In 2014, the Make in India campaign was touted as the game-changer that would transform India into a manufacturing superpower. Promises were made of millions of new jobs, a booming economy, and reduced imports. Fast forward to 2024, and the reality looks starkly different. In today’s video, we discuss the harsh truth behind Make in India: Why the initiative failed to live up to expectations. Despite a massive push to attract foreign investment and create jobs, India still finds itself struggling with outdated infrastructure, a sluggish manufacturing sector, and a massive trade deficit. We’ll break down the numbers that tell the real story, from India’s stagnant GDP contribution from manufacturing to the failed promise of job creation. What happened to all those ambitious targets set by the government? Why is India still unable to make the leap to self-sufficiency despite its vast resources? We’ll also look at the key factors that have held India back, including red tape, environmental regulations, and the lack of a skilled workforce. All these factors combined paint a picture of a country stuck in the past, unable to move forward as a global manufacturing hub. If you're wondering why India hasn’t become the industrial giant it was supposed to be, or if you want to understand the real impact of Make in India, this video is for you.ua-cam.com/video/RuV5GBCgghw/v-deo.htmlsi=obmXRNLfT9GgAF7a🧔

Suzhou is out of my expectation. For China,I think only Beijing,Shanghai or Shenzhen would be involved.
東京は確かに上海や北京、ソウルなどを超える大都市だけど人口3700万人は東京「都市圏」じゃない?
東京で3700万はいないよ
神奈川、千葉埼玉合わせてるから
Anyone who has been to Suzhou and Mumbai will know - Mumbai is nowhere near as rich as Suzhou, in terms of urban quality, living standards, and industrial output 😂 Nice try Indian folks.
I know 😂
第10名的苏州看起来比第9名的孟买漂亮多了
Suzhou, because it is an ancient city, cannot be too densely populated with buildings and industries. Suzhou's buildings and industries are largely dispersed in the rest of the area and not in the main city.
Mumbai is clearly not in the same league as the other cities on the list. It is nonsense that Mumbai can be on par with Seoul when one country has a GDP per capita of over $30,000 and the other has a GDP per capita of under $3,000, with the same or even less population (most of whom live in slums and work for a few dollars a day).
Indians love to play the GDP PPP trick. The data shows that the total nominal GDP of the city of Mumbai (including urban and suburban areas, hereinafter referred to as ‘Mumbai’) in the financial year 2022-23 translates into US$ 89,158 million. And this figure may also be overestimated as Mumbai does not have any industry worth mentioning.

Seoul is top8…? Is this right?
That's correct, but if Incheon and Gyeonggi Province are included to form the Seoul metropolitan area, it would rank second, just behind the Greater Tokyo Area, with a GDP exceeding $1 trillion.
@ oh i see.. im korean but i guess u know it better then me. Thanks for the info
I think that's limited to Seoul. In terms of the metropolitan area, including Incheon and Gyeonggi-do, the ranking will rise further.
Almost Chinese city is so large.
For example, Shanghai is ten times larger than Seoul or Tokyo.
Therefore Chinese city have higher GDP than other city when comparing single city .

The nominal gdp of Seoul and its metropolitan area, with a population of 26 million, is close to $1T and currently has the world's 6th largest city too, comparable to Paris.
But what makes you think it's only $360 billion and only ranked 8th in Asia? LOL
首尔接近一万亿美元你真敢说?😂纽约大约 1 1000 多亿美元
@@清渏 It is based on gdp including the metropolitan area, which Tokyo dare to include too, and in fact, Seoul ranked 4th 10 years ago, and is still 6th, comparable to Paris now. In the case of China, where gdp per capita is so low, it is regrettable that Shanghai and Beijing cannot be included in the top 20 level even if similar data on the metropolitan area are brought. 😹🤣😜
