When I got married my mother in law filled the parental holes I had been struggling with for years. She loved me and took me in as her own child. She was our family's biggest cheerleader and encourager. 4 years ago we found out she had cancer and she passed away in 13 days. Our lives changed irreversably. I switched my phone and lost all her texts I was so upset. But her last text to me was 'The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace' It's the only text I can remember and the most important. I cant help but cry when I hear this, but it makes me smile because it turns my focus to THE LORD. If she loved us, and was for us as much as she was, how much more is the LORD for us and defending us, and caring for us and helping us. As much as we would want her back in an instant, we have the Lord, and I am so grateful for that. He is all we need.

As I watch this, I was remembering "flash mobs" the beautiful unexpected artists, musicians, and vocalists who would appear in malls and sing beautiful songs. I think it would be a blessing for all the cities that are being destroyed by hate, violence, looting and arson, to be overcome with this song by a flash mob. Every city that has been under siege by the darkness of evil, we should being light, live love, and hope to those cities, to America.

And I love that it's all straight from scripture! But i've come to believe over the years that so much about what people see as "right" or "wrong" when it comes to worship comes down to personal taste. What ultimately matters is the posture of our hearts, whether in a church sanctuary or outside of one. (Romans 12:1-2). Blessings to you!

I then gave them one last group hug and exited the dance floor, because this was me letting go so they can cleave to one another and start their new life together as one in marriage. When I was a little kid my sisters and I would go to the Presbyterian church cater corner to our house. Our Pastor seemed like a giant of a man when I was only about 5 or 6. I can remember his face, his kind words, his gentle touch. And always, always, always he would end our Sunday service with The Blessing. He would come down from his great pulpit, which seemed as tall as him. And stand in front of the big long commode which had the words “Do This In Remembrance of Me,” engraved across the top of it. He would stand in front of it with his arms outstretched, the great sleeves of his “reverend” robe hanging from his arms. And he would speak these words. And it seemed like he must have a direct connection to God. Like he could call Him up anytime he wanted and the rest of us stood in awe at his holiness. At least I was. Reverend had a home at the end of our street. One day I was walking the old railroad tracks that were across the T-intersection at the end of that road. I stepped on a chunk of old railroad and boy did it bleed. I hobbled over to the reverend’s house and he washed my foot and put some gauze on it and like my own personal miracle, it felt better. Oh, it still had to heal but his gentleness and kindness were everything in that moment. Like the most wonderful grandpa a 5 year old could have. I thought of him often over the years, wondered what he was doing. Imagining that he went home to his heavenly reward. At least I hope so. I was more than a little scared when I found out that many ministers, reverends, pastors and priests didn’t have a true relationship with Him. I always hoped he did. I wanted to be able to see him, his smiling face, his wise, kind eyes smiling in greeting. I guess I just have to wait and see!
What’s beautiful about this is that there’s no way this could have been done if life was as it used to be. Thank you Passion for making something this amazing in the midst of such an awful time.

7/25/2020: I just watched an online memorial service of a 65 yr. old man who died a week ago from COVID. THIS version was played at his service! What a blessing for so many to hear & KNOW that this man is in the presence of THE ONE who loves him the most!!!!
Yes, goosebumps and great music, but all Christians are blessed to be a blessing. Right now there are millions of Covid victims whose families are in terrible distress. They need God's blessing. 7/25/2020: I just watched an online memorial service of a 65 yr. old man who died a week ago from COVID. THIS version was played at his service! What a blessing for so many to hear & KNOW that this man is in the presence of THE ONE who loves him the most!!!!

Yes, goosebumps and great music, but all Christians are blessed to be a blessing. Right now there are millions of Covid victims whose families are in terrible distress. They need God's blessing. May this music prompt all Christians to reach out to the poor, the afflicted, to those whose world has collapsed, and to BE that blessing, to be as Jesus would have been if He had been here in our place.
