    Nervous Shakedown - what a f**king awesome track that one was..the guitars, solo, the intense vocals, the raw production...great stuff. Good interview.

      I'm always wondering... underrated.. for whom? For Me Powerage is one the best albums for example. There's not a single album that i did not like in ACDC's discography. Each have it's own sound, ambience, texture, feeling.. I listen to each, by period, depending of my state of mind, of what kind of sound i want to listen to... Underrated? For whom? Journalists? I do'nt mind! For peoples..? I don't mind! "MY" acdc does not have an underestimated album.. and never will.

      OMG! Flick of... is one of my fav. and Powerage is also Eddie Van Halens favorite ACDC album. That will put it in my top 10 albums as well. Fly on...not to crazy about, could be my least fav. ACDC record. That means I still enjoy the brutal live recording of it. Thank you!

    I was 15 when this album came out I freakin loved it..Got it the day it came out..It just wasn't radio friendly..Laurent Nozerac is exactly right..In 83 the radio stations started to play a lot more hard rock and metal..so they had more competition..And this album just didn't have any radio hits..But it still Rocked!..It's a lot better than FOTW or BUYV..they were really down on those..I saw them on FTATR and they sold out 3 nights in a row in Dallas..They only played one show for FOTS and it barely sold out..I've never really understood it..Its a good album that I have a lot of good memories with..:)

    In 1982, AC/DC was by far the most popular rock band in the world. Then MTV came along. They could've changed their sound to try to keep up with their competition, but they chose to double down and go in the opposite direction ("back to basics") with Flick of the Switch. Being way less radio friendly than Highway to Hell, Back in Black, and FTATR, they may have sacrificed their potential to become more popular than they ended up, but us hardcore fans got a seriously kickass album out of it. That is admirable artistic integrity. Unfortunately the band fell apart for a few years...but once Mal got sober, they had a big comeback with "Thunderstruck" anyway.

    Althoug they stand for it, AD/DC themselves underrate FOTS by no including a single song from it in ther setlist. It's a shame 'cause this album really rocks, I wish could see Nervous Shakedown, Deep In A Hole live... On the other hand, people keep on stating this is their most underrated album, on and on, this means, after all, that it's not that underrated. True AC/DC fans gotta love the whole album, just like I do.

      👍 Every AC/DC album is a start to finish listen every time, in my opinion. AC/DC music is AC/DC music. Also, have always admired them for not putting out a greatest hits or best of album. But wonder how they got the record company to agree to that!🤔

    If they ever do one more tour(hope so), i would like to see them doing atleast one track from this album and FOTW aswell. Those albums needs to be praised in some way in the end. They were not successful albums back than, but still many people became fans around that time, and are still around as huge fans, i am one of them.

    • @bradss1000
      @bradss1000 3 роки тому

      AGREE 💯%!! AC/DC music is AC/DC music and I think they should have switched up the set list at least every tour, but hell, why not every show?!! There’s at least a few bands that do that, and I think AC/DC definitely should have been one of them....

    • @johnvandenheuvel6792

      Yes it was the Album after FTATR. Most of Back in Black's lyrics were by Bon Scott. Any true AC/DC fan knows this to be true. Bon's D.N.A is all over the B in B album. The band dedicated B in B to Bon Scott and rightly so. Bon had seen Brian sing and recommended him to front the band if something was to happen to himself. Bon's die hard life style was catching up to him and he was very aware of the fact that he may not be there for much longer if he didn't go straight and he had the foresight to put the band's best interests before himself. Bon was also ten years older than the rest of the band and had lived by the code of sex ,drugs and Rock'n'Roll in everyway and did it with no limits. I M O, Bon Scott was the greatest front man and singer in Rock'n'Roll history.

    • @bradss1000
      @bradss1000 3 роки тому

      @@johnvandenheuvel6792-Appreciate your “reply”, even though it didn’t have anything to do with Dr m’s comment! Anyway, I’ve heard that just a few bits & pieces of lyrics on the BIB album are Bon’s. The whole subject has been fodder for conversation, debate, myth, or whatever else you wanna call it, ever since the album came out. Cheers 🍻(AC/DC has been my #1 favorite hard rock band ever since I was 17, but I wouldn’t be considered a superfan as far as reading every book about them, having every bootleg, and so on. What I’m getting to is this; I wonder if the Young brothers have ever addressed the subject directly? And therefore, put the “debate” to rest.)

  • @nozzie66
    @nozzie66 14 років тому

    @JeronimoPalma At the time, in 1983, you had a lot of new talented bands, especially in hard-rock, like Def Leppard or Maiden, who were really breakin'through, and the rock music was more sophisticated, including more videoclips. With FOTS, ACDC was really not mainstream, and even the so-called die-hard fans, criticized the band for having made something quite basic....

    The reason they don't play anything from FOTS (and haven't done since 1984) is because it wasn't a particularly successful album. It has nothing to do with their opinion of it as a band. It's about the fact that a very good percentage of their audience on any given arena/stadium night has never heard it. As for the opinions of "big fans", I can assure you if they ever did some small club dates again and dusted something from FOTS off - GFH say - the place would go f*cking ballistic...
