I just wanted to let you know that although the steps were a little difficult for me to follow, this was the single, most beautiful item I've ever made in crochet! The square is absolutely stunning. I made it using red for the flower, and dark green for leaves, and black all around.Thank you for sharing!!!

The cover picture is nicer than the sample you made. Its closer together and more dense. The sample is loose and you see all the foundation chains. Not the same.

Wonderful video, thank you for posting! My grandmother taught me how to make this square many years ago & I had forgotten how to do it, so I needed instructions to refresh my memory. The flower part came back quickly & I had no trouble with it. The only trouble I am having is on the leaves…can’t quite get that worked out yet & can’t remember how to do it. That part of the brain hasn’t “refired” yet! It’s only been about 50 years since I did one of these…don’t know why I can’t remember! ☺️

I tried this rose tutorial and really wish it worked for me but I’ve tried it a few times and the 2 petals on one chain just turn into one big arc looking petal. It started looking like two petals up until the point when you start the next row and dc between the two petals. Bummer

You did a great job. Too bad this wasn't here when I was just started learning. I have made this Afghan so many times now over the years. I think I was counting roses in my sleep. So many color combos. The last one I made my aunt said it was too busy too many roses so I mixed the roses with a plain square and sewed them together diagonally. It came out so cute. The first one I made was for me with burgundy roses. 100 to fit the queen size.. It is now in a chest. Hope my daughter wants it when she gets married
Have you ever made this with each rose square bigger? I want to make a ring bearer's pillow out of this for my niece's wedding (in August) and was trying to figure out if I could just make one big rose square or if I should just make 4 rose squares and have that be the size of the pillow.
