    I like your set up. Are you using pvc tubing? Recently our water pressure delivery seems to have dropped. Our Scala 1 also seems to be louder than when we purchased it a/b 1 year ago. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I wonder if merely opening the drain plug on the bottom would remove any dirt that might be causing us problems. Thanks.

    Mine lasted 8 months, then leaked out the bottom at that square screen looking thing. Was told by the distributor that if your pump was built in 2018 or 2019, it has a fatal casting flaw, a leak kit will only last 6 to 8 months, they sent me a brand new one built in 2020, so I guess we will see, otherwise they are great pumps

    Do you need a filter before the pump, I've hear that gunfos requires a pre-filter for warranty purposes.

    Great video. Does a booster pump require a reservoir to draw from? Our Community Well delivers ~50psi. We'd like 60 or so PSI inside the house and I'm getting conflicting advice on a reservoir before the pump.

    I am on my third pump in a year. The first one failed, the second one is leaking out the bottom. I love the idea of the Scala2 but so far it isn't holding up. I purchased the pump through Amazon and the company supplying the pump has been awesome. They respond quickly and have replaced the pump twice now at no charge and have sent return labels. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this one will hold up.

      Tinkerton82 I’m researching adding a Scala2 to boost my low in-town H2O pressure but I’m seeing bad reviews on the Scala2 pump. You posted this around 2 years ago (it’s now 07/2020). What is your opinion now of the pump? It it holding up? Is Grundfos supporting their warranty? Would you use this pump in a hard-water environment? Can you update us? Thanks!

      @@dalehorkey9540 hi dale. They gave me a new part under the year warranty then out of luck after that so I only turn it on when needed for something. I hear there is a new version haven’t bothered with it. The pump would be amazing... if it didn’t develop leaks in the casting

    Mine failed as well. Had a pinhole leak after a year right in the middle of the plastic. Grundfos sent me a repair kit free which I installed in another video. That way I didn't have to ship it. They have a 2 year warranty.

      Get the CMBE 1-44 instead. The SCALA2 has a known fault and they are crap, especially for the price you paid.

    • @Tinkerton82
      @Tinkerton82  3 роки тому +3

      Reasonably quiet really. I would think inside a closet would be ok. Problem alphas been reliability. The front plastic cast piece leaked and was replaced. They then stopped making the part. I believe that it has been redone now so hopefully new ones are ok. Pump was amazing... when not leaking.

    does it work for hot water as well ?? or is it for cold water only ??

    • @Tinkerton82
      @Tinkerton82  7 років тому

      SERAFIN ESQUIVEL
      It boosts service pressure coming in so that is cold so that means it boosts both hot and cold. I guess you could put it in the hot line only if you'd like but you'd have to check with grindfos to see what the temp limit would be. That would be an odd installation.

    What size are the connections to the pump? I see you are using 3/4" pex on the in and out, but it seems as if it steps up there just as entering/leaving the pump. Can you describe those connections please? Just got my pump and was expecting 3/4" but it is clearly larger and I wanna know before making the hour long drive in to the hardware store. Thanks!

    • @Tinkerton82
      @Tinkerton82  6 років тому

      The small white pieces are just 1" pex to get it to the right size for connection to the pump. I used pex 1" brass with 1" female on the other side.

    • @rsgard

      Is the "click" audible from another room? Mine has what I would describe as a thump that is quite loud when its kicking on. It seems to have problems supplying a single faucet and revs up and down, short cycling. Thumping everytime it starts back up.
