Lotti, Antonio (1677?-1740) Messa del Primo Tuono ("MIssa Brevis", in D minor, 1736)
It's beautiful, deep and spiritual, I'm still discovering this composer, thanks for sharing
Absolutely beautiful performance! I listened to it first and then realized it was you!
Thank you for posting this. Lotti is an underrated composer. They say he influenced Bach and Handel. Now that's saying something.
Kyrie eleison
I sang this in the choir almost 30 years ago while studying in the conservatorio of music in Lima - Perú. ❤️
That was really great, thank you. Lotti does not get his due.
Jumping from Kyrie to Sanctus!?
We sing this Lotti Kyrie at Mass sometimes, but with a tempo twice as fast.
A complete Mass by Lotti, with Gloria and Credo, is named "Messa del primo tuono" (first tone Mass). It has the same Kyrie, Sanctus et Benedictus, and Agnus Dei.
C'est très impressionnant
no gloria?
