I couldnt agree more anything like barrelll twist deffffff cause a lot of tension, 2 strand is by far the safest option for a style if you really want one but even that id say 6 months atleast.
Dope video King! I’m approaching my 6 month but I have 5 barrel twist. My loctician is 20 yrs in the game and suggested it. Being that I workout 4-5 times a week it’s been perfect for me! Not too tight but I had braids for years so I don’t even notice the tension lol. I keep them in for 2-3 weeks then let my hair breathe for about 2 weeks before a retwist. My hair grows super fast so that plays a part as well. I’ll shoot you a pic on IG. Keep the Kontent coming 🙏🏾
I interlock my hair. I grew my hair out for about 7 months, had it interlocked and I did my first style at 5 months. It was the first time my hair had ever been braided period. I have a full set of locs, but the bottom locs are shorter. The tension at the bottom in the back was so bad I broke out around those locs, and I had two that unraveled. I’m at 9 months and haven’t done a style since. I think they look nice but I won’t style again until I’m closer to shoulder length with the bottom row in the back.

I took the style out and the rubber bands had damn near ruined three locs and one was barely hanging on man. I had to wait about a month before I could use the crochet tool to fix it.......... I've been working out more this year so I go with the two strand twist for a protective style. If a normal retwist without getting a style lasted long I would rock my locs down. Is there a way to make a retwist last longer without a style?

Going to wait until I reach my year mark before I style and even I still think that's too soon. The pain of having your hair pulled from your roots and having that tension all throughout your head is simply not worth the trouble. Some of y'all can even barely move your neck without having to turn your whole entire torso because of how tight it is due to the short length 😂
At the time this video came out I was 5 or 6 months locked now I'm a 1year 1/2 and I still haven't got a style.

im not a fan of styles really either. I do like the 2 stands but ill Pass on the barrels and cornrow style
