Thanks for the tutorial, I just cleaned the throttle body for my dad's 06 Outlander. I wasn't able to get the TB as clean as you got it...and I used a dish washing scrub too, probably because it's the first time it's ever been cleaned.
Here are few steps - Remove the bumper - Remove two bolts holding the top of the headlight to the body just over the radiator and a couple of screws holding the indicator in place If you remove the one vertical screw from back edge of the bumper and the plastic fasteners across the top, you can usually pull the bumper far enough away to sneak the headlamp out, just be cautious of your paint
hey Dan awesome videos on out lander repairs, do you know anything on differential bushings? It seems like my car has been suffering from a horrible "Clink" Sound as i press the gas and release. My assumption is that i have bad beat up bushings making that sounds upon launch and disengaging on the gas. Please if you can give some input it would be great.
Thanks a bunch! This video has been very useful - just one question. I did the throttle body and cleaned it and after reattaching it I'm getting very low engine rpm and sometimes the engine turns itself off. I drove it today and it seemed to be a bit better but that's just me. Do you have any idea how to "educate" the throttle body? (2003 engine) Thanks and best regards!
Pull the battery to reset the memory, it's adapted to the previous conditions to maintain, now that you've cleaned it, the system doesn't know and is still running according to adaptive version of it being built up. Reset it and run it around and idle it like Normal and it'll re adjust.
Whats the normal RPM of outlander 2005? I cleaned the throttle body and RPm without aircon is 1200 and when i turn on the aircon, it goes down to 900. need help on this
would this be a good routine for my 3.2 Did 2002 Shogun / Pajero. It stalls on me sometimes and I always recognise that RPM is below 1000 when it STALLS. Sometimes suring 1st time starting the engine in the morning. I remedied those situations by just givving more throttle . Any advise . thanks
I did this and also cleaned my Mass Airflow Intake sensor, using the correct cleaner for it. My car now has trouble in idle. Its gurgling, and it gets close to stalling, but never does. The RPM fluctuates around 1000. But if I accelerate, it runs fine. The service engine light is on, and the car idles okay without the mass airflow sensor plugged in. Could I have damaged it? I also experience a hissing noise at ~80mph is this related to the mass airflow intake or an engine vacuum leak?
just cleaned my throttle valve of my 03 Outlander. It was a little different than yours since mine uses a throttle cable instead of drive by wire. Why does carbon deposit built up behind the valve? Is it because of the PCV system?
7150285 Intake valve deposits form as a result of oil slowly seeping past the intake valve guide seals and down the valve guides. A tiny amount of oil is necessary to lubricate the guides, but when oil reaches the hot surface of the valve, it can stick and burn forming heavy black carbon deposits that gradually build up over time. The higher the mileage on the engine and the greater the wear in the valve guides and seals, the faster the accumulation of black carbon deposits on the intake valves. Low viscosity motor oils (such as 5W-20 and 0W-20) may make the problem worse because they are thinner (to reduce friction) and flow more easily down the valve guides. Conventional motor oils also have a lower flash point than synthetic oils, which can also increase the formation of deposits over time.
Hi Dan Vo! How are you? Could you tell me where is fuel filter in this outlander 2005? I need to change my fuel filter MR514676 and I do not know where is.One more thing: do you think is necessary to change trasmission filter of this car? Please do more video we can donate something to help you to do videos. Thank you so much!

Hi, Thanks for the movie. Yesterday I disconnected my battery (tried to reset my computer since it did not recognize my immobilizer). after reconnecting the battery the idle started to move down to 200-500 rpm, and the verge of stalling. Do you have any idea how to solve it ? I tried to re-learn the IAC for 10 minutes, but failed to reach stable idle. any options ?

I've seen you posting videos of the outlander. Do you also have experience of replacing the headlight assembly?
Hi, do you know where is IAC valve located? I can not find it!!
Don't worry! The issue will be gone for the next couple days. Thanks
Nice job!

Jessica Hellwig the same thing happened to my 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart but I sold the problem with my spark plugs they were dirty and loose
Juan Carlos Palma now i have a loud tiking everytime i accelerate.... i have no clue what the problem is and i cant trustany of these damn shops to be honest so im fucked
It can be a number of things, one of the coils could be bad, bad or dirty spark plug or wires (most common on these cars) or clogged fuel injectors
como se calidra el cuerpo de aceleracion de la outlander 2006??
