Today I am onboard Sunwing Airlines (one of Canada’s low-cost airline providers) and I will be flying from Orlando, Florida International Airport to Toronto Pearson International Airport onboard their Boeing 737. The flight is almost entirely empty and I am seated in the middle of the aircraft with no seat neighbors for rows and rows. Sunwing no longer offers printed menus for their in-flight service so be prepared to download the Sunwing Airlines app prior to your flight to avoid any headaches with knowing what to order.

Kinda shocked im the first comment after a year of this being posted 👌 but i promise this essay wont waste ur time.
After flying on sunwing a dozen times im not surprised this airline is coming to an end. Theyve been steadily increasing the amount of penny pinching over the past 15 years. Way back when the whole fleet was 737-800s: a meal was free (with a glass of pop, juice, coffee/tea), free snacks, free champagne and chocolates, and some other stuff i might of missed. The fold down screens were ancient but at least you could watch a movie. Fast foward to after covid where the fleet was all max-8s: free meal was gone, they had the balls to charge for a glass of pop or juice but somehow coffee or tea was still free. No inflight screens of any kind and they never added wifi to the planes so without pre-downloading shows/movies on ur tablet, youd be screwed. They also had the balls to charge $25 each way to have a carry-on bag. Then the worst part of all (at toronto pearson): they moved sunwing to a tiny bootleg terminal on the other side of the airport that you had to hop on a shuttle bus to get there. Almost missed a flight once because of it.
All i can say at this point is good riddins. Rip 2002-2024.

Thank you for the comment! It’s always interesting to see which airlines will survive or fold under the low-cost model. I hope you will consider subscribing to the channel! Thank you again for commenting

@@TheWayAwayTraveler happy you read it 👍. Forgot to mention sunwing was bought out by westjet so it didnt fall off the face of the earth outta nowhere. Theyre just gonna use the planes as is and paint them over.
