Sadly for this movie UA-cam does not let us monetize BUT thats not what the comment is about . We have been struggling releasing this movie due to the dialog, actions and symbols ! we had the blur, mute, and beep BUT I really insisted to have it on the channel.
You learn from History and that's the only way to ensure it does not repeat !
MY Request is to keep the comments civil and Diplomatic . FEEL free to express yourself with grace and intellect!
Thank you all for watching !
It’s a very important movie so I’m glad you posted it❤
Great film and great choice for
your reaction Miss Bisscute. If you like this social- hystoric subjects you should react to the movies: Malcom X with Denzel Washintong and Mississippi Burning (1988). I think you will like them.
Also, another great edit by Arnold❤️
Glad you put this up despite all the work for no monetary reward (which really sucks). I'm British, I'm white so this film isn't as close to home to my everyday experience, but when I first saw this movie it was one that struck me hard, to the extent that it is still one of my all time favourite movies. I think so much rings true about this today as when it first came out.
@@alejandromartinez1766 , as history--- sorry to say--- both those films are kinda crap. Mississippi Burning especially--- about 80 % crap. Again, sorry to say.
This movie is one you realize you can't judge it until you've finished it and replayed it in your head to comprehend it. Heavy is an accurate description. Incredible movie.
If a movie like this makes you uncomfortable, but makes you think - it has done its job! As someone else commented above, hatred is learned behavior and can be unlearned. I learned hatred from some of my family, unlearned it by observing the world with my own eyes and ears, but Sweeney delivered the final blow for me with one line - "has anything you've done made your life better". Not long after I first watched this movie, I also discovered Zen and it saved me from self-destructing by my own anger.
I’m American and I think my takeaway from this movie is universal. Hate has nothing to do with nature, it’s pure nurture. Nobody is born with hate. It is learned and can be unlearned❤
A channel called Analyzing Evil said it best, "hate is a corruption of love". That one does not hate something without loving something just as much.
For Derrick it was the death of his father, & he couldn't even process it properly because of the propaganda he was being fed by Cameron.
For certain people. Most racist people don't want to change. While a few have changed, not all of them will.
@@PauloHernandezXD I agree but the seeds were planted by his father, so back to the love I guess
Nature vs Nurture is a losing argument on both sides of the coin, for there are plenty of examples for both.
People are biased and racist inherently.... but at different levels, be it little or absolute.
@@ooOPizzaHeadOoo Ok, first off I'm not wasting my time reading all that.
I have my opinion, & you need to stop being narcissistic.
The look of pure horror on your face as you watched the curbstomp scene was intense. Thank you for being so candid and real in your reaction.
My pleasure, thank you for watching
I hardly ever comment on your videos, but I have to say that your reactions are the best on UA-cam.
"Is it gonna be a black and white movie?"
Well.... You could say that.
When it's actually very nuanced...
😂
Edward Norton is such an underrated actor...if you compare this role to the role in fight club for example...its just insane what he can deliver believably
Check him out in Primal Fear, should have won his Oscar for that one, incredible performance.
Then.... The Incredible Hulk happened🤮
He's incredible but not underrated. Everyone knows it
@@IntenseSarcasm was gonna mention his role in Primal Fear. His turn around was better than Kevin Spacy as Keyser Soze.
The guy who works with him in the laundry is the best character. Not only does he help Derek turn his life around, but he is very funny.
I like that actor. Wish he was in more movies.
I whole heartedly agree with you about bullies. I was bullied at school because I was underdeveloped for my age, had to go to Hospital every week for steroid injections. Bullies are cowards, as soon as I started fighting back their lost interest, and moved onto the next victim. So I started protecting the new bullied kids, made some of my best friends during that time. Great reaction to a tough to watch film. By the way beautiful outro to your reaction...its so true. You brought me to tears. 💘
I was so small in 5th grade nobody could believe I'd bloodied their nose 2 months ago--- so they'd try on the little crazy guy--- again. BOOM!
Exactly, bullies are cowards who only feel tough when they're with others. And they can only feel strong against people who don't fight back.
And it's only when you don't let them intimidate you do you see their nervousness.
Yeah... I had collection of WEIRD KIDS that I made my buddies for the same reason. We would befriend any new kids too so that they weren't alone too. I taught my son to do the same.
@@ramonalfaro3252 Good on you. School was tough for me, it helped knowing I had true friends waiting for me each day.
This movie should be a requirement for everyone in society.
Should be a requirement to watch this to get your graduatin credit in history class
The original ending was actually going to have Derek go back to being a skinhead after his brother's murder, but the producers thought the movie was already bleak enough.
Yeah the original last scene was Derek standing in front of the bathroom mirror shaving his head.
Should've kept the original ending.
@puremachinery I kinda agree. It's a sad but realistic message that hatred is a part of the world we live in. We can fight against it as much as we can, but it will never truly be gone.
Thank god.
What makes you think he didn't go back??
I saw this movie in 1999 at a friends house. He asked us if we wanted to watch a good movie and we said yes. I wasn't prepared for how good a movie this was.
I hope this one stays up Biss! Great reaction to a hard to watch movie! Thanks for sharing this with us Biss!
My take on this reaction is that Bisscute needs a big hug!!!🤗 This is an excellent movie.
Thanks
Hate, is the worst word in any language, because it involves an action, a feeling, that has no positive outcome. No matter how you look at the word, the feeling, the action of HATE, it is pure evil. like a meal with no calories, no substinance, hate only breeds more hate. Hate is never satisfied. The best line in this move is "has anything you've done in life made you any better." I love all people, race, religion, gay, or straight. We can all learn from each other if we are willing to listen. ~ Biscuit, you are awesome! Love ya!
You’re awesome, thanks for watching
That is a terrible take. Hate can be a good thing, it depends on what is hated. Hate of Earl because of his melanin content is stupid, it is good to hate the action of "touching" a five year old.
Yeah I think you're loading up hatred with all sorts of your preconceived notions.. but that's not it. Hate is not the opposite of Love, it is indifference. Consider that.
The hatred is being passed down by parents and elders in the movie.. our country hasn't actually healed for our past but just tried to pretend it's not an issue now . .. the only way to get thru our hate and hurt is thru understanding and discussing. Not an easy thing for us
Excellent watch. I avoided this movie for 26 years, but your consistent honesty (sometimes brutal) made me want to watch it to see your reaction. Switched over to the Patreon version after a few minutes. So now I've finally seen it. Thank you.
Thank You for this reaction, You really spoke out the feelings i had and it felt like it came from Your heart. If there were more people like You, the world would be a better place! Keep on doing what You love, and again: THANK YOU!
Bisscute, the reaction you have is why people wanted you to watch. I'm 60. My school was integrated when I was 10 years old. They move the white students to the Black school. As expected fights occur. In my class, I decided to talk to a white kid. Even though I know the black kids would threaten to beat me up. I did it anyway. That was 1974!. My mother did the same thing after the 1954 decision. Quotes, "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain". "Those who forget their own history are condemned to repeat it". Buddha said, "Things are not what they appear to be: nor are they otherwise". Simone de Beauvoir said, "One's life has value so long as one attributes value to the life of others".
Powerful and important movie, always was, always will be. Edward Furlong played the younger brother Danny. You've seen him before in Terminator 2, where he played John Connor.
"has anything you've done, made your life better" strongest words in this movie, so powerful, tough watch but important to learn from history so we dont repeat it.
“Has anything you’ve done made your life better?” It’s a good question for self-examination.
I had this movie as a VHS tape as a kid. It was my parents who bought the movie of course. I don't remember if i understand the movie as a kid, but i certainly do now as an adult!
I want to give up on humanity everyday but people like you give me hope.. I just hope that you are honest in your opinions.. Great Reaction!!
Thank you so much
Very tough film to watch, but I feel it is important to understand and address all of these issues
Thank you for watching and reacting to this film. I know it’s so controversial that you have to *seriously* edit it for UA-cam, but it’s an important one to see. It really is a study of hatred, and how ultimately pointless and destructive it is. And how it WILL always lead to tragedy.
This is one of the rare movies I put on my “Must Be Seen By Everyone At Least Once” list. Another one, if you haven’t seen it yet, is “12 Angry Men (1957)”, for similar reasons. It’s another important lesson piece.
Another film on that list, for pure enjoyment, is The Princess Bride. If nothing else, it has some of the greatest repeatable quotes in cinema.
I have seen those and reacted to them, feel free to check them out
Thank you for this reaction. ❤❤
@BissFlix THANK YOU for watching this difficult movie, and for your raw reaction. It has a super powerful message, and I agree - everyone ought to watch it to be reminded of how unnecessary hate can cost us so much more than any of it is worth. I appreciate you being willing to mix it up and watch a movie with heavy themes, and sharing your heartfelt responses. ❤🙏🏼
Nice one! I dont know any more, how often i saw this movie and it hits ever time pity hard. Keep it u!
Awesome movie with great character development.
So strong movie! A very important movie to watch as you said. You have so much common sense in you and you are such a loving person. Love you for it❤
Thank you for covering such an important movie. It is absolutely crushing, but it tells such an important message.
You’re welcome, thank you for watching
The cycle of hate over ignorance does nothing to help anyone.
Such a significant and important movie. Shout out to Beverly D'Angelo who we know from very, very different movies, a very fine actress. There are no real answers, just seek out love and compassion. Reject hate.
Thanks for watching
Yea this movie is deep I've seen this movie like 1000 times and I still get chills the so thank you Biss for reaction to this the last part of this movie when his brother got shot had me in tears when I first saw that par and the curve part when he stump on this head that was bad so a lot of emotions from this movie but good movie that probley helped a lot of people hopefully so thank you Biss your the best and love.
Thank you, glad you liked the reaction
Tough movie to watch. Hard lessons learned, sometimes in blood. As difficult and heartbreaking as it was, you still maintained your high level, heartfelt, and wonderful reaction quality.
Thank you. You are an internet treasure. Hope your channel grows and grows.
American History X is a powerful film. It doesn't leave you feeling good. It leaves you asking yourself hard questions. I think you did a wonderful reaction to it.
Thank you
I loved this movie when I first saw it, though my jaw dropped when I saw Derek’s dad played by the wholesome dad from “Boy Meets World”.
This is literally one of the hardest movies to watch, but I feel it's equally important for everyone to see because it portrays the cycle of hatred so vividly.
Right, thanks for watching
Unfortunately I grew up in area like this just in the middle of the country, but fortunate to have two parents who stressed treat each individual person you meet in life with dignity and respect until they give you a reason not to. In high school, We were sitting on a kid we knew' s front porch and his father came out dressed for a "meeting", did not know he was a grand dragon in the Klan. Moved away after graduating high school and never looked back
Wow, what a great reaction.
This movie is a powerful one.
I appreciate you sharing this.
My pleasure, thank you for watching
Shooting legs can be lethal. On top of that, kegs are hard to hit and doesn't always stop anyone
I watch alot of movie reacts, and after this... Bisscute now ranks #1, along with this gem of a movie, American History X. Hate is bagage indead.
Awww thank you so much, happy you love the reactions
31:07 some people have prior offenses and some people don't
31:38 throw bribes in to the mix
33:26 he told everyone "why murder if he can be useful on the outside"
39:38 it was a deleted scene
Hearing or reading about a curb stomp is one thing, but seeing it is a whole other thing. Incredible movie.
Your reaction was sincerely heartfelt. I share your very thoughts and feelings about this movie’s message. Thank you for bravely presenting your heart. Stay encouraged.
Thank you so much
it's a tough movie, but a really good one because it shows both sides : how hate can be strong and devastating, and how redemption and understanding and knowledge is always possible and must be the answer... Just saw today a documentary about all that is happening right now in our world, and I still can't understand how some people, powerful ones, educated, can be so selfish, greedy and full of hatred.... Not that young anymore, I still can't get used to it. Great reaction, once again, and I really like how true and spontaneous you are.
Told both sides? It told a lie. A completely fabricated story that bore no resemblance to reality. If they want to expose racial hate they should turn on MSNBC, CNN, The Joy Ann Reed show, or the View.
Thanks, thank you for watching
That was epic you did amazing ❤❤❤100
Thank you
@@BissFlix you're very welcome I hope you are having a epic and blessed day and night 100
Love ur reaction it’s good to know there’s innocent good souls out there🙏🏿
For another movie showing the US prison system and what it does to its inmates, and what it forces them to do to eachother, check out "Shot Caller" (2017) starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister from GoT you know), and a bunch of other highly recognizable actors. Regular family man Nikolaj makes a mistake and winds up in state prison, and once inside it's basically sink or swim. The movie actually opens with him being released from prison after his time is up, and we follow his struggle to complete one last deal he can't back out from, while the time leading up to and including the prison sentence is shown in flashbacks.
Yes, Shot Caller is a must! Unfortunately, I’ve only seen one movie reaction for Shot Caller. The movie should’ve made the rounds already.
@@blacksunday4231 Yeah it's such an overlooked movie. I wasn't aware of its existance until maybe six months ago I randomly got recommended a scene from it here. It's a damn shame it didn't reach a bigger audience.
Great reaction to this brutal eye opening masterpiece of a movie.
An absolute masterpiece of a film. This needs to be shown in schools! It’s a very important movie to watch.
I remember wen I watched it ages ago on DVD I still remember what it said on the DVD " his father taught him to hate, his friends taught him to rage but his enemies gave him hope".
Fun fact, Edvard Norton also edited this movie.
I seen this in middle school. Opened my eyes in a lot of ways.
Funny thing is this movie works both ways. To educate but there are some that glorify the racialy violent parts and take pride in it.
But the film does open up debate about alot of things besides race, but economy and working classes that add fuel to the fire.
One of the most trascendental movies of the history. All in the movie has a meaning and a message. This movie should be seen in every schools and be a part of the education for ALL the students. It would be very good for your training as a person.
17:30 I remember watching this at a theater. My girlfriend reacted like you and hid her face in my shoulder like a scared little bird. And she did it again with the shower scene. This movie is soul scorching 😭
You are such a pure and precious person!
The message of this film can't be overstated. It's very hard to watch at times with the dark subject matter, but I'm glad you posted the reaction.
What a wonderful reaction your best ever in my opinion, your final comments were articulate in spite of your obvious emotion, I agree 100% with your summation, movies like this don't come along everyday and should be shown in schools.❤
Thank you, glad you liked the reaction
I enjoyed and agreed with BissFlix's statements at the end of this video on life and human nature and I see eye to eye with them. She rocked on that statement in this one!
I think anyone that is watching this should watch the whole movie not in little parts like this
She does watch the whole movie.
It is edited down for UA-cam.
She and most reactors have Patreon pages where you can subscribe for small fee to watch the full length reactions that the UA-cam edits are cut from.
@@mokane86 I was talking about all the people watching this reaction. I know she watches it on Patreon
Bliss has the best reactions. 😊
"Little babies mean us no harm they have to be taught to hate, to bulldoze our homes" 🙏🏼✌🏼♥️
This is definitely a difficult movie to fully grasp if you aren't very familiar with the USA's extremely complicated racial & ethnic dynamics, but you did a great job being receptive 👍 Nice reaction
Thank you so much
The guy had a gun so Derek was in his right to shoot and protect his family, but he went too far when he curb stomped the guy on the pavement.
It's a country song but extremely good. But bring tissues. The watch 1883. Tim McGraw "don't take the girl"
Hope you got the black and white part ;) It was how he was seeing life before. And then there was colors.
Pretty heavy subject matter. Thank you for your perspective, Biss.
Thanks for watching
This movie is a hard watch. You never forget it.
es una gran pelicula, me encantó tu reaccion, graciasss
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks
I feel you girl, hate in this times is so deep in the humans that is not a matter of races and religion, is just about money and material things or land is sad
Thank you. Just, thank you.
Thank you for watching
More people need to see this film. It should be required viewing in social studies classes
Skinheads began as a working-class social movement that has gone through a lot of changes since it began in the early '60s in the U.K. By the mid-'80s, it was mostly identified as a neo-nazi movement; at least, here in the U.S. The movement is fractured across a wide spectrum of views, but the far-right and neo-nazi groups dominate the public perception.
Excellent reaction to a powerful movie! I watched it a while back on your Patreon as well. If you guys are on the fence about it give it a try its great.
Thank you so much, glad you liked it
It's a theory that Danny died from revenge because Darik killed the dudes brother on the curb stomp.
I don't think I've ever seen you this disturbed by a film before. It is indeed a powerful, disturbing film.
6:21 they made it B&W because those are Danny's narrations of the essay that falls to the floor onto the bathroom at the end.
Ahh I see, thanks
@@BissFlix there is a movie called Higher Learning that came out around the same time as this and deals with many of the same issues. fyi
They were stealing a truck his father gave him. One of the guys was also ready to blow his head off as soon as he came outside.
Another movie that deals with the race and class issues that you should definitely check out is Crash it's less violent but very well done
One of my favorite movies ever! Very Heavy!... If you like this type of movie, look into " Higher Learning" ...amazing movie with an amazing cast!
Thanks for the suggestion, hopefully someday
Believe it or not America's a f'd up place, glad to see it from another perspective 🙏
Brilliant film
‘Best of enemies’ is another good film I believe everyone should watch. Or read about the true story behind the film at least.
The main actor in this is the guy in fight club.
That curb stomp 😨
The problem with calling offense on game point in the basketball scene is the stakes of the bet. Derek knows that if he wins after calling offense, the black guys are going to have an excuse to fall back on, try to justify going back for a rematch, or just welch on the bet all together. The ONLY way for Derek to MAYBE get the result of the bet that he wants is to not call the foul, give them the ball back, and beat them clean.
You're such a pure good soul. It's kind of sad, bc america is so diverse, but Europeans seem alot less racist
As a Marine and trained with police in San Diego and just lawyer advice. U r taught to kill instead of wound.
Hard to watch and discuss, but a necessary movie to understand that hate/rage is not the solution
Yep
I agree with you 100%!
Thanks for watching
I like the idea expressed in Full Metal Jacket that we are all equally worthless. And then, if we agree on that, maybe we can all try to get better.
thx again for this, glad you made it work for yt
Your opinion on this topic made me cry.
The first ones Derek killed was pure self defence. The last one he broked the neck on the courve wasnt self defence. They were Crips and were at his house door with guns and about to steal his car. So. It was self defence. Only the last kill wasnt self defence.
Powerful movie
The guy who breaks into the house is the same guy who had beef on the basketball courts earlier, it was a deliberate & personalized invasion. A direct threat
Made me laugh when she said "Aim for the legs!"
Center mass always...the rest is up to a higher power, fate, and the will to live😂
One of the best movies ever.. and yes, I'm saying that as a halfbreed and I don't mean his acceptance/convertion.
