I was the assistant engineer at a London studio around 2002 and Gregg used the studio to record "Lovin each day" with Ronan Keating and to listen the mixing of "I can't deny it" by Rod Stewart over ISDN (it was being mixed in New York). He had all his own engineers and didn't need us often. He had been to see Madonna perform and came back to the studio late that night and he kept calling me to bring him more Heineken to the studio, I had been burnt in a accident a couple of years before and he asked what happened and told me about some stuff that he had been through. We sat for hours chatting about life and music, he is a real genuine and unique character, not many like him in the music industry and I think he hated to be around those types. Would love to sit down for another beer with him.
Gregg Alexander’s demo from 20+ years ago is better than anything I’ve heard on the radio in the last 10 years 😂. Unbelievable talent. I love great songwriters, what a talent to have.
A true talented man that rejected popularity and money just because it was not his type. Respect deeply from my heart. You re one of my favourite singers and will forever be!
The "na na na na naaa" in the outro is used in the song "Life Is A Roller Coaster" he wrote for Ronan Keating.. THATS how much of a Gregg Alexander fan I am.. :)
New Radicals music is timeless. If they released any of their music in any decade it would stand the test of time. Everyone keeps asking for a new album. You make it and the fans will do the marketing for you. It's not 90's music, it's music for all times.
FindVegan i hope greag an the boys are listening. This is a perfect album, like: Rumors, Electric lady land, aja, eagles greatest hist 2, MF Horns, stand by sly and the stones, i could go on. Greg could have been one of america's greatest song writers. New radicals could have been one of america's greatest groups. sad what happened to cause their break up.
Like the rest of you I can not understand having so much talent and walking away. Every one of these songs are brilliant. The one about the OD could be a god damn miniseries. It's the most richly layered song I have ever heard. You don't have to write anything more if the system is killing you greg. Just come back and play for the faithful.
I bought this CD way back when it was released in 1998. I was 16 years old. And I bought a bucket hat like that which I wore throughout the Summer of 1999 because I thought Gregg was so cool. ❤️
hey dipstick/ 'new googoo' - this is clearly a DEMO, and contains more heart and soul in it then 99% of the crap out there for real at the moment...Gregg is a genius and even this rough sketch rips my heart to pieces. Gregg- soldier on my friend!!! we need your beautiful songs BAD.
"if you don't believe me just look in my eyes like that" at 1:44 .... is where I basically start getting weepy... the emotion is real. I share the same sadness he exudes in this gem... listened to it over 200 times in the past 5 years...
This guy is a fucking genius, it makes me sad that he has chosen not to give out any more music, although that is probably the reason why he hasn't gone bad. I'm fucking in love with his voice! He makes his music with so much soul and presiscion! And the fact that his tones are sometimes a little off only adds a little life to his songs. todays artists are too scared to miss a note
I have been on this planet for 48 years and I am very passionate about ALL music. I bought this CD when it first came out before it hit kind of big with: You get what you give. What is funny is that i bought the CD because to be honest, I bought so much music back in the day that this was one that i did not have. I remember paying for it and thinking: Well, this was a waste, but at least i bought something. 20 some odd years later this is still one of my top 5 singers, and go to music of all time. His music is like fine wine and gets better, and better with age. So glad that i found the CD that i would replace every other year because i wore it from playing it so much. I am not sure if, MR. Alexander ever reads comments but if you do: Thank you sir! Thanks for over 20 years of being one of my favorite "go to" feel good music of all time, my time.
They should release a deluxe edition of Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too, with bonus tracks such as this, and the B-sides from their singles. Also a few of Alexander's unreleased demos
He could also make a new album, that'd be awesome. Doesn't even have to be a New Radicals reformation, it could be a solo album. (wouldn't be much different anyway)
This will forever be the best album I've ever heard. I saw him perform on Conan when he promoted the album. I still have the performance on VHS somewhere. I watched it over and over again because I didn't have the cd. I saved my allowance for 2 weeks (CDs cost $20 back then) and rushed to the store to buy it. It wasn't long after I heard they were disbanded. This band, this album, this guy's talent will stay with me forever. I still get a kick out of watching people react to hearing New Radicals for the first time. Still finding new fans, almost 20 years after they broke up.
Eres un maestro Gregg Alexander me gusta mas tus canciones cuando eras solista q cuando estabas en new radicals este es uno de mis mejores temas junto a come baby!! del mismo album
Whoa, you have the best quality version of this song I've ever heard. Most of the time it kind of skips in the middle, no matter how many copies I've listened to.
Have you seen the movie Begin Again starring Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo? Gregg Alexander wrote the lyrics to the songs in that movie. He also sang a few songs on the soundtrack under a different name.
+Christopher Jones Do you know what name he used on the film? I'm sure I can figure it out but, just thought I'd ask first. I think I've seen it. I'm such a movie freak that I'll have to take a look at the cover to be sure. ;) Thanks.
CatnipandBones The few tracks that he sings on the soundtrack are listed under "Cessyl Orchestra." As far as the other songs go, they're listed under Keira Knightley, Adam Levine and Cee-Lo Green.

Lucky man, dude's been lowkey and rare to find. Do you happen to still be in touch with him?
Fascinating, I'm writing a book on Gregg, do you have a Facebook or Email I could contact you on to talk about your experience in more depth?
Gregg Alexander’s demo from 20+ years ago is better than anything I’ve heard on the radio in the last 10 years 😂.
Unbelievable talent. I love great songwriters, what a talent to have.
A true talented enigma. Left the business right after SMASHING the charts.
You are 100%. A musical genius
So pissed and heartbroken we only have one album from them 😪
I can't believe this song didn't get released officially in any way. This sounds like hit material
maybe his signature by the songs. pharrell do the same in the intro by almost all his song
Instantly recognisable, shame it became a Ronan Keating song! 😂
You're right, i recognised it too! :)
That's true. A fellow fan actually merged the two songs into one at that point in each song, so that the na na na na naaa's overlap.
Discovered apprantly in 2003
Who's still listening in 2021

Thank you God for giving us Greg Alexnder
He is the gift humanity doesn't deserve.
2024 listeners?
meee
Always!!
Of course
When an unreleased demo gets put on UA-cam, is it technically released? 🤨 What a song ..
I bought this CD way back when it was released in 1998. I was 16 years old. And I bought a bucket hat like that which I wore throughout the Summer of 1999 because I thought Gregg was so cool. ❤️
the 7 people that thumb down this song have no musical soul.
I'm one of the thumbs down. His voice is beyond douche. Great hooks and music, but his voice takes a shit all over it.
How is this guy not more popular?
Perhaps the most genuine, raw song I have heard. I can't believe this has not been used or released.
hey dipstick/ 'new googoo' - this is clearly a DEMO, and contains more heart and soul in it then 99% of the crap out there for real at the moment...Gregg is a genius and even this rough sketch rips my heart to pieces. Gregg- soldier on my friend!!! we need your beautiful songs BAD.
2019 and I'm still here for this song.
Gregg Alexander - you've got the music in you ....... :-)
Just discovered this song. Holy greatness!!
Literally one of my favorite songs, and it's an unreleased demo. I think I came across the demo around 2007, and it's still a regular on my playlist.
If WE were to hear this song being played on a radio station, music in this era will be AWESOME once again.
"if you don't believe me just look in my eyes like that" at 1:44

wish they would. I bet it would be near impossible though considering he sold the rights to some of his songs to different artists I think.
Righteous!
Damn Yes!!!!
This song is magic...make me feel very happy :)
You can really feel the pain in Greggs’s voice when he sings “you’re making love with somebody new”
My favorite singer ever! I could listen to this voice on a continuous loop!
Fuck Gregg is so talented,I would love to hear what else is unreleased,he puts so much feeling into it I get chills
He's got the music in him.

So glad to see this song finally getting some hits.
Reminds me of 2007 when I was in high school. Good times.

Yo no pierdo oportunidad de escuchar esta banda, si hubieran seguido, me gusta ese estilo.
Best songwriter on the planet right now. I wish I knew how to get a hold of him for a film project I'd love him to score.

Beautiful song. Great composer. Regards from Poland. Michael.
This is a DEMO? Hell, it should have be a album track. Was it? Somebody help me.
No it wasn't. Serious blunder, it might be his best track in my opinion!
Eu amo ouvir essa música no carro, e aumento o volume e canto e tô nem aí se os outros estão olhando kkkkkkkk.
Me gustaría tanto haber estado alguna vez en un concierto tuyo.

Awesome tune, Gregg is a wonderful musician and producer.
What's crazy is the lyrics to this are in the cd booklet of the 1998 album.
Yes, that’s how fans figured it was him. 😊
thanks for this Greg. we need more music like this to reignite our soul.
Such a sad and beautiful song all at once. What a musical genius.
This guy really talented, crazy
