To change this, Krishnadevaraya devised a bold strategy. He ordered that once the army crossed the river for battle, their boats should be burned, leaving them with no means of retreat. With no choice but to fight for survival, the soldiers fought fiercely and finally secured victory. This clever tactic demonstrated the king’s deep understanding of human psychology and warfare.
The moral of the story: When there is no escape, people fight with their full potential. Removing the option of retreat forces one to give their absolute best.
