Thank you for the explanations. Now I know why we do them in class and what I'm aiming for. There is such a big difference between delivering a class and actually teaching. I have learnt so much more from your short video than in months of class ❤
What a lovely comment, thank you! We're so glad to hear that this was helpful to understand how to use your pointe shoes and how to improve the point of our toes and feet :)
This is so nice to watch....i starting dancing when i was 3 & did it all, i loved dancing but when i turned 14 i started drifting away from it & eventually quit. 😥 I wish my parents would have pushed me more to stay in but lets be honest it can get a bit expensive so I see y they were buggin me to stay lol anywho I returned to dance in my early 20s just for fun & of course fell in love all over again. Unfortunately I was at work one night & was shot in my ankle, I worked at a bar & some guys got into a fight I was unaware that 1 had a gun & shot through the doors into where I was standing. Although I am ok today I still have some issues for instance nerve damage & cramping big time also I cant point my toes as much as I can on the other foot so I havent went back to any classes but still love to dance with my kids & stuff hopefully I'll get back in a studio soon or on zoom u never know right! Thank you for this & the tips
Hi Tammie, thanks for writing! What a story, I'm sorry to hear you've been through such a traumatic event. I hope you keep the love of ballet alive, keep working on rehab for your foot, and keep thinking of getting back to dancing. I hope you do find your way back to a studio, whether in your living room with me or another teacher, or into a studio! Happy dancing :)
Hello Julie, it would have been even nicer if the camera had shown the foot in tendu derrière as well...but thank you so much for your explanations as always. Now I understand better why we do what we do in pointes class!
I have a question, I see ballet dancers with there foot on the bar and they are reaching toward there feet, I think it a warm up move, does that move have a name? I think it is a beautiful move. Hope I am making sense!! Thanks Keith
Hey! That would just be a combre forward with your leg on the barre! But I agree it is totally beautiful! Here are some more stretching videos that we have on the channel if you are interested! ua-cam.com/video/7UaCO7trNP0/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/GJuCoZIltCw/v-deo.html
Broche Ballet hi, Thank you for your reply, and I am a 57 year old male and have always thought the most beautiful dance was ballet and the most beautiful women were ballet dancers, I believe the term dancer Legs was about ladies like you. And one other question is it better for a ballet dancer to have high arches, does that help? Thanks Keith
@@maddisontdog Sometimes it's helpful to have high arches, but dancers with high arches have to be extra careful about injuries and work really hard to strengthen and support their arches. Ballet is so beautiful, we're glad you love it too!

Thanks for the suggestion! We'll keep it in mind for future videos, but I'm glad this one was still helpful for you! :)
Hi Broche viewers!! I would like to “pointe out” how pretty Julie’s “point” is! This is what I’m working on. No pain, no gain...🩰
Ha, Kim, you're too kind! :) Your feet are beautiful too!
