The Wii was the first system I was able to buy with my own money. And with it I got Twilight Princess. I still have both with me today and I still love them.

Still my favorite Zelda game. I remember watching videos for it back before online video really took off and I loved it. It was so unique and interesting. I was too young to really understand the story but when I revisited it in high school I fell in love all over again. Twilight Princess is my absolute favorite Zelda ever made.

Here is my memory of TP when it came out in 2006, I was in grade 11 at the time, and I had faked a doctor's appointment that morning. I went and got the game, took it home and played it all morning. That was great.
Fast forward to last week, I got done work Friday evening, went and got the game, didn't have time to play it that night. Woke up the next day, had to go to work, came home had other things to attend to, so I still didn't get to play it until 9:00 that night, then I had to go to work the next day, so I couldn't be up too late playing it! So I figure this was my punishment for skipping school 10 years ago lol!

I remember the Wii launch. Me and my dad lined up at 7PM the night before opening at Target and waited the entire night. We were first in line and it was Winter time, in Oregon, during a power-outage. It was an insane night. But, oh man, when we started seeing people JUST coming to line up an our before the store opened in the morning, we just laughed at them when they were turned away as the employees handed out the numbered tickets. The line was probably up to 50-60 people long. It was a special feeling being first in line, and I think that was my first experience lining up for something video game related. Unfortunately we only got Wii Sports with the console, but it was an awesome experience with my Dad and I.
I asked for the Wii for Christmas the year of launch. My parents couldn't find one but they gave me Twilight Princess as a gift. So I had the copy of the game for like a month and half until we finally tracked down a console. The only thing that kept me sane was the ability to flip through the manual. Kids these days don't understand the importance of a physical manual!
Would love to see more long form videos with rob and Johnny playing games and telling relevant (or irrelevant) stories
Can't believe it's been 10 years, loved both the GameCube and the Wii, both hugely underrated systems.

Glad to see Rob back on the show. Love hearing both of your memories, for any game. A good friend of mine at the time bought the Wii and Twilight Princess, and I remember sitting at his place all day with a bunch of friends just marveling at how amazing it was.

Robs been really energetic lately.
My memory of this game? I was studying in Saitama (2007 - 2008) and got the Wii, which was the first time I owned it. It and the Ys games on the Virtual Console were the first games I beat in Japanese. Loved the aesthetic and though it was easy, had a fun time exploring Hyrule. Twilight Princess will always have a special place in my heart.

Twilight Princess was the first Zelda game I had to play without my dad around. The game helped me take my mind off of things and I love it for it. Twilight Princess will always have a special place in my heart and the HD upgrade looks awesome!
My Dad got me this game for Christmas that year. My second favorite Zelda game behind Ocarina. (Breath of the Wild will probably be #1, but I can't rank it till I finish it). Yesterday would have been his 60th birthday. I haven't played my HD Twilight Princess that I got at launch. After watching this and thinking about him yesterday I think it'd be a good time to finally break it open and play it.
Also shout out for the "Hawkin" nickname. Anytime I speak over the phone everyone thinks that's what my name is.

This is the only zelda i have ever beaten, and it took me ironically 12 years i started it when i was in kindergarten and I finished it senior year of high school. Me and my brother thought the game was a fishing game because we could never figure out where to go to progress the story in the beginning for the first couple of years.

Holy shit.... I remember getting Twilight Princess (Nintendo Selects version) for my birthday in 2012. I was a happy 42 year old teenager. I preordered the Wii U version with the wolf Link/Midna Amiibo from Amazon. Got the Prime discount and you know something? I don't even have a Wii U. I hope the NX is backwards compatible because I REALLY don't want to waste my $$$ on a Wii U. Nice vid!

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was game of the year for me in 2006 due to Final Fantasy XII not arriving that year for Europe.

your stories are awesome. I was working at Best buy when the wii came out. Boss told us employees cant hold consoles to buy later. gotta be off the clock. Boss puts one in the office for herself. i take lunch, wii is sold out, i told the cashier there is one more in the office and no one can hold the for later. Boom! Bosses wii for me. lol good times.

never played the original game back in the day (didn't really care for Zelda when I was younger). I now enjoy playing Zelda as a casual game & I got my copy of Twilight Princess HD for my Wii U & I have been putting in 3-6 hours a day (if I can). Right now I'm past the part where you unthaw the Zoras from their icy imprisonment & retrieving all the light from the insects (including the giant one) in Lake Hylia.
The "chuckle" Rob makes at 22:13 and that whole guys dialogue is impressive.

I waited outside a best buy in 20 degree weather for hours to buy a Wii just for twilight princess. Dont regret it.

Tried to get a Wii for years, stocks were always low and I didn't want to pre-order or wait in line. Then one of my friends got one, so I didn't felt like getting one and the forgot about it. The Wii U was a lot easier to get at launch. Went to the store, bought it, that's it.

My memory of this is how much I hated playing as a dog. I never finished it and never played skyward sword. Loved Windwaker and I can't wait to play the new one on Wii U or NX.

Oh wow, that "Geez Luiz" girl sounds uh..."interesting". Reminds me of an "interesting" friend that used to be in my Magic playing group. He was named Brian, and he was a ridiculous human being. My friends and I all can still reference him with a somewhat similar voice that you two do.
I've just finished this game on classic Wii today at 3:30 am (I'm in Brazil). This game is so long, I started playing it two years ago, then I stopped and only continued last week, the disc was still in the console, I haven't turned it on for two years and a month. It's curious that I finished playing now that the Wii U version is being released and I didn't knew that... Anyway, great video, you got a new subscriber.
