I don’t know why but I was so relieved to see the guy that plays George on screen during the interview. It’s like I actually thought he died and I needed to remind myself it was just a fictional character that died, it’s the person that’s still alive
Same
I too had the same thought 😢
He's a guy easy to like.Good actor and not full of himself
Lance may be sad that his character was killed off and no longer has any upcoming scenes...but I imagine he is thrilled to see the love and affection pouring out for his character and is glad to be ... missed.
He may be in flashbacks on Georgie & Mandy show
Pondy’s the coolest
@@claudineh.5425 True. I won't wholly disagree. But he will never be a full fledged cast member any more and anymore than Harry Anderson was a core cast member of Cheers, Colonel Flagg was a core character of MASH, or Tom Selleck was a key player in Friends. Recurring characters just aren't included the way the core actors are. He'll always be welcome in a panel discussion at a convention ... but moving forward he'll be left behind ... to oddly put it. 😋
@@davidely7032 hopefully George has a twin brother we never heard of 😂 Y’know a totally original idea never thought of for a sitcom
@@pickedceasar1216 And the evil twin will harness the genius of Young Sheldon to create a death ray and demand ... one million dollars ... from the UN not to use it! Bwahahahahaha! He'll use that one million dollars to buy frozen yogurt shop and ruin ice cream sales which will cause the dairy industry to turn loose herds of cows that will block traffic and bring commerce to a standstill. That diabolical son of a ... witch. 😉
I wish the big bang show had not made George out to be a bad person . He was one of my favorites.
The Big Bang Theory portrayed him that way LONG before the spin-off was conceived. I'm just glad "Young Sheldon" re-booted him as a likeable character.
@@jasonrodgers9063 ... True, it's a "hindsight" thing.
I got an idea that it was Sheldon coping mechanism to get over death of his father. He could invent these bad memories to move on
@@tatjana7008was thinking the same thing as well
Bad person? How so?
George really was the best character in the entire show, I wish it didn't have to be like this 😢❤ watching the finale without him won't be easy
But Missy and Meemaw are up there for the best ones.
@@FrankSinatrqso is georgie
Aren’t they all brilliant in their own way???

Holy Shite, when he died it was a gut punch. My whole family cried like babies. We're all going to miss this show sooo much! Thank all of you for the best memories. My children and I still watch sitcoms together before bedtime. This show will go down as one of the very best.
me 2 even tho i knew it , it still hurts.
I watched his funeral on the season finale tonight. I cried like a baby.
George Cooper Sr. Is the Jonathan Kent of the Cooper family now. He kept everyone in line.

George and Mary fought and argued light heartedly, unlike how reality arguments are. It's funny to see
hey
My wife and I never had any real bad arguments. We've been married over 20 years and the dumbest thing I ever got angry with her over is how she'd buy and try multiple different skin products and never use them again. Whole closet full of stuff she's only used once and didn't like them. I keep them cause I can't stand throwing that much money in the garbage. I know it's stupid but it what it is. We're past all of that. I guess we haven't argued over anything in years I suppose. I really can't remember anymore cause it's been so long.
In many ways this show was far superior then Big Bang Theory.
The best George scene was when Veronica was staying there and her Mother's boyfriend, Clint (?), came by to drag her back. Clint was manhandling Georgie and George caught the action. George told Clint to put his son down. Clint claimed he and Georgie were just playing. The next thing you heard was a punch and a thud. George is telling Mary to call the police that there is a bum sleeping on the doorstep.😂
Loved that episode!
Something popped up on my timeline on Facebook today. Five years ago today The Big Bang Theory aired its series finale today and Young Sheldon will air its series finale tonight. I'm going to miss Young Sheldon, the show really knew how to tug at your heartstrings and make you cry and laugh. I will miss Ian as Sheldon, in my opinion he was the perfect person to play Sheldon and I can't wait to see more of Ian in future movies or TV he is an amazing actor. The whole cast was just awesome and I will miss watching the show each week. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
I lost my mom when I was a freshman in college in July 2022,and I got the news about my mom's death by a call from a Grandfather when I was on a bus going to an exam centre but when I got the news I was not even able to cry as the bus was super crowded and I cried silently and soberly and I was numb ,I had a similar reaction like Sheldon reaction to his dad death I was also completely numb and silent and I was not even able cry properly as I was in a crowded bus and tears silently rolled my face, and when yesterday I watched this episode it reminded me of that painful day again and I am missing my mom more than ever, I am not even able to sleep at night as I miss my mom desperately
I’m sorry man I hope you’re doing well
3am Phone call from the Charge Nurse at the VA, about my dad. I knew why the phone was ringing before I opened my eyes. Didn't get anymore sleep that night. That day I had to bolt a smile on for my daughter's birthday
I lost my mom 2 years ago and I dream about her constantly it's heartbreaking
My 15yo brother died in 1965, and according to my Dad, Mom shut down emotionally. She had 2 other kids to take care of and about a month pregnant although she apparently didn't know that yet. So she poured everything into taking care of us. Sometime later, they were at the cemetery when a nearby woman said something like "He was so young." That was all it took.
"I don't know that she's coping well"
She definitely isn't according to TBBT:
Georgie: "Mom was a mess, Missy was a dumb teenager. I had to look after both of them"
George is going to go down in TV History as one of the best dads. I'll never forget the pep talk he gave to Sheldon on a video tape once on The Big Bang Theory where he said, "Just because you lose doesn't make you losers. You learn more about who you are and what you're made of from your failure as you do success, maybe more."
Oh how i will miss young sheldon 😢
Atleast Georgie and Mandy have a show coming out this falll ❤❤❤
Get over it.
My family has a history of men being on the autism spectrum and I can see how Sheldon would get it so wrong in the absolutes in Big Bang Theory. His degradation of his father was a coping mechanism. He hadn't really dealt with the loss, even up to the death of Howard's mother. I wonder if this prequel, which we now know is him writing his memoirs much later in life than BBT, is showing that he eventually did grow into dealing with it and is portraying his father's complete nature more accurately now.
He was autistic wayyy before his death wdym . Plus he isn’t too affected by George death
Sheldon isn’t autistic this has been stated before
@@twister2460 I said autism spectrum. He's clearly on the spectrum.
@hz5935 why wouldn't he be affected by his own father's death? Dufuq?
I think the final scene with adult Sheldon and Amy will reconcile the George in the memoir with the George spoken about in the TBBT.
I loved George, he was the kindest man!❤❤❤❤
George was my favorite.. I've lost my husband and this hit hard. He should have made it to the end and had his dream job
Yeah, but in Big Bang Theory they had already killed him off when Sheldon was young. Remember?
by the way folks, tonight marks the 5 year anniversary of the Big Bang Theory series finale! wow, exactly five years ago tonight, on May 16, 2019, and on a Thursday!
Thursday May 16, 2024, remember this day people, now it's the Young Sheldon series finale.
It truly is amazing how a well written show can convince us to mourn make believe characters on a tv show.
Completely adored George Sr.'s cheerful and lighthearted personality. For others like myself who were unaware of The Big Bang Theory, it was truly a devastating turn of events!
Georgies reaction is going to be interesting, his dad had taught him one final lesson a little earlier in the episode and he was off screen when his dad died. In the ad he seemed calm though like he is going to be like his father an care for the family now.
At least we all know that George Loved The Greatest American Rock Band Ever...
LYNYRD SKYNYRD!
FLY ON FREEBIRD!!
Heartbroken over George.
Gosh. Tears are like waterfall..
Just finished this show right now, It’s really sad that it’s over now, but it was such a good show and I’m glad I watched it.
Just to let you know I cried like a baby! Had the same experience twice in 7 years! My husband then my son!💔💔💔🙏🙏🙏😘🙀
As a husband and a father this hit hard. If you followed big bang theory you knew it was coming but seeing how things are going great and how happy he is then bam he just dies.
The sad part is I think George Snr was my favourite character out of all them!! He was truly a nice guy trying to be a good sport on being on everyone's side!! Being on Meemaw's side is questionable but I hope everyone gets what I'm trying to say here!!
It be worse if they showed him dying in the hospital more hurtful
True. The way they did it was more powerful. All is perking along well, then BOOM.
As a 37year of father of 2 and husband of 14 years this episode hit me real hard
Watching it right now, can’t stop crying
The Dad, I love you. And I love you too son. Got me crying.
The fact that there showing his casket makes me cry

Absolutely! I've heard stories of people who started with little to no knowledge but made it out victoriously thanks to Renee Marie Harrison.
I do know Renee M. Harrison, I also have even become successful....
Can’t wait to see Lance in his own show! This man is hilarious.
I cannot wait for the finale
My favorite part was when they were at a thanksgiving dinner and they were shocked by Sheldon’s football knowledge, it showed respect for his father but was told from a child’s perspective that he couldn’t do his homework until after the game. Grin. But he really learned football.
Totally loved the light and jolly character of George Sr. It was really a tragic twist for those who didn't know The Big Bang Theory, like me ! 😞
Good tv show i loved watching it nd im rlly sad to see it go a lot of emotions in the last season
George was only 42? yeah right... I am older than that and I was shocked to find out the actor was only six years older than me, I figured he was in his mid to late 50s
I think it’s a typo, I thought they mentioned in tbbt that he died at 50
My favorite was George. This affected me deeply because I lost my husband. He ought to have persevered and landed his ideal job.
RIP George Cooper Sr.
George Cooper Sr. is dead in the Young Sheldon episode: "Funeral". Also, Mayim Bialik and Jim Parsons appeared in the Young Sheldon episode: "Memoir". Iain Armitage moved from Texas to California after the death of George Cooper Sr.. "R.I.P. George Cooper Sr."
This show was amazing
Recently lost a young girl i have considered a neice since she was about 5 years old. We dont know what happened but she was only 21 and they found her on a sidewalk. She went without oxygen for almost 30 minutes. Pulmonary embolism is what they think but...we are all baffled. She was so young. I havnt been able to process it. My brain cant explain it.
I 'm with you. It didn't have to be this way.♥️
Unrealistically especially with a do-gooder like Mary
George had a history of heart complications and heart attacks but never altered his diet or stopped drinking beer🤔
Sheldon's grandma was the best on the show
I love her as an actor. Remember Designing Women. She was on that also. Plus many many other things.
Sheldon’s grandma also play in .. Pretty in Pink and owned the Record Store.
Petition to make a new season
I miss you George copper
I think the thumbnail is wrong - it was said that George was born somewhere between 1942 and 1944, thus died in his early 50s in 1994.
Also, we know that he is around 6 or 7 years older than Mary. With Georgie being born probably in 1976, Mary would have given birth to him aged 17-18. That is confirmed to be false, because she didn't become a mother so young, but rather in her mid 20s.
bro its just a tv show who gives a shit
These are my thoughts too! Pre Missy, George was apparently 25 when he started seeing Mary who was a senior in high school. The wiki fans page for Young Sheldon has George’s date of birth as being 10th June 1944 and Mary’s in 1950 or 1951…
I love this show I’m sad it’s ending
They looks gorgeous ❤
Besides the great show and fabulous acting, they were smart and too confident during this interview .
im curious if George is gonna be in the intro of ep 13 and ep 14 but ill see at 8 pm!
Sad ❤❤
My best friend recently lost his mother. The problem is her death was completely sudden. No one knew she had bladder cancer, including herself. Now he’s having a very hard time, and I feel terrible I don’t know what to tell him to make it better.
The 2-Part Young Sheldon Finale won't feel the same without George Cooper Sr
My childhood is so ridden
He was only 52.
He should have been about 50 when he died in 1994 with his date of birth being 10th June 1944 per YS wiki fan page.
Missy also states in an episode that he was about 25 when he started seeing Mary who was apparently a senior in high school
I can't believe how much she sounds exactly like her mom here
😢😢
RIP
Mary calling Pastor Rob! Mary calling Pastor Rob!!
They need to make a Young George and Mary 😊😊😊
George really was a good dad. And i am glad to see he didnt actually cheat. Which is the reason sheldon knocks 3 times.
Its okay guys. Sheldon's dad will return as leonards bully in TBBT
Bro I was scrolling on yt shorts and someone spoiled it
Well, according to TBBT George Jr, Mary supposedly became a mess and George Jr will step up for his family and handle things without letting Sheldon worry.
I didn’t see this episode on Netflix, how do I get to see it?
When season 7 releases on Netflix, or when the episode airs on TV
This final episode will be on CBS/ Thursday at 8 PM and 7 PM where I live with my TV recorder ready to go. Do TV recorders exist any more?
It’s on Amazon prime

Mary treated him very bad
How so?
how
No she didn’t . George had carefree attitude , he had a very mediocre job and life , spent half his time binging on the couch with beers
No she didn't.
George was like Peter Griffin ❤️

So sad
Why does lance barber look like George Lucas in this interview
I believe that the whole show (Young Sheldon) was based on Sheldon's Memoirs. He made his Dad out to be a great guy and the role play of his parents was in his memoirs as well. His true realities of what really happened is based on the Big Bang Theory. His writing was to show that he came from a good family and not the reality that was presented to us on The Big Bang Theory. This is why his professors nor Paige was ever mentioned. He wrote a fantasy novel about a Good, Wholesome Family. He made his Meemaw out to be a with it (in Sheldon's mind) granny who had a little danger in her. The whole show (Young Sheldon) is based on a fantasy that Sheldon wrote in his Autobiography.
Wow thats really depressing
No, the autobiography you describe would be lying. That's entirely against Sheldon's personality and values.
Doesn't sound remotely like Sheldon to me.
Saw this from somewhere else:
The memories from TBBT could be due to Sheldon seeing his dad and mom poorly, but YS is what he sees in them after he has kids and telling them about his life
Highly doubt it. It's more like he over exaggerated everything in TBBT and now has finally come to terms with what his family was ACTUALLY like
Before the video commercial that said safe life repairs safe life replace😢
Can anyone tell what's is story of Mary after George death what she is talking about what happens to her emotionally in big bang
🙌🙌🙌🙌💚💚💚💚💚
He had a heart attack nooo
Wishing george will make a cameo even as a ghost or in a dream😅
Just saw the last episodes and was upset as to why they didn't fallow Missy as to were she's going
Lance played Jimmy, a bully in the Big Bang Theory and so he met Old Sheldon. Jimmy lives. And so Lance can still bump into a grown up Sheldon. 😉

He was 50
@duncanmoors5796 his tombstone says he was 42.
@@leahkent3915Lance Barber is 50, George was 42.

I really enjoyed that sitcom very much, much more than The Big Bang Theory. It’s too bad that they had to write off George with a heart attack. I really liked him and I think that he was the funniest one of all.

Dang you Chuck L!!!! We didn’t want this.
Maybe not, but it's been a long time comin.😅
I know it sucks, But George Sr.'s untimely death has been talked about since the original show years ago.
It had to happen, we all that, but I'm just happy they waited till 12th ep, season 7.
So that means George didn't die because one time I saw that I saw a video where George died and then now he's he's alive so I don't know if George Cooper actually died or if that's just like a type of movie
george was only 42😭💔
I thought he was 50
@@kadinbinder1204Yeah, he was born in the early 50s
it says 1952 to 1994 on the tombstone
If George Sr really was dead in the series he wouldn't be helping himself to French toast and calling Leonard Nancy later on
The 1990s had Uncle Phil
The 2010s had George Cooper
That vasec surgery affected his heart.
I heard that Lance Barber was at the funeral sitting in the back of the church dressed as a woman. No joke. The actress that plays Missy has a picture of it
I don't watch big bang - so how does Mary 'end up' ??
Why do they kill George off the show if it gets cancelled 😫😢
