The US Open is the final Grand Slam tournament of the year and takes place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre. The 2023 US Open saw Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and USA’s Coco Gauff claim the men’s and women’s singles titles. It was Djokovic’s 24th Grand Slam title and Gauff’s first Grand Slam title. This match was well contested. Serena had finally got to her normal level after barely playing in 2006. She started her comeback in 2007, and after about 20 months she was back where she belonged. It's a pity Jankovic didn't win a slam. She was very consistent from the mid to late 2000s. She made it to several semi finals, but as we all know winning slams goes beyond talent. There are times you need to be fortunate a bit in addition to being talented. But she had a great career overall.
