Thanks for all you and your crew (and those of other ships) do. If it wasn't for you guys working hard schlepping stuff all over the world, we'd not have what we need. I can't even keep my stovetop clean and here you are cleaning out giant bowls with coal dust. Woof.
Salamat chief, maligayang pasko at bagong taon, ako si justinus isang catholik sailor from Indonesia, always healthy chief an keep making educational vlogs,
I find your videos very rewarding. Chief, it seems like to you like to make sure your crew is happy and enjoying the times between the work.
I find all the different things that go on are more about the crew and less about the work.
and I would guess that many of us who do watch enjoy that most.
I hope you are happy wherever you are in the world at the moment.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Chief and crew.
Happy New Year, Chief! Hopefully in 2022 things will ease up and you will be able to get shore leave again.

Happy new year to yourself and the fmaily and off course all the CRew on the ship
Soooo lucky all of you....wish I could join.....Merry Christmas and many many healthy..happy ..prosperous New year. Why no women staff on board ?

Love ya man..that was beautiful 😎
Great job, Chief!
Thank you sir
For remembering you have UA-cam channel 🥺
Great videos! Why is the helicopter landing zones blurred out?
Keep up the good videos!
The name of the ship is hidden for privacy reasons.
Hello Chief, love your videos.
You were all given so many things lol....
What happens to the residues and rinse water after the cargo holds are cleaned? Are the chemicals pumped into the ocean or do you have to send them to a facility of some type?
Hi guys merry Christmas to you all and have a great new year. I would like to know how do use get rid of the water and coal in side the hull? Do you store it or put it back filters and discharge it into the sea.
Vlog namn kayo habang nag gimik sa bar kaka mis un
Merry Christmas Chief! Question??? When unloading something like coal and it gets down to just a foot or 2 of material left, how do they get the last little bit out?
A payloader is lowered into the cargo hold.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year, bro; for you and all the crew!
How costly could be installing a self cleaning springer system on the haul? Some pipes, a few pumps and voila. Safer, quicker and less expensive. Just saying :p
GOLD MEDAL posting portray the really daily life of Seafarers aboard ship various activities keeping their spirit up especially during the Festival season while far away from home employees are able to connect with local folks over business transaction be able to bring home memorable goods warm feeling all over the vessel happy holiday keep it until next time
Happy New Year Sir
More content this year ✌️✌️
In case you ate picking up edible grains after a delivery of coal or other heavy minerals, what are the considerations and methods that go in for the prevention of contamination of cargo.
Nice video. Question : How did you unload all of that coal ? I saw the loading was easy, but how was unloading done fast ?
Question 2: Let's say you brought in coal and next load to be carried is grains e.g: Soya or some corn. Is that allowed ? Can you carry food grains after coal ?
Holy crap you guys eat good on the holidays!
Did you notice when they started lining up for food, the guy serving the crispy roasted pig rationed the pig skin to a small piece only? Why? Because Filipinos like the skin the best, this way everyone gets to have a piece of that crunchy skin.
Great video Cheif. What is the port's do you stay here in Brasil?
Happy new year Chief!
Just saw some Brazilian beer there. I'm very curious: which ports have you been to in Brazil on the video?
Itaguai.
What happens to the runoff from the cleaning process for the cargo holds?
Happy new year fella
happy mee year chief
👌
Was this your 2021 party? If so, will you have a 2022 party video?
Happy New Year! If your next load is the same as the last one, do you still wash down the holds?
Merry Chrysler
quick question! why do you cover the heloport up?
Brasil 🇧🇷 \o/
Can't get much better than lecheon baboy.
I hope youse get Starlink soon.
Are you still chief engineer? I was thinking sometime back you were going to get your master's license and have your own ship?
I can't be Captain because that's a different career track. Chief Engineer is the highest for the Engineering track. I receive the same salary as the Captain but with less headaches 😄
@@ChiefMAKOi Gotcha. Thanks Chief. I was part of six military on a Military Sealift vessel, the USNS ZEUS, back in 1984.
The chief has put on some weight
what if you celebrated Christmas in the cargo hold
normal nmn yan sir ksi sa brko tau😃
Chief MAKOi in your honest opinion does it look like things at the ports are starting to move and getting better? So much controversial info out there. Thank you sir.
It's a seasonal thing now. Restrictions can be lifted or imposed depending on the situation.
Why is the helipad blurred?
Chief makoi can i ask one used coverall from you? This is Caling Valladolid from phillipines whatching your videos
sana makasampa dn ako🌜🌜🙏🏻
Why is the helicopter landing pad blurred sometimes?
why heli-jet pad isa Blurrud
Man, one thing I have learned from this channel is that there is a lot more , actually an awfully lot more that goes on aboard such a ship than I could have ever imagined. I guess I always figured it was kind of like trucking where they pick up a load and deliver it and job done , but it is far from that. Thank You for sharing these videos and enlightening the rest of Us about Life and work aboard a ship. God Bless You & Your crew , here s to a safe , happy , and productive 2022.
It's a bit like flying cargo internationally. You stay on the aircraft for sometimes a day or more, depending on the cargo, destination, time of flight, and the aircraft configuration. It's just... waaaay longer on a ship.
Big metal stuff carrier go brrrrrrrrrrrr
We can all agreed to that

Gentlemen that looked like an excellent New Year's party especially the pig good job fellows
Cheers to all the seafarers, all around the world, for making things go, no matter what goes on 👍🏽👍🏽 and many thanks to you Chief for bringing all of this to the world🙏🏽🙏🏽
🎉Happy New Year 🎉
Another great Insight into ship life. The crew looked like they had an excellent time over the festive period. Great food and an all-round great atmosphere in the vlog.
Hope you have a great year and get home to your family soon and safe.
Looking forward to your excellent vlogs and amazing look at ship life and shipping in general.👍🏴🇳🇱
Being married to Filipina for 17 years now and having lived in the Philippines I can totally relate to your celebrations and the energy you guys bring to the party.
Happy New Year Chief and to your crew, may the winds be at your back and seas calm this 2022.
Filipinos know how to have fun, that’s for sure. I married my wife in the Philippines, and it was a heckuva party.
There was something about seeing the crew, so many miles from home, from their loved ones still smiling and singing that warmed my heart, and maybe my ocular lubrication valves leaked a wee bit as I reminisced. As a former sailor and trawlerman I know how much the holidays can bring you down. Really nice video Chief. I hope 2022 is a safe, happy and prosperous new year for you and those brave folk who help make the world go round. Regards from Scotland.
It has only just occurred to be that seafarers can go back and forth from winter to summer climate in a matter of a few weeks.
not only that if you are on a east or westbound run you have a timeshift about every 2 days, now imagine all those people ashore complaining every year when winter or summertime is adapted and how 'it messes up their bioritme'....
@@jawadad802 Absolutely! In a regular service between the US west coast and Japan, Korea, HongKong and Taiwan; each day one hour and nobody complaining.
I bet that can be both a blessing and an annoyance.
@@yegfreethinker True, it depends on vessels heading: east or west
@@yegfreethinker depends if your on the 12-04 watch and its either an E or W bound trip....
Enough respect puts all my challenges with a quiet Christmas into perspective.
Hi Chief, My name is Dariusz from Poland. I was seamen for several years, now working for Scanship AS supplies the cruise industry with waste treatment systems all over the world, still related to ships. Watching Your channel I miss the seamen's life, especially when working with the Philippino crew, the best in the world. Keep on going Chieff😉😉Hapy New year.
That was awesome. We would have never known what goes on, the challenges, restrictions, fixes and celebrations. Thank you for sharing. Happy New Year to you, your family and ship mates.
Very nice! I cut short my merchant marine career after 2 voyages through big storms along west coast USA and in the gulf of Alaska with old alcoholic grumpy crew mates. Never achieved my dream of smooth voyages with a happy crew ..... till I viewed your UA-cam’s. Thanks Chief
I absolutely love seeing the happy, smiling faces of the crew members ! It speaks volumes about Chief MAOKi 's ability to ensure the well-being of his crew in spite of schedule uncertainties. It also speaks very highly of the professionalism of crew and their work ethic.
Happy New Year to each and every one of those crew members and to you, Chief MAOKi !
Chief Makoy 👋 👋
Greetings from Greenwich London ⚓️ ⛵️
Cheers 🥂 🍾 🎉🎆2022🎇🎊 👍🌹 🍀
I love your videos. They put a face and a perspective on the goods and services us non sea farers take for granted every day.
My best Christmas at sea was a Philippine crewed ship, it was seafood and suckling pig heaven. Shame we couldn’t have a few real beers 👍 great crew.
Your videos are grate, I'mm in a small vessel, 7 people onboard 3-4ph guys.
Sometimes the work is long, hard and seemingly never ending. There's always something else that needs to be done.
And it's easy to be a little down, when you're so far from home, and family, especially during the holiday season.
But what I see in your videos that really makes me happy, is to see that the crew is, for all their differences or where they're from, they ARE a family!
