Actually, this is Airbase - Theme from The Rock. The bassline is distinctly different from his Ozone - Rock release. But he did produce both tracks; the Ozone version was his sort of updated version.
I have listened to trance music in seven years, and mostly, I can hear which track the remix is made from. When I got this travk, I thought it was one of the gratest trance track I've listened on. I did recall hearing the melody before, but I couldn't just place it. When I saw this movie, I realized what it was. But anyway, this track is not made to earn money, it's because the author wanted to make a track that sounds good, but not resemble the original too much(as all too many people do).
I don't think it takes that much to figure out that it's Alcatraz because this song is from the Movie "The Rock" and The Rock was about some criminals being on Alcatraz with some rockets. 5 Stars due to the awesome song.
Actually, I think the original is far better, but the trance version of this song is good compared to other trance music. Besides, I didn't know that it was the Rock theme, because I failed to hear the similarity. But I agree with you on the matter of restaurant food:P

Oh, I though that "techno" is a term for all the sub-ganres, including trance... Anyway, I agree - although some can benefit from a remix (although I can't name any examples right now), but some songs are better left as they are.

For the record, this song was not done by Airbase at all. It's by a band named "Ozone", and the song is called "Rock (Original Mix)"
Actually, Airbase and Ozone are the same person - a Swedish DJ whose real name is Jesper Söderlund. He has used various pseudonyms in his career.
