I will be the FIRST to say that I was not a fan of John McCain's policies, he almost costed Arizona the Super Bowl for not supporting the MLK JR holiday. But as a MILITARY VETERAN, I would have LOVED to sit and talk with him. I would have loved to get a picture with him and shake his hand!! JOHN MCCAIN WAS INDEED AN AMERICAN HERO!!

Mr Giles very clearly articulates what it means to be an elected official. You stand as a candidate of a political party, but once you are elected, your job is to serve every constituent in that community. See, these are the kinds of Republicans that I don't have a problem with (and I used to work for the Republican party when I was a teen). The ones that even when you disagree with them on policy, they still truly care about the country and the people so it isn't hateful. McCain was an example of that, even when I disagreed with him, he was an honorable man and did what he felt was right for his people, but also for the country as a whole.
