You will get the refund. On Florida's form, it has a spot where you choose to have the refund sent to you or roll it over toward the next quarter. So like having money in the bank for next quarter. Also, Florida doesn't send a refund for less than $10. They roll it over for next quarter.
@@lifeontheroad_ Correct to degree. You should get the $51.53 back. But that doesn't always happen. Such as last quarter, you said you owed $0.34. It all depends on how and where you purchase fuel. You didn't actually make more, because you spent more in fuel tax with where you purchased your fuel. Those states you purchased more fuel that you drove miles returned the tax there. Actually in the long run, it all balances out to $0. If you bought fuel in every state in line with the miles you drove there, you wouldn't owe any IFTA each quarter. But being that never happens exactly, you usually end up with a couple dollars owed or refunded. Example when I go to NY, I run I-81 through W Virginia and Maryland. 12 miles in one and 24 in the other. Well obviously, I don't stop and buy 2 gallons in one state and 3 gallons in the other, so I owe for those states. But doing that, I buy extra fuel for those 36 miles either in Penn or Virginia, so have extra tax there that gets refunded. So they balance. Most quarters, my IFTA is $2 to $3, either owed or refund, but never over $10.
great information! Thank you for sharing it!!The details were hard to see. Are you essentially inputting the miles driven and total amount of gas purchased, by state that you guys drove in, for that reporting period?
IRP is International Registration Plan, which is the apportioned tag as many refer to it as. IFTA is International Fuel Tax Agreement, which is the sharing of fuel taxes bey each state.
@@happypappy6371 got ya. My question is Happy, do i file IRP the same way i file IFTA quarterly. Or its just a flat fee once a year, but i file IFTA miles?
@@fritzduval Aren't you in Florida? If so, when you renew your tag, you list the miles for each state for the previous year and then the state gives that percentage of your tag cost to each of those states. Your tag cost depends on the weight you register your truck at. Miles doesn't effect cost.
Yep I dozed off there for a few. Good info to have though, thank you for another good vlog! God bless❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Great information , I enjoyed watching!
I like that fishing pole reference brother!
The back office side of the business, may be boring, but its important. Not many of the channel's are showing this type of information. So thank you.

Do you have an email contact for dispatching question, if you're still doing that.
Is IRP filed the sameway as IFTA?

@@fritzduval The IRP is just the fee you pay for your tag, 1 time a year.
