Interesting comment. The score is marked crotchet 92 - this is almost dead on it. Les Condon (I was privileged to know him well) once told me that he wished conductors would stick to his tempo markings as they often took the beginning too slowly. Food for thought. Just a fraction too fast at the opening. A slightly slower pace emphasises the triumphal majesty. The performance by Enfield band is just about right
