Being an ex-paradise player, seeing stuff like this is fascinating and a lot of fun. On para a captain leaving the bridge to cult hunt would be yelled at by even the cultists for validhunting (and likely an admin asking why the captain is pretending to be the HoS) and risking handing the station over to whatever book nerd found you first. You were expected to stay in the bridge, tell people the station goal, and call the shuttle or an ERT if sec die. Here I see a captain and his non-round start Blueshield going out and handling business and dealing with station threats with a sword in one hand and a gun in the other. And I can’t wait for the next video.

@@Stanehable while I can’t speak for everyone, for me it was familiarity. I play on Paradise because, when I first wanted to get into SS13, it had the most tutorials for it on UA-cam. At the time, the server was a lot simpler. I learned how to play on Paradise really quick, began to understand features being added, and never really switched to anything else since it would be so daunting to do so.
The way I see it, the cult is _everyone's_ problem, if they wipe out the normal can't or won't fight civilians and convert them, they're only going to aim their sights higher!

they are that way because God personally erased the grippers from their blue-prints. they cannot handle things, so they feel immense spite towards others
SS13 has so many great quotes. One of the funniest ones I heard was during training for various roles so I don't accidentally grief the server (which is surprisingly easy to do as Engi/Atmos apparently). I was learning a little bit of Atmos so I can deal with spacings that happen rather frequently and do a little toxins hopefully so I asked this player how the whole atmos section worked. His response was "Just stare at the pipes until you get it" and left. I later found out literally everyone gets told that.
@@bartudundar3193 that is UNIRONICALLY how I learned atmos. I was pAI'ing, as you do, master was doing atmos, and I sat there. And I stared. And it just clicked.
Virgin cap: takes 2-3 batons from brig and use them as primary weapon Chad Boris cap: break fucking reinf window for lasgun, use his rapier and only once he take out the telescopic baton
You can Tell Livrah is a chad because he wears the best captain drip. This is an objective fact. If you think any other captain outfit is better, you are not only wrong, but also dripless.
I loved that round. I do the maint sweep and enter engineering because its open. I see 3 engies standing bunched up, they all look at me very intensly and i instantly knew something was off. The head engie enters pulls me out before anything happens. I tell engineering guard to pay attention to his departament because somethings off. I go arround the back of the engineering maints and i see 2 of these 3 engineers stand there conspiring. They look at me one of them tries to push me over. i start swinging. stun one, second one trips me but fails to pull out his stunned comrade. Engineering guard enters sees the scuffle starts fighting the second engineer, we stun both cuff one... third missing engie appears behind my back - only airlock in that direction. we drag the two stunned into the brig the third one runs away... Cult equipment in bags. I go check the airlock - nothing there. Im suggesting theres a space base for cult ( the third engie must have come from outside). All engineers and CE are suspected. Ce checks out clean, CE says someone was asking him for eva and construction equipment at the start of the round. I report that. All the time im sweeping maints, find cult runes, theres a lot of runes but cultists seem to be taken care of as fast as tehy are made, they cannot reach a significant overpowering force i eventually take part in the old bar battle which was the highlight of my shift.
You can count it as a "dodge". To avoid laser shots (now nerfed, everything hits), to not fall on the floor after stunbaton hit (now nerfed, still drop items from hands) and to not get blocked by other spacemans.
I always hire a bodyguard when I play captain. It almost never works out well, but it’s always entertaining.

i have absolutely no clue why Paradise is so popural. It is literatly a furry discord server just with moving avatars to chat about.
