I would really like to see a camera comparison between these two phones. Or even better, these two plus the pixel. Looking at the photos here, it can sometimes be hard to decide which photo looks best. As one might have the better lighting, but still look more washed out compared to the other. Or one might have better colors and still look blurry.
This video was amazing. I ended up getting the A71 and loved it. I was unfortunately so sad when AT&T phased it out and I was forced to buy a new phone. If not I'd still be using it, it's been so dependable and for the money I'd say it was probably the best "non flagship" phone I've ever used

Also, I've heard people reviewing the A71's macro lens, who say that it's pointless, they obviously think that taking photos is just a matter of clicking the shutter. As someone who takes real photos with real cameras and macro lenses, which can be more expensive than mobile phones, I appreciate the innovation of having a macro lens in a mobile which saves me a lot of time. By the way, I can always zoom in to the subject, but it's not quite the same thing. I suggest that you understand how a macro might be used, because negative comments may well have the effect of putting people off what is actually a really good camera system.
Having a Macro on the go like this is so underrated. The amount of dog noses macro pics i took or beautiful flowers just on the streets this past year is more than 100

I'm a Samsung fan, but I hate their pricing, for some phones a crazy expensive at a bad deal (note 20, A71 5g, US s10 lite) to good value and somewhat cheap (s20 fe, A71)
After watching this is there anyone, who wants to trade my A71 (non 5g version) (in good condition) vs S20FE (also non 5g version if there is one with no 5g) 😅
My (A71 4g) fingerprint scanner works super fast, and since the UI 3 update, my phone is even faster. I picked my phone up for $300. So far I'm very happy with performance.
Its about 300 euros here in Montenegro as well. I'm still in a dilemma whether to go with A71 or to just wait a few weeks and see what did Xiaomi pack inside Poco X3 Pro? Whats your on the A71? How does it feel in day to day use?
@@spooner3452 My model number is SM-A715W 4g. It was a used phone in almost brand new condition. Because of the size, I use it for everything. In my day to day use I still have 30- 40% battery left. But using it as an e-reader drains the battery faster. If I have read for 2 -3 hours, I'll have under 20%. Performance wise I'm coming from a Note 4, which I LOVE!!!! But with no security support I decided to switch. With the new update, it's performing with even faster response time . I have developer options turned on, animation scale set to .5x. I use that setting on ALL my phones. I've only had the phone since FEB 22, but so far I have no complaints. Without a case this phone is lighter than I thought it would be for its size. Just bought a used (like new literally) GS9+ for $278. $278 compared to almost $400 wasted on my A71 a couple months ago. As a real A71 user (COD Mobile to watching movies) I'd say it's a pretty shi**y phone in comparison to old flagships. From the quality of the videos to performance and getting hot after a couple minutes of use. I'd literally open snapchat for 5 minutea and it'd already be hot. Don't waste your money like me on that piece of plastic, either get the FE if you have the money or a RENEWED galaxy s9+ or Note 9 from amazon. Best value for money out there. The A71 wont last you but a couple months for real phone users, had to bend mine for it to charge out of the random, and overall got slower as time passed (A71).
@@anon-iraq2655 yeah I think what happened with mine is I regularly use my phones as flagship level. The A71 was the only exception since it had decent specs and a large screen to body ratio, or else I would've gotten a renewed note 9. A71 isn't made to last longer than an hour watching youtube, 30 minutes of cod mobile play, or taking long videos. It'll get hot towards the camera (cpuc). It's a good phone don't get me wrong, it's just not for everyone 🤷♂️
I’m getting the A71 5G just for a back up phone to my Xs Max, had a chance to trade in my Xs Max and just pay 250 for a S21 plus but I really didn’t want to give up my iPhone so I just bought the A71 5G so I could get my Android fix without loosing my apple addiction. Oh and I paind 300 for the A71.
I have the S20 FE (Exynos version) and A70 and both are excellent phones. The A70 doesn't have a macro lens and neither does the S20 FE but you can easily do macro on the S20 FE by going into Pro mode (works for photo and video) and selecting the macro symbol from the focus dial. You can use a bit of zoom to get even closer and you get excellent results. As I said, both phones are brill. The A70 is the predecessor to the A71 I know but it's very similar.
I have both and for every day use I almost feel like the A71 is the better phone overall. I know the specs say otherwise but it seems to be optimized better. It uses less ram, it has a headphone jack, the display is better, the battery life is better, etc. I just love the camera on the FE and the ability to record in live focus mode. It's a great phone to use for vlogs and the picture quality is amazing. It can probably replace a DSLR in some settings with the right amount of lighting. The camera is the main thing that separates the FE from the A71.
I’ve been thinking of switching from my iPhone XS Max to the Samsung FE, or the s20 plus. I’ve used iPhone for years now but I want something new. Something different. I know the new Samsung’s are better than iPhones. You guys think I should switch is it worth it?
I don't think the FE is worth it if you're paying full price for it, but then again I don't think any flagship is worth it for the price especially considering how good mid-range devices are right now.
I would pick the A71 over the S20FE everytime, especially with the A72 coming out. The price to value ratio is much better, and if I wanted a top-level phone, would pick the S20 or S21. Though they are very similar to the FE, the design of them is much better and worth the extra hundred.
Honestly I get what you mean and agree even though I have the s20fe but there was a promo at AT&T for $360 so i got a great deal (10 months ago) otherwise I would have also gone with the A71 simply because of the headphone jack, though I'm not missing it as much as I thought I would. I have bluetooth buds and just keep a dongle plugged into my headphones.
im from austrlia where the prices for phones are screwed. A standard s20 5g costs 1600 so the fe also is in the early thousands too. not as affordable as you said in the video
As I mentioned on your other video there are some pretty sweet deals to be had on the A71 5G right now because of the A72 introduction. Got mine around 300 and paying over time from Bestbuy and Sprint. Downside is Sprint but got a Tmobile SIM card for Sprint customers.

I don't know much about cameras so help me out, how is 12megapixels better than 64megapixels? I say "better" because of what he said about the FE having a flagship setup
Ok I want to upgrade from my A21. I'm aiming towards an A71 but the only think that really makes me want to get the S20 FE is the wireless charging & perhaps the cameras. Is it worth getting the S20 FE for what I'm looking for or should I just go ahead and get the A71?
Bought my s20 fe today because i had a great S9 since day one. But boy oh boy the s20 fe is literally a flagship with a plastic back and one less camera and the 100x zoom no one ever uses.
Got my s20fe 5g 256/8 for $420usd, not cheap but wayyy better performance and battery life than my note9, and the size is more ergonomic as well. Win Win Win FE circle.
Right now I think the best deal for a samsung phone isn't either of these. The S10 lite with snapdragon 855 and a big 4500 Mah battery is on Amazon for 395 euros, and the A71 for 330 and the S20 FE for upwards of 650 Euros
I just did that. Upgraded from an S9 to the A71 on 4/30. The only con so far, is no wireless charging. But I've got Android 11 right out of the box. S9 probably won't get the newer OS.
This was a really well done comparison video I'm surprised now one else has done this comparison. I just upgraded from the Razer Phone 2 to the S20 FE and I gotta say I am really liking it. I miss the 1440p screen of the Razer Phone 2 and would have rather had that on the S20 FE then the 120hz refresh rate which I don't really feel at all. When it comes to the materials of the phones I actually am liking the matte plastic back of the S20 FE more then the glass back of the Razer Phone 2. It just feels a lot less harsh more soft and warm which I like tho visually the Razer Phone 2's finish does look better aestheticaly. I subbed by the way 😉
I wish the new phones were smaller size. I have an s7 and don't want to upgrade but they soon won't be making updates for it. so what phone can I choose that is android and regular size screen?
A71 camera at 64 M pixel vs a 12 for the S20 FE? I made my choice. Also the option of having preset for zooming are not important as with the a71 is possible a manual zoom without the preset. Four lenses verse 3 of the S20 FE also the aperture of the A71 is 1.8 vs 2.2 of the S20 FE so better the A71. The S20 FE is a better phone (computer) but the A71 has a better camera.
Dont forget though that software plays a big role on how the picture will look and image processing is handled by the chip. Yhe s20 fe will take amazing photos because of the sd865 and even though the a71 does have a higher mp sensor it doesnt mean its always gonna look the best. I would suggest watching a comparison and not choosing based on the specs alone.
T-Mobile locked A71 5G was down to like $300-400 a couple of days ago with bonus trade-in and hidden $100 coupon. No contract or new line required directly from Samsung.
Mine is an S8+. Would you suggest I go for A71 or S20FE? Am on a budget. But would definitely love “quality”. Am not much into taking pics. Pls advice. Thank you.
The a71's chip is the snapdragon 730. The s20 fe, exynos is the 990 version, which is 24 % faster. Tho the a71 does have 8gb of ram where the s20fe has 6gb ram. But the cpu memory more than makes up for that gap. Because they have the same battery size, basically, when it comes to specs, the largest difference is the screen. Of course the s20fe is more refined and less janky.
my man,who are you trying to confince?i had both phones, currently with the FE.that fe is so far ahead of that a71.sorry,the fe is worth its price.if i was considering a a71,id rather save more money and get a a51.nuff said
At this point I've used both of these phones for months and this might be surprising to you guys, but I believe the A71 is a better phone overall. It's better in every area with the exception of the camera. I know the specs say other wise, but I value daily usage over specs. As far as the 120hz display, it's just a gimmick. It makes scrolling look better, but no one scrolls for pleasure. Videos look better on the A71 because the display is slightly better in my opinion. Go with the FE if the camera is your main priority. If the camera isn't a priority go with the A71. It's a better phone overall.
I've owned the A71 for a year now and all I can say is, choosing this phone was a mistake. I use the camera quite a lot on my phones and this one has got to be one of the poorest cameras I've ever had. Huge lag on the shutter speed and you really have to keep the phone extremely stable, in order to get a sharp photo. Even when I succeed in taking a good photo, the camera creates this horrible blur effect on the edges of the picture. Even tough I'm happy with the phone on every other aspect, I just can't recommend it to anyone, simply because of the camera.
I'm not happy with the a71 either. The wifi connection is very bad. It keeps turning off and then back on. Very annoying. Family members with other phones do not have this problem at all.
@@larissameek6687 I never had a problem with the wifi connection on it. There are a lot of different versions of that phone so I'm not sure which one you have. I had the Latin American version with a snapdragon processor. Everything was great on it. I updated to the A52 though because I like smaller phones and the A52 is a great phone as well. I never had any issues with the A series aside from the A51 with the exynos processor. I'm not a fan of the processor on that phone.

im gonna get it nex week man..exated af
I'm sure it's a great phone, personally I hope I get the Fe because it has features that I find useful :)
The back of the s20fe is polycarbonate. It also has a metal body they actually aren't alike at all. You forgot to mention both
When gaming the Fe runs way cooler with mmorpg/moba games with HFR mode on the a71 got really toasty and that made me worry a bit.
I wouldn't expect it to have as good of a cooling system
My daughter and I, bought both of these phones on the same day. A71 5G for me; S20 FE 5G for her. Both have pros and cons. No wireless charging on mine. Mine has 4 camera lenses .vs her 3. Neither of us have put the cameras to full use, as we got them on 4/30. I upgraded from a S9, .vs a S7 for my daughter. We both like our phones.
If you have an old flagship then the S20 FE can be gotten at an insanely low price. Don't miss out on the offer.
It's a fantastic phone.
Great black friday deal too
Got one for $49
Im trying to upgrade my A71.Which one do you recomend in 2023?
It would be helpful if you labelled which phone is which while you show us the comparisons. Thank you so much for this video! I went with the FE.

I sound like a commercial, lololol.
Bottom line I really like this phone so far, I'm hoping I get to where I love it like my Note.
The only issue I have is using data. It sucks, it feels like DIAL UP sometimes and that's no joke. I'm using Mint mobile, and so far I'm EXTREMELY unhappy with my data speed. I'm going to call and talk to them and find out if it's them or my phone. Lol, if its this phone, well, I'm not sure what I'll do. 😊
I have a71 and it only got hot near the camera when i watched a stream over discord for a long time, i regularly watch movies on it
@@anon-iraq2655 yeah I think what happened with mine is I regularly use my phones as flagship level.
@Kenzie Gegantoca Good choice. Still a shitty phone for meh.
@Kenzie Gegantoca that isnt competition to anything..
Does your phone overheat on your S20 FE?
i think if your really on a budget A71 is BEST DEAL. if you can spend a little bit more definitely S20 FE because the camera is better.
4:30 Have DeX not on A71

I was gonna buy a A71 but I bought a S20 FE red one. Love it so much. I feel it's worth it 💯
I don't think the FE is worth it if you're paying full price for it, but then again I don't think any flagship is worth it for the price especially considering how good mid-range devices are right now.
The s20 Fe is so much better
Currently switching from A71 to S20 FE so this video helped a lot.
My S20 FE is just awesome, photos are really sharp in detail. Thanks mate for the detailed review of both good phones.
im from austrlia where the prices for phones are screwed. A standard s20 5g costs 1600 so the fe also is in the early thousands too. not as affordable as you said in the video
You think in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand etc are cheap? Given the standard living cost and salary 😅 get a grip.
You can buy cheaper at Malaysia.... but the charger is different than Aus.

As I mentioned on your other video there are some pretty sweet deals to be had on the A71 5G right now because of the A72 introduction. Got mine around 300 and paying over time from Bestbuy and Sprint. Downside is Sprint but got a Tmobile SIM card for Sprint customers.

I just did that. Upgraded from an S9 to the A71 on 4/30. The only con so far, is no wireless charging. But I've got Android 11 right out of the box. S9 probably won't get the newer OS.
In India S20 FE is 40,000 INR I.e. 550 USD. But processor is exynos 990 not SD 865
I subbed by the way 😉
My mom has the a71 and I just got a s20fe 4g for 410$ US, I don't have the 5g in my area is it a good deal?
This is what i've been waiting for...
You could make a video showing the battery life test? Of the s20 FE
But what if the s20fe is the exynos variant, which should I pick?
EXACTLY what I was thinking BRO your a genius I can tell you did lots of research! THX HELPED LOTS!
Mine is an S8+. Would you suggest I go for A71 or S20FE? Am on a budget. But would definitely love “quality”. Am not much into taking pics. Pls advice. Thank you.
A71 if the camera and water-resistance don't matter much to you.
@@rollingstart_90s it's not a great camera, but it wasn't bad either. It's just average for a mid-range phone in my opinion.
