      You can use a 100Hz monitor with a PS5. Is it ideal? Not really, as you won't get the full 120fps experience, I think it'll run at 60fps (I don't have a PS5 to do the test myself). So if you do want the most fps get a monitor with refresh rate equal or greater than 120Hz

      @jackalldiytech  7 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for the question. It did not have any negative effect on me when using the monitor for a long period of time and at night. I did change the color a bit by lowering the green channel to 46 and blue channel to 45 - this was only done based on what I perceive as I don't have a monitor calibration tool.
      With all monitors you can adjust the contrast/brightness/gamma. You can also use a tool such as f.lux if you use the monitor at night, as it will adjust it's color/brightness based on your time.

    Do you think there is a significant difference between this and an LG ultragear 24GQ50F?

    • @jackalldiytech
      @jackalldiytech  3 місяці тому +1

      There is a significant difference, spec wise: The ultragear has a VA panel, 144Hz over HDMI and 165Hz over DP, true 8bit, 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x DisplayPort 1.2
      Price is $140-150? Which is almost double so it should be a better monitor.
      For similar specs to the ultragear and possibly even lower price you could look into KTC H24T09P. The geekbuying website usually has good deals on these monitors, but if you want to get even better deals you have to be subscribed to their newsletter.

      Hey, the intel iris Xe iGPU should be able to run at more than 60Hz when using an external monitor. The fps you get will depend on the games you play and the graphics settings. League of Legends should be able to max out the monitor refresh rate, even with the iGPU.

      You're welcome. This is a great monitor for the price, maybe there'll be monitors for even less by the end of the year.
      The next step up would be a 24" monitor with 144Hz or more. And the "end game" would be a 27" monitor with 2560x1440px resolution at 144Hz or more. Which you can already buy new for less than $200 (I just released a TOP 5 video), but for that kind of a monitor you also need a good GPU if you want to play games at max resolution and 144+ fps.

    Hello does it support Gsync? Or gsync option can be seen on nvidea panel?

    • @jackalldiytech
      @jackalldiytech  7 місяців тому

      Hi, this monitor does not have G-Sync support, since that feature costs extra money and this is a cheap monitor. However, it does support Free-Sync, but you may need to be enabled it in the monitor settings.

    • @waikelobis542
      @waikelobis542 6 місяців тому +2

      This monitor support adaptive syncs, it means you can have to use both of freesync and G-Sync.

    • @jackalldiytech
      @jackalldiytech  6 місяців тому

      True, FreeSync is AdpativeSync (it's just a marketing ploy) which means you can also use it with nVidia GPUs (as I do). However, if you go into the nVidia control panel you will not see the G-Sync option. So it does not have G-Sync as G-Sync is nVidia proprietary and costs extra money if manufacturer want's to include it, which they won't do for a cheap monitor, at least not at this point in time.
      However, that is the information that I have, I might be wrong so feel free to correct me.

    • @BenTiredson
      @BenTiredson Місяць тому

      @@jackalldiytechWell, it has FreeSync/AdaptiveSync. Yes you are right, it works on nvidia gpu though theoretically it suppose to have the GSYNC option popping up on the control panel since it could do FreeSync eventhough the monitor is not validated for gsync support.
      Though, the reason behind this is nvidia are ass for hardware locking it and needing specific requirements like it requires a 1000 series or newer gpu and only works on DisplayPort. Sadly, this monitor only has Hdmi so that's why the "setup gsync" wouldn't show up.
      I tested a bunch of FreeSync monitors on nvidia gpus. Most of the cases the "setup gsync" doesn't show up when you are using hdmi or dvi-d connections.

      @jackalldiytech  3 місяці тому

      Hey, thanks for the question. This monitor only has 1 HDMI port, so as it is you could only connect 1 device at a time (switching cables). You can however avoid that by getting an HDMI 2 in 1 switcher. Since the cheapest HDMI switch costs like $6-12 you could also look into monitors with 2 HDMI ports.
      Since you mentioned ps5, you will probably want a monitor with more than 120hz if you want 120fps, otherwise you will be limited to 60fps on the ps5. You can look at my last 2 videos for cheap 24 and 27 inch monitors with 144Hz or more, the cheapest one being $100 on Amazon US (ktc h24t09p).

      Hi, free-sync is a better alternative to v-sync. Though some people say you should set your maximum refresh rate to 1-3 fps below the maximum monitor refresh rate, otherwise you can get screen tearing if your PC can push past the monitors maximum fps limit. I use free-sync without the -1 to -3 fps cap and I don't see any problems.

HOWEVER, there is a day and night difference if you use the audio from the monitor or if you use audio from your motherboard (the motherboard sounds a lot better).
      To put it in perspective, the monitor audio sounds flat but it'll work if you need it as an emergency. But I would not use the monitor audio long term.

    I am quite happy with this monitor, although I will have to get used to the size, since I use it on a 14-inch notebook and the change is gigantic xD

      Hello Javier. I can only imagine what a big difference in size it is. As for my recommendation, it would have to be the colour accuracy. The cheapest way to adjust a monitor is to take a piece of white paper and put it over/besides the panel, then lower the R,G,B values until it is close to the paper white. Also, only lower the RGB values by a few points, as that will give you the best result.

    Can I use Xbox series s with it? Like how we do with the tv

    • @jackalldiytech
      @jackalldiytech  3 місяці тому

      Hey, of course you can use it with a console. However, if your plan is to play games at 120fps, then you'll need a monitor/tv that has at least 120Hz.
      In this case even though the monitor supports 100Hz, you would be able to play games on consoles only at 60fps and not 100fps, as that is not supported by consoles as far as I am aware.

      Yes, it comes with an HDMI cable, and you should use it if you have problems with any other cables you might want to use.

      The monitor does have tilt, maybe yours is just stiff. You can remove the stand and try to move the mounting point by hand

    Would a ps4 work I don’t know the ps4 hertz and want a budget monitor for Fortnite

    • @jackalldiytech
      @jackalldiytech  28 днів тому

      Will the monitor work? Yes. However, you probably want to play the games at max fps, which I believe is 120 for the consoles. Unfortunately, since the monitor is only 100Hz it means that you can only play games at 60Hz (consoles either play at 60 or 120Hz). So for console gaming you want a monitor with at least 120Hz. I'll have to check if there is any cheap and decent console monitors.

    Does this monitor have speakers?

    • @jackalldiytech
      @jackalldiytech  8 місяців тому +6

      There are no speakers as mentioned in the video when I did the sound test, but you do have a 3.5mm audio output. So you can use headphones, or speakers if you have them, but in that case the onboard motherboard audio is probably higher quality.
      Most cheap monitors in the $80 range have the same outputs 1xHDMI, 1x D-SUB, 1x 3.5mm audio output and no speakers. Depending on where you live you can also get some great deals, I saw a dell monitor 24" - IPS - 165Hz - 1ms - with 2 HDMI and DP outputs for $110. But that one too had no speakers, so if speakers are a must on the cheapest of 24" monitor then you will have to look around or find a good deal. If you're from Europe you can look on mydealz.de under the electronics section

    • @jackalldiytech

      It doesn't have 90 degree rotation as the stand is very basic, no height adjustment as well. But you can tilt it forward and backwards.

      I am aware that the economy is different in every country and sadly countries, like Brazil, get hit harder due to low income. There is inflation, which makes everything even more expensive. And then there is also the import tax that some countries have extremely high. So for humans that want a different lifestyle a change must be made, in this case a higher paying job and/or relocation to another country. However, you could also find something that you like doing and is in demand, sell your products/services, and also make videos on UA-cam to show how something is done and promote your business.

    Is it good for gaming?

    • @jackalldiytech
      @jackalldiytech  6 місяців тому

      It is good for games, that is why I bought it. I have tested it with multiple FPS games and various Action RPGs. FreeSync (AdaptiveSync) helps prevent any screen tearing and 100Hz is a lot better than 60 or even 75.

      It is 100Hz over HDMI and supposedly 75Hz over analog. But I don't have an appropriate GPU or adapters to test the VGA refresh rate.
