- In conversation with Dr Mohan Agashe. Dr Mohan Agashe (born 23 July 1947) is and Indian theater and film actor. He was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1996
Mohan Agashe studied in B.J.Medical College Pune for his MBBS and PG degree in Psychiatry. He had been a student of eminent psychiatrist Dr. D.N.Nandy. But during his medical college years in Pune, he fell in love with theatre by Utpal Dutt.
Mohan Agashe served as a Professor of Psychiatry at the B.J. Medical College and Sassoon Hospital in Pune. Apart from his medical career, he also worked in the fields of clinical psychology and psychopharmacology. Agashe started his early career by opting to work in The Government Hospital at Pune. He had the honor of chairing the Organizing Committee meetings for the Annual National Conference of Indian Psychiatric Society held at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune.
Agashe was a founding Director of Maharashtra Institute of Mental Health. His students have progressed in their careers to become renowned psychiatrists in India, the UK and the United States.
Agashe was also instrumental in establishing the Maharashtra Institute of Mental Health in 1991, a state level training and research institute in Mental Health Sciences, located in Pune India.
A research project was initiated by the Indian Council if Medical Research following the 1993 Latur Earthquake and Agashe was assigned as principal investigator to understand mental health effects of the event.
In 1998, Agashe's project to improve the mental health education and service led to the formation of a new policy on mental education by the Government of Maharashtra. He has also served as an Advisor to the Government of Maharashtra on Mental Health Education and Service.
Agashe is presently the Principal Investigator for an Indo-US joint project on Cultural Disorders of Fatigue and Weaknesses.
Agashe's love of acting made him take time out of his busy schedule to work in plays. He started his career in acting by working in plays. During April 1997 to April 2002, he was made the Director General of the FTII, Pune

I have watched this after 3 years of airing, Yet its one of the best interviews.
Both at their intellectual best. Refreshing video. Watching five years after it was aired.

कि जो (लोग) कमाते हैं, खर्चा मेरे ऊपर करें।"

I have missed this gem of an interview for so long. By far the best episode ever. Nothing about acting just about life itself. So much to learn from Dr Agase ji's philosophy. 45 min of life lesson. Kudos to Irfan ji for such amazing questions and arranging this for us.

rishtey... tammna.... aspiration..... health without mental health is not possible.... only well-tuned instrument create music.... dil maange more ka Rog..... sab kuch hote hue bhi kuch na hone ki modernity.... without knowing ourself.... create the problem of thoughts and emotions.... accommodation of social accommodation is getting lower.... decrease in patience..... our centre must not be i ..... as we r part of the whole... not the world is around i .....doing something for others is the only bliss... you can only enjoy ur happiness only with others... we must know your ability as well as your interest.... the problem will always be there... but by knowing yourself the power of facing the problem will become easy... we all may not require clinical attention... but we all require a counsellor... and the best counsellor of is within you....
