Turner, a Democratic lobbyist from Tenafly, has resigned as a commissioner from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, after an investigation was opened into what agency officials would only describe as "profoundly disturbing conduct." Turner's resignation allegedly involved her intervention in a recent traffic stop in connection with her daughter. Turner apparently flashed her Port Authority badge in an effort to intercede with police officers on the scene.

On a federal level you cannot be punished for exercising your right to voice displeasure towards an elected official or other government representative as long as you are not threatening or inciting violence. However, some States and cities have anti-obscenity laws that make it a punishable offense to use profanity in public settings, but that isn’t usually the case.

The boyfriend/ driver politely asked the officer several times to walk him through the next steps to take, listened attentively, and later thanked the officers.
Caren Turner was actually rude to the boyfriend by not turning to him for the information he had collected from the officers. She denied him his responsible role.
The boyfriend was also going to have this event on his record for driving an unregistered car, and a significant fine to pay.

This is the first time that I have wanted the full police video and I must say that feel these officers more then earned their paycheque. The police and the students had everything in control. That mother deserved to lose her job. One other thought, if the driver is over 18, it may have violated his rights if the officer had gotten into a discussion about his situation.

Yeah, on one hand it’s obviously not her fault how she was raised. And she was definitely a lot more respectful than her mom. But from all the talk about Yale, to the three houses, I think it’s clear that this family was either born in to money and could get away with not worrying too much about many of the problem of the real world, or this Commissioner was VERY comfortable getting anything she wanted for herself and her family including houses and school from her power, or both. Sometimes it is the cops who are bullying, sometimes it's a guy at work, and in this case it's mother with a kid who goes to an ivy league school. More often it is people with some power who get angry when others do not submit and obey.

So I guess I cut him some slacks. The point is, just because they are well educated, doesn't mean we should expect them to know everything.
These two police officers have incredible integrity and class. They could've started threatening her with arrest if she didn't stop verbally lambasting them and leave the scene immediately but they did not. In spite of her disrespecting them with all kinds or profanity, name-calling, and threatening them by suggesting she was going to get them fired if they didn't give in to her demands, these officers stayed calm the entire time and did not get angry or lose their temper as I have seen other police officers do. If you want to be a LEO, you have to have thick skin and not ever take anything that anyone ever says bad about you personal. You let the insults bounce right off of you and not get angry. They did a great job of that.
Imagine this is your mother and how she conducts and demands her position.
My father had alot more connections, and higher ups than a commissioner, and was always put in my place when I was wrong.

sassy .. Not true. Just saw a traffic stop on our local news of the entitled county supervisor from Stone Mountain, Georgia. The traffic stop was in the city limits and it involved her employee. The Black lady (Supervisor) ranted and even filed a complaint on the officer. It wasn’t even her traffic stop. It just happened outside where they work. She interjected herself where she didn’t need to be. Thank God for body cam. She lost her job and was also arrested for filing a false complaint. She was fined but no jail time was given. This happens with all races. Granted, this lady on this video was very mouthy and disrespectful and I’m glad she was asked to resign. Some people in city/county government, do feel entitlement and/or above the law. Feel free to google my hometown (Dekalb County, Georgia).
