I think everyone takes for granted how much work these videos take to make. Sonikks has to be live recording, be paying reasonably moderate attention to the game and play patiently for hours on end just to get one shiny Pokémon. 28,000+ encounters isn't something you can just do on your lunch break, it takes a ton of effort and dedication.
For sure. I'm on 1,898 RE for a feebas on phase 2 (2,778 in total) and even that has taken me a few weeks to get to since it's on and off. Dude has so much dedication for shinies it's insane! Love to see his hunts tho. They're nice

This reminds of three years ago when I was playing Pokémon Silver on my 3DS and I found a wild shiny Drowzee on Route 34 and 30 minutes later a wild shiny Graveler at Victory Road. Thankfully, the shiny Graveler did not Self-destruct!

Look at those FPS, the quality of the recording is just satisfying! Also, I'm in love with that ID, I mean, what are the odds of getting a palyndrome? I'm getting a Pokemon Sapphire soon and I'd want to SR in order to get a nice ID, specially a palindrome! And about the spearows, you know, my first full odds were 2 male combees wich had a 10% encounter ratio. It sucks to have 3 shiny spearows, but at least you can evolve them! 😂
Kinda unlucky for you getting 3 phases, but glad you were able to get the Evans. Spearow was actually my first ever shiny. I found him in soul silver while being bored and just going around. I was fairly young, but I did notice that it was weirder than a normal spearow, and normal Pokémon at that, so I was able to catch it and evolve it. Anyways, good luck on finishing your dream team!

Yesterday I was poke radar chaining in renegade platinum (rom hack with 1/4096 of finding a shiny) and I ended up finding a shiny slowpoke in what I believe wasn’t a shiny patch, then while training my mons about five encounters later I found a shiny teddiursa. What I’m trying to say was that I will transfer my shiny luck onto you with all my might. Good luck on the ekans!!!
This reminds me of my Shiny Oddish, I went over to the safari zone I’m Ruby to get SolarBeam for my Sceptile so I could abuse Groudon’s ability with it. My first encounter was a little Oddish, and I said I specifically did not want an Oddish. I get Solar Beam, and on my way back out as I look at a map of the safari zone on my computer. I get an encounter and turn to my Ds to run away and it’s a friggin shiny Oddish. Caught him in one Safari Ball and he now sits in the pc as my Sceptile is a great Grass type and I never replace my starter!
Spearow is a gorgeous shiny in gen 3, not gonna lie. I raise and breed birds in real life as a hobby, I'm probably biased so take it with a grain of salt xD Best of luck to you on finding that shiny Ekans soon, Sonikks!
Thank you! That's awesome. I have a question if you don't mind. We have a pigeon that can't fly. We think it has a broken wing. We found it in the back garden in a corner near some plant pots. No vets will look at it, they just want to put it down. Do you have any advice on what to do? We don't know for sure if it's broken but we've tried to release it twice now and each time it just tries to fly but it can't.
@@Sonikks I don't mind it at all! I'll try my best to help. It's sad but it's pretty common for a pigeon mother to abandon a sick child as to prevent her other children from catching the disease. I imagine the poor little guy could have previous issues besides his wing. I've been through situations like that with vets as well, it's sad they don't take birds seriously. Does he have any symptoms besides the wing? Is he eating well? Sleeping well? My recommendation would be vitamins to try and help him recover a little strength. I found that half a boiled egg once a week is pretty good for protein intake. It's important to monitor his behaviour and see if there's anything unusual. Let me know how it goes! Cheers.
Only for SRs, but those are complicated but I do still encourage that you get the game if you want to. Emerald is definitely an interesting game tho. Not plotwise that I know of but with how Soft Reset hunts work.
It's just as simple as doing random encounter hunts only and avoiding reset hunts. The battery is useless in Emerald aside from Berries & Real-Time events such as Shoal Cave/Lottery. I've done a few Emerald hunts on my channel so check those out if you want to.
Keep going until you find it. It's that simple my friend. Keep resetting until it's shiny. Make it a background task, hunt while you do something else and it becomes mindless.

I was hunting a shiny 85% hoot hoot in heartgold, but after 6k sr got a 15% rattata instead :( stopped the hunt for a while to recover from that! Haha.

After 3,421 soft resets i got a Shiny Kyurem in my ultra sun copy (since i got the older one back in 2018 in ultra moon that one for Kyurem was way longer i think it was 5,900 or 6,000 soft resets and without shiny charm this one i had the shiny charm .Next time im gonna go after the last final legendary pokemon i still need in the ultra worm hole and its landerous then after that im gonna soft rest for Shiny surfing pikachu afterwards then maybe shiny hunt soft reset for porygon or Aerodactyl from the gift side of ultra sun ultra moon peace out don';t give up on that ekans shiny my dude!
I feel you I been hunting a shiny dratini or Dragonir on the safari zone and that fishing mecanic sucks lol, I have been trougth five faces already 3 goldens and two seakings lol, so I can top your luck man, it sucks when you dont get what u want, but today I manage to get an aron on rubi doo.... so I gues sometimes the RNG can be nice doo.

I have, I tried to get Shiny Spearow. I have a repro cart, which could affect shiny rates.
@@sethbessinger2025 Repro cartridges dont effect shiny rates, don't worry. It still generates shinies as an emulator or the actual game would; 1/8192
