Madison's emotions in this episode made me emotional. Every feeling I had while watching DBZ as a kid, has returned in force. The shock, the confusion, the anxiety.... The epic build-up continues.
Gohan literally lashing out to try to go to Piccolo's aid even though he knows he's sorely outclassed -- and not caring because Piccolo means more to him -- and Goku trying to hold him back from doing it despite the fact that they both care about him is such a brief yet powerful moment that speaks to the bond the three of them really have. Makes me tear up every single time. Also, even though this is consistently debated, I still think that, narratively, Cell is the best villain in Dragon Ball Z. His introduction, his menacing presence, and his impact upon all of the characters is undeniable.
One of the recurring theme for Dragonball's story is that lots of characters started out as arch-enemy/rival of Goku but eventually become one of the good guys, close friends with bonds so strong that they are basically like family.
I like Frieza the best as a villian. I take nothing from Cell as a villian but he lacked originality. In fact some of his genes came from Frieza. Frieza conquered planets for years and killed way more than Cell.
Cell is 100% the best villain in DBZ. It was because of him that it made them look to reach new heights of power just to beat him. The Android/Cell Saga is the best saga in DBZ.
16:33 *"You are of no value to me anymore, You're just refuse.. Goodbye."* The way Cell delivered that line with no emotion still gives me goosebumps 😮 poor Piccolo
This episode is very well acted… Dameon Clarke’s creepiness as Cell Chris Sabat’s horror and stress as Piccolo Steph Nadolny’s heartbreak as Gohan Very strong performances 👏
Piccolo although a villian initially, mentoring Gohan and then sacrificing to protect Gohan from the Saiyans. And now doing his best for Gohan and Goku as the first line of defence. Inside him Kami the Guardian of the earth, and nail who sacrificed himself to save Guru. Often overlooked because we usually focus only one the Saiyans. Piccolo you are truly a gem! Nah not really. This whole arc people just let cell become perfect. It's actually bad writing contrary to popular opinion. They could've stopped cell 3 different times. Piccolo krillin and vegeta. This arc was horrible
To me Cell saga was so much better than the others. Just something about Cell, new powers and the build up and all was so damn good. It was slow but because of that you got of creepiness, power ups and drama with cool story aspects.
One of my favorite things about this episode is that it highlights the manner of sportsmanship and respect so to speak that both 17 and 18 express towards Piccolo. 17 shows genuine concern for an enemy he's grown to respect and enjoy and 18 appreciates Piccolo's power and is cheering him on in her own way toward the end. Fun fact, when Cell punches Piccolo after he shouts for 17 to run, Cell is actually breaking Piccolo's neck. That's why, after Cell pick him up, his head slumps to the side.
When you consider that the average human has a power level of 5, Cell would have had to absorbed at least half a million of them to make any real impact.
i never understood why goku didnt use instant transmision to evacuate 17 and 18 seemed the smart thing to do since no1 could fight imperfect cell head on at this time OR at least have 16 17 and 18 face him togheter im sure the andoids would see reason with goku just as 17 saw it with piccolo when he saved him
The problem with Cell is that he has Zenkai and Super Saiyan from Goku and Vegeta cells. He's nearly unstoppable for that reason. Very difficult to kill because he can even regrow his body from Piccolo's cells. Just a perfect monster.
You both should really have more of a reflection/outro just to digest the episode. It doesn’t have to be long but it would be nice to hear your thoughts and predictions. Looking forward to more of your reactions!

Cell had after his Power Up a Super Sayian Aura because he has his Cells in it 🔥 (Edit) he remember the meaning of the Aura Color, smart Guy 😁 great Episode with pure emotions 😌 I hope you hug her after this Episode 🙃☺️
Super Saiyan Cell? This was insane! He broke Piccolo's neck.. Even a stronger version of Super Saiyan would not have been enough against Cell. Gohan would have been killed if Goku didn't stop him. It seems that killing Goku was all on Gero's mind and in his Supercomputer.
The shame about piccolo, he is a great character, the Z fighters and the androids have a challenge to overcome. The souls crying out and the skull forming while Cell was powering up was a nice touch. The emotions in this one, Trunks and Vegeta need to step out.
This power-up by Cell is one of the best in all of Dragon Ball. The music, the souls crying out, and the fear on Piccolo’s face just says it all.

When you consider that the average human has a power level of 5, Cell would have had to absorbed at least half a million of them to make any real impact.
i never understood why goku didnt use instant transmision to evacuate 17 and 18
seemed the smart thing to do since no1 could fight imperfect cell head on at this time OR at least have 16 17 and 18 face him togheter
im sure the andoids would see reason with goku just as 17 saw it with piccolo when he saved him
I always thought to myself why was 16 never confused sensing Goku in Cell?
The problem with Cell is that he has Zenkai and Super Saiyan from Goku and Vegeta cells. He's nearly unstoppable for that reason. Very difficult to kill because he can even regrow his body from Piccolo's cells. Just a perfect monster.
You both should really have more of a reflection/outro just to digest the episode. It doesn’t have to be long but it would be nice to hear your thoughts and predictions. Looking forward to more of your reactions!
“Do you feel my overwhelming power? It’s weight? It’s…GIRTH!?”
You guys should jump into Abridged after your run at the Buu Saga. Madison will go from 😱 to 😂😂😂
Cell: I want to gobble you up!
EEEEEWWWWWWWWW EYO
That Gohan Goku scene when piccolo gets one shot by cell you see the pain and meaningful connection that just is just so well done in dbz so emotional.
Cell had after his Power Up a Super Sayian Aura because he has his Cells in it 🔥
(Edit) he remember the meaning of the Aura Color, smart Guy 😁
great Episode with pure emotions 😌
I hope you hug her after this Episode 🙃☺️
Super Saiyan Cell? This was insane! He broke Piccolo's neck.. Even a stronger version of Super Saiyan would not have been enough against Cell. Gohan would have been killed if Goku didn't stop him. It seems that killing Goku was all on Gero's mind and in his Supercomputer.
I love how even 17 is disgusted by cells attack on piccolo
The Super Namek theme is one of my favorite Bruce Faulconer tracks.
The shame about piccolo, he is a great character, the Z fighters and the androids have a challenge to overcome. The souls crying out and the skull forming while Cell was powering up was a nice touch. The emotions in this one, Trunks and Vegeta need to step out.
This one was a tough watch. Love the genuine reactions guys
@Baris Tee Anime Reactions 🤨
This arc is picking up
That technique was called Hellzone Grenade by Piccolo.
When Piccolo did that blast and Cell walk right through it. You knew it was over for Piccolo til DBS.
Gohan's desire to go after cell after Piccolo died... man... that desire... that need.
unforgivable soundtrack will come.
"Tan Dan... Tan... dan... Tan Dan Dan Dan....
Tan Dan... Tan... dan... Tan Dan Dan Dan.... "
I always interpreted this as Cell becoming a Super Saiyan.
Yoooo I never remembered getting emotional for piccolos death but gohan got my ass tearing up
Not cool of Goku to abandon Piccolo like that.
Crazy episode!…And now the wait begins…😭 see y’all tomorrow!
Cell has all of the qualities of a great villian and has them in spades
That move on 13:00 was called the Light Grenade
That punch from Cell was vicious
The move called Light Granade is his strongest move yet
I’ve been looking forward to this episode all week ! I remember seeing this episode when I was younger brought the tears also !
