It is not painful. I am new to the sport so I get sore shins for the first 2km in most races but I love it. You will never get me running 10km but I will happily race walk
Did they start this when they realised they couldn't compete with Kenyans in long distance running events? Although it looks lower impact it probably isn't.

In 45 years of running and cycling I never met anybody who was walking like this. I only saw this in competitions!🤔
Is beacause they usually use Athletics track for training.
