Excellent video! Question for you. What happens if there is only an approx. 100 profile difference between each of the List Clean - 10/11/12/13/14/15 segments I created. I do not see a significant decrease of 500 or so profiles as your example showed. Also, I noticed there is a much easier way to suppress profiles. You can just click on the 3 dots next to the segment name, then choose Suppress Current Members. This way you no longer have to export and import profiles into the suppress list. Thank you!
@@Mark-fc5cj ok, so because you're not sending super frequently, you might not see as dramatic of a drop. Try looking at people who have received 7/8 emails without opening/clicking. If there's still not much of a difference here, I'd just stick with the 10 emails.
When I looked at the profiles who received 7/8/9 emails, I am still seeing the same approx. 100 profile difference. So with that being said, I should suppress at the 10 email list?
Hey Derek, great video, thanks! I had one question, you briefly touched on this but if a contact is suppressed and they come back say 8 months later and purchase. What is the best way to get them back out of unsuppressed and back into a flow / segment to be marketed to?
Good question. If they come back and purchase (and opt-back in) then they will become unsuppressed. If they purchase but don't opt-back in then they'll remain suppressed.
There's not much you can do if they unsubscribe. If you want though, you can have a pop-up directed only at purchasers who are not subscribed offering an incentive to subscribe.
@@itsderekstroh when I said unsubscribe I meant they uncheck the marketing box. So they don’t get added to my newsletter, however I am still able to email them through Klaviyo. when I set up my segments based on your video I found that my list basically shrunk when I started off each segment with those inside my newsletter. What are your thoughts on this. Only market to those who get added to the main list or remove the newsletter filter and market based on all the other factors?
@@DwayneVidzz same kind of idea here, they do need to opt in in order for you to legal be able to email them. Technically, if they have opened/clicked email they would have opted in somewhere as well so the open/clicked filter should be ok depending on how your Shopify opt-ins are feeding into Klaviyo. Do you currently have it feeding into another list?
@@itsderekstroh My opt ins feed into my newsletter, the people that do not opt in but still purchase they land in different segments depending on what actions they have taken
Great question and, logically, you're right. That said, sometimes the pixel that tracks the open doesn't load, is blocked or, if you send text-only emails, doesn't track. If you create a segment with and without the clicks, you'll likely notice there's a difference in the size of the segment.
Eplained so simple and helped me save -$250.00 vs current!!!!
glad it helped!
great video , so clear and easy to learn. Thank you brother !!
Glad it helps man!

great question, what is your send frequency right now? And yessir, they've changed that recently, makes it much easier!
@@itsderekstroh Thanks for the quick response! Approx. 3-5 emails per month.

@@Mark-fc5cj ya, I would start with the 10. You can try sending a text-only email to see if you can re-engage those people prior to doing that

@ ok I figured thanks !!!
can we add a list directly from shopify by downloading the list then uploading it to klaviyo or should the list come through klaviyo to be cleaned?
You can do that or you can integrate/connect the list when you're integrating klaviyo with Shopify.
Thank You for this video!
Of course! Glad it helped 👌
What do you do with emails of customers that purchase but decide to unsubscribe during checkout?

How do i delete someone from a list?
You can go to Profiles --> Click on the profile --> Click email --> Click manually suppress
I have many bots in the list. Can i supress and then delete peolpe in the supress?@@itsderekstroh
if someone opened an email zero times, wouldn't that make clicking an email 0 times redundant?

@@davanterowe you got it man, hope that helps!
any videos on sunset flows? trying to figure out how to harmonize the two
also, "not suppressed" doesn't show up in the dropdown. has klaviyo changed something?
video would have been a lot more helpful if you actually showed what to click on klaviyo
working on an updated video for this exact reason :)
