I've liked this song since the first time I ever heard it, yet, it's the saddest, most influential, most powerful, song I've ever heard. My best friend ever recently passed away suddenly and unexpectedly... out of nowhere. He was like a brother to me. We hung out every day for 26 years.. inseparable... I saw him the day before he passed, smiling, shootin the shit like any and every other day. The next afternoon I literally watched him take his last breath, (cancerous tumor on his brain that was bleeding. They found a bunch more after discovering the one on his brain.). This songs chorus describes the two of us to a tee... It makes me both happy and sad. Happy that I had the privilege of having the best friend anyone could ever have and sad that I lost my best friend ever. Music can be so powerful. It can put you in the greatest mood or make you so sad you just can't continue listening to it....
My dilemma with this song is that it does both at the same time...

My son used to listen to yellow wolf when he was a teenager and was put in prison for drug charges for 10 years. While he was there we would watch his favorite movies and songs in honor of him. I really think this track puts Yelawolf into his own genre. Forget own lane, he's been in his own lane for years and the Hip-hop community has slept on him. Now that he's rocking on his own genre he can branch out to better audiences that will embrace him as the musical genius he is.
