A HUGE fan of the MASSIVE amount of almost unnecessary NOISE in this track. The reverb, distortion, other effects, synth truly fill out this track. These lads have a way about them. Very versatile troupe, these
"Arbitrary" would have served the purpose. The "extra" work and layering on this track actually "make" the track gorgeous. The entire lp is tremendous and is reminiscent of The Cure's "The Top." Both ridiculous lp's, right? Yeah, thought so. Just love what you love. Comparisons are OK, as long as all comparisons are drawn to "other" good tunage. You pick up what I am putting down, I KNOW! I'd like to think the "hiding my face in my hands" line is a call back to I Turned into a Prostitute, "with her fingers in eyelids"/"you said in your hands you'll stay, all with me today". While I personally preferred when James' lyrics were steeped in metaphor I'm proud that he's become confident enough to be more direct with his feelings and himself. Protect these boys at all cost.
