Seit 2007 spielt das Quintett aus der gleichnamigen Stadt in der griechischen Region Epirus einen atmosphärisch-intensiven Mix aus Stoner-, Post- und Psychedelic Rock - schwer riffbasiert und gleichzeitig voller folkloristischer Einflüsse aus ihrer Heimat.
Neben ungewöhnlichen Rhythmen und Polyphonie bringen Villagers Of Ioannina City (VIC) auch Instrumente wie Klarinette, Kaval und Dudelsäcke in die Rockwelt ein. Das Quintett um Sänger und Gitarrist Alex Karametis verbindet ihren Folk Rock-Ansatz mit modernen psychedelischen Formen und kreiert so einen Klang, der einzigartig ist. Wo findet man sonst im Rock Songs mit Klarinetten-Solos?
Seit ihrer Gründung haben VIC bereits auf zahlreichen internationalen Rockfestivals gespielt. In ihrer Heimat sind ihre Konzerte seit Jahren ausverkauft, mittlerweile gelten sie in Europa als einer der heißesten neuen Rock-Acts.

What you hear from the band is traditional Greek Mountain music blended with heavy rock riffs! The bagpipes come from the heroic mountains where the Greek warriors were breathing and defending the country from the ottoman empire in 1821..
But the music represents the heroic hellenic warriors during the ages.. From our ancient past till WWII and even now!
Great, and even the sounds is okay - not like for many other bands at Rock Hard 2022.
This is the music industrial unfornatuly my friend. Sure therar the big bands and respect them ,but ibelieve this band its fantastic!!!!!
@@evagelosdanezis2662 I know! I was referring to the sound quality of the recording. Check some other bands from that festival, many have thin and bad sound quality. Must be the sound or recording engineers, mixing or something, not the bands.

Δευτερον υπηρχαν στους ορθιους ανθρωποι οι οποιοι ηταν παραξενοι και εφευγαν επιδεικτικα για να μειωσουν εσκεμμενα την μπαντα και καναλι εστιαζε σε αυτους. Βγαλτε μονοι σας τι θελει η παγκοσμια μουσικη βιομηχανια. Ελπιζω να καταλαβατε οτι ηταν και θα ειναι η καλυτερη μπαντα και αυτο ενοχλησε πολλους.
