@@QueenofHearts333 No. GRRM messed it up by BREAKING his CONTRACT to write the last 2 Books in a 10 year span. If he just finishes Book 6 in 5 years he FIXES Season 6 and 7.
But what really ruins the TV Show is assholes like you that blame D&D for what GRRM did... or really FAILED to do.
GRRM F'd nearly every Actor, every Behind the Scenes worker and D&D out of 2 YEARS of Income and stability they counted on when they signed a contract to work for 10 seasons not 8. And F'd them all out of another YEAR of income because GOT had to take a GAP year that cost them the chance to to even LOOK for work during most of that year.
Actors don't tend to get steady work all that often and they get type cast by popular shows like this that can cost them jobs because Producers do not want their audience to see Arya or The Hound or Tywin Lannister every time they see an Actor... they want the audience to see the NEW CHARACTER the Actors are portraying.
GRRM F'd ALL sorts of people you like and respect for their work in front of or behind the camera and all you can do is dump on the 2 people GRRM F'd the most. YOU SUCK.

They decided in S4 that the show will have only 7 season, while GRRM wanted 10-11, atleast he convinced them for an 8th season. Just like George said, there was enough material from his books to cover 7 seasons and D and D wanted freedom from the books, so they can try writing on their own, like they said in the S6 Interviews.

I am talking about BEFORE Pre-Production of SEASON 1... the goal was 10 seasons THEN. That decision is made BEFORE season 4. isn't it?

D&D have to 1st get GRRM to agree to there being a show BEFORE they can decide how many seasons and before they can find a distribution (HBO).
They had to decide on how many seasons THEN so that they could even BEGIN to determine what gets CUT and what STAYS from the books. Without enough seasons you might have to cut ALL of Arya... or Sansa... or Tommen... or Brienne just to fit in the Danerys and Jon and Tyrion storylines. As it is they had to cut so much already and had to slap together 3 whole seasons off of NOTES instead of TEXT.
And WHY during or before or after Season 4 did they DECIDE on 7 seasons? Hmm/ Why?
The Answer is GRRM never wrote BOOK 6 and it was TOO LATE to push on to 10 seasons with no BOOK 6 or Book 7. Book 5 has DONE during the same year Season 1 Premieres (I think... I'm not off by more than a year if wrong).
So my POINT STANDS CORRECT that GRRM F'd EVERYONE on the show out of AT LEAST 2 YEARS of INCOME.

bran revealed that he knew they would chose him to be king, meaning he saw everything. so he saw the outcome of telling jon he's a targaryen, which contributed to daenery's madness, which lead to the burning of kings landing. he saw it, didn't say anything and arguably planted seeds that lead to this outcome so his cripple ass can sit on the iron throne.
well think about it. he doesn't want to be lord of winterfell but all of a sudden he'll take the throne. he didn't take the lordship because that title is beneath him. he's the god damn 3 eyed raven, he needs it all. how can i be certain he's a conniving little rat. by the end of the episode, during the small council meeting, he's talking about getting a master of whisper like he ain't already nsa wire tapping everybody on the planet. what you need a master of whisper for, you the 3 eyed raven. putting up a show, a front like he need your help. straight up manipulation tactics. plus nobody will ever be able to dethrone him, he knows your next 3 moves before you do. he can't be poisoned, he can't be beat by military. any plot against him, will be known. he's pretty much god now.
@@dawkinshater101 There should have been a few more scenes this season reminding viewers what Bran's powers are. Example: show Bran keeping the crows from delivering Varys's messages by taking them over. Show Bran going back in time and ringing bells to torment Daenerys.
His coronation just felt like it came from nowhere. He's barely spoken or been seen the whole season.

Right!! Because them dudes multiplied many times over after the battle with the white walkers , when supposedly most all the dothraki were killed, as most of the unsullied too. Now they were all back at full force and then some.

Dany coveted that throne and she died for it. The dragon showed resentment not for Jon, but for the chair.

I don't think that's a "plot twist". I think that's what actually happened. Bran saw everything & then changed it so that he become king instead of the NK, Cersei, Daenarys etc. (Only it didn't happen in the coma after the fall - it happened when he was beyond the wall)

Doesn't matter how the writting the direction was still great. From Drogon's wings in Dany's back to her speech to Dothraki's and unsullied. From Dany's doped childhood story of 1000 swords to jon and Dany's passionate kiss. From Brienne's tears while writting Jaime's story to Jon and Ghost's reunion everything was mind blowing.
Nah the writing sucked. Didnt do the wight walkers justice. Teased and hyped them up from seasons 1 to 7 and then kills them off in season 8 without providing much understanding as to what their intentions were, why were they marching south, etc. They also kind of hyped the golden company in s07 but made them look like a useless army. They got lazy for this last season and was hurrying to just finish it.

I personally LOVED the episode. Everything was amazing.
1. Jon got what he wanted. Tormund always said to him that he belonged in the North. He never wanted to be a king (I think he has said that a zillion times by now), he is just like Aemon Targeryn, he didnt want it though they both were the heirs (Aemon was next in line before Rhaegar). And if you understand, Jon didn't settle in castle black because there is NO nights watch. For the first time in life he got what he wanted. He was free. Tyrion and Bran tricked everyone (Greyworm, Dothraki, Yara, etc.) into believing that they have given Jon a life sentence, whereas Bran knew (He always knows) that Jon wanted to go with free folk (his best friend Tormund and Ghost) and he let him.
2. Sansa got what she always wanted. Season 1 Episode 1, she quoted that she wanted to be a queen. And she got what she deserved.
3. Arya got what she wanted. She always was curious about what's west of westeros (She mentioned it in the ealiers Seasons), and now she will see it.
4.Tyrion was once again honored and got what he always was good at, 'he drinks and he knows things'
5. A Lannistar crippled a star, a lannister crowned a stark (how effing beautiful and poetic that is). All hall bran the broken who obviously knew whats to come. AND YES: Bran played the game of thrones better than everyone else.

What I'm disappointed in is the rushed character development of Jon in regards to Dany.
He loves her so deeply yet she is being corrupted by her own righteousness and lust for power. You see Jon appalled and horrified by her actions and how she is the opposite of him. Totalitarian and ruthless. While Jon is forgiving and and kind.
I think this character development was rushed the most. I can see him struggling and the internal battle he fights between love and duty and how he breaks inside as time goes on.
This should have been more emphasized since it's so pivotal and the buildup to the finale, between Dany and Jon, was so small and short that when he kills her I felt nothing really. It didn't feel emotional or hard. Just rushed and obvious.
Just as rushed as the madness of dany. I mean yeah we have seen her being cruel with her enemies (just like arya, sansa and many others). But always empathetic with normal people. Just 3 episodes ago she sacrificied her army and her easy win for the throne to save the lives of people she didnt know qnd fought alongside jon to defeat the night king. A mad queen who burns innocenct people alife for no reason at all would not risk their claim to the throne for the same people 3 episodes earlier

HBO even said they wanted 10 seasons and honestly season 8 should’ve been all about the Night King with season 9 being about Cersei with Jon killing Dany at the end. Season 10 could then be a short one showing how everything wrapped up and with more info as to everyone gaining their positions. That’s my problem with season 8. Too much shit happened due to stupidity and the writing was trash. I mean for fucks sake they literally skip weeks of the ending.

Only Facts George R R Martin told them the end years ago so and after season 5 they ran out of book material so they sort of made up what happened with GRRM’s outline but I don’t think Martin would find it fitting to have Bran on the throne. Also they foreshadow that Dany will have another kid in the books but the show got rid of that because the writers are stupid and decided to rush the series when they were offered to do two more seasons

Sansas gown has even more hidden details to it. It kind of represents the whole Stark family.
The branch pattern on her breast plate as well as the Weirwood leaves represent the Godswood, a meaningful place for Starks, especially for Eddard.
Sansa's sleeves are covered in a fish scale pattern, which represents the House of Tully, her mother's origin.
The cloak she wears is one sided, like Arya wears hers.
The crown is not a reference to Cersei's crown though. It's a reference to Robb Stark. The symbol of a direwolf holding up the head of another direwolf is alike to the fastening of Robb's cloak on the Red Wedding. It's a symbol for the unity of the Stark family as well and references the "The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives" quote.
There were even more references, to Bran and Jon and so on, I just can't manage to find the original post (or video?) I got this from.
Disagree with all the LoTR parallels. The Iron Throne is it's own thing (as explained by Littlefinger ad nosem) and Dany didn't go mad. She was a ruthless conqueror with compelling motives.
That being said, Sansa's hair and Cersei's dresses have been their own little visual cues. The reason you know Cersei feels safe in The Bells is because she's stopped wearing armor and Sansa's hair always imitates what she wants or who she wants to be. It's loose and down in her coronation.
