Thank you! Being a truck driver, I have a laptop to play FS 22 and watch videos on my downtime. These settings will come in handy. Thank you for all you for helping and entertaining the FS community.

This is very informative video! Thank you for taking the time to collect the data make the video! And then a few questions because i have a hard time understanding it. Are you telling me that you are making videos from your SBC (Single board computer, then i don't have to remember all the names and which one you have)? I have a steam deck and usually when i'm playing on it it's from the shell Valve has made and put on top of the linux OS running the SBC, but to make videos does that mean that you are running the game from the OS itself (i hope this makes sense), doesn't that give you a lot of stuttering in game? doesn't the SBC get extremely hot (my steam deck does). And what software are you then using to record the videos and edit them? I hope this all makes sense and that you can answer. 🙂

The steam deck is a purpose built system running a custom linux OS with steam then running on top of that but you can put it into desktop mod and run it more like a standard linux laptop or desktop. At the hart of it the steam deck as well as any other windows based handheld that I mentioned in the video are laptops that are custom built with controllers and a screen slapped on them and in some cases special apps that make launching games easier than normal windows but they all are running normal windows 11 (aside from the steam deck). For this video I used a mini PC with basicly the same internals as one of the popular windows handhelds to play the game while I used an external capture card to capture the gameplay onto a second mini PC which I then used to edit the video later. I use Adobe Premier Pro for my video editing, I use OBS to record and stream and used an Elgato 4K X to capture the video. I was going to capture gameplay off my handheld but the USBC to HDMI dongle I have which I got on the cheap does not seem to like 60FPS thruput and it was flickering which would have been given the wrong impression.

Your survey on the community tab sparked my interest in these handheld gaming computers. I knew they existed but never really connected the dots between these and something like the Switch. I have a strong Linux background and was looking into the Steam Deck, but now I am thinking a Windows system might be more useful. Definitely thinking about going down this road thanks to you.

Sorry maybe? :) SteamOS is not released for use outside the SteamDeck but there is a fork of it that can be installed on just about anything. It works best with AMD hardware because of course thats whats in the Steam Deck. HoloISO github.com/holoiso-staging/releases

I dont have one but I dont see why not given that my low end test platform is basically the same APU. Of course it will depend on the map, the amount of vehicles and implements in one place, etc.

I can't get my lenova legion go to run 60 fps most of the time but I am on a 16x map. It average 30-40fps most of the time and if I turn on TAA like you suggest I get 15-20fps

Thanks for sharing your settings... but you do not discuss any of the hows, whats, or whys.... A screen shot would had sufficed over this drawn out video. Here's your free comment and a downvote. Won't be subscribing.

I quit this game when they put a limit on how many bales you could have on console after I already had played for months with no issues whatsoever having 100's of them all over my map.
I got so sick and tired of all the restrictions that I feel weren't necessary in the first place so I said screw the game.
I'll think about supporting this game again once 4X maps are allowed on console. If that doesn't happen, they'll never get another 2 cents from me.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't care what they think my console can handle and what it can't. I'll make that determination for myself.
I don't buy the BS statement that Giants supposedly said about caring that it runs good or not. I bought the game, it's not up to them to make that decision for me. If my console can't handle it, I'll delete the map and find one it can handle. Plain and simple.

Microsoft and Sony are the ones putting these restrictions on their console platforms. I doubt Giants had to much say in the matter on the restrictions. Sony and MS are the ones not allowing script mods on their consoles for example. I am hopeful the next version will drop support for the old gen consoles and in doing so 4x maps will work well on the newer gen. Spec wise there on par with mid grade PC's that run 4x fine.

Good vid. 90% went over my head. Maybe a quick one on optimization of desktop pc’s? I’ve spent a lot of time configuring for optimum gameplay but I always wonder if I could do something a little different to make it better.

I have this video already which goes over my settings on my 3080. ua-cam.com/video/_oYBFXpQsMU/v-deo.html Depending on what you have it may help. Is it optimal? For me I ask what you would think is optimal. It works for me to get good frame rates of 60 most of the time while at the same time looking good. The settings in this video at 08:30 work well to provide good frames or consistent 60FPS on lower end hardware. Maybe a hybrid mix of the two settings works for those with cards between low end and med high.
