Wow! This is my favorite build of yours! You did an incredible job on this! The intercom faceplate was a great touch! It was a pleasure following your build of this masterpiece!
@@InterstellarModeler Are you kidding? Thank God you are here and still building! You inspire me to continue my own projects! If you ever want/need a moonbase alpha model, email me at pahvogaton@gmail.com and I'll arrange to ship it to you...I'll never build it.
@@Skkredd Hey Shannon, thanks again. It's a pleasure to know my builds inspire you. I've built an Alpha model before. Had it for a while but finally sold it because I ran out of room. Thanks for the offer though. Have a great day.
@@InterstellarModeler I have mint in box, the entire first run of Auroras Prehistoric scenes which I am saving for my extreme old age since they are snap together. I have one MPC Eagle, Moonbase Alpha, and the reissue of The Voyager from the TV cartoon Fantastic Voyage. I will most likely never build those last 3 so if EVER you want them, they are yours free of charge (if I don't give them to someone else - but I doubt it). Love watching the assembly of kits in the hands of a master!
@@Skkredd Wow....thanks for the generous offer Shannon. Will keep that in mind. I never knew dinosaurs were so popular until I attended Wonderfest last year. I can see why, they're no doubt a lot of fun to detail and paint. Very cool. Thanks again
Another great job Oggie! I always like watching what You come up with and how You overcome challenges. You are an inspiration to the model building community. I Can't wait to see what You build next!
Awesome I never realized your hobby bench is in your garage next to your family transport... Just like my bench! Hahaha very cool builds man thank you.
Yep it sure is.......I am currently building out a new one which will now be in front of the cars so I will have more room. It will be much easier to maneuver around. Thanks for watching, appreciate the kind compliment
Yes I agree....this was the first time i've ever tried anything like this. Will definitely be incorporating sound in future projects. Also if you plan on trying the Electronics123 board, they have an informative tutorial video and written instructions on how to transfer the sound but I will plan on putting a video together at some point. Thanks
I just knew something bad was going to happen when you showed up in a red shirt. You've done a fantastic job with nomad Oggie. Soundboards usually sound tinny but not this one. 👍
Hi, This is an awesome build !!! It's given me lots of ideas for a larger "Nomad" build. Could you explain about the sound card / lights setup AC / DC current ? Where does the AC come from , you just have batteries powering the sound card and lights ? Or are you using both ?? I'm confused
Hi Richard, I wish I could give you a better explanation but I have a pretty basic understanding of electronics. I actually was relaying what was told to me by the folks at evandesigns. I was told to solder one of the leads with the anti-reverse directly to the speaker. This is what they had emailed "there is a little "anti reverse" attached to 1 of the speaker leads you will want to leave that on if possible when you attach the new lights. That little thingie translates the AC that the speaker runs on over to DC for the lights" Not sure if this helps. You might want to contact evandesigns for more explanation. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Thanks again for your comment.
Great video(s) - I am building a full size model...what is the regulator that you used for the LEDs, or please point me in the right directions, Thanks and keep making videos!!!!
The lights were designed by evandesigns.com. You can contact then via their website. Thanks the compliments and for watching. Feel free to send pics of the completed project. Sounds very cool
I've started printing my 3D model of this and am gathering the electronic components. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind as I'm trying to replicate your excellent results. 1) what voltage LED's did you use (3V or 5-12V)? 2) 2) Can you provide more info on the "regulator/reverse current protector" you added to connect the light to the speaker for the voice effect. Is this an off the shelf component? Again, thanks for taking the time to help. Keep up the excellent modeling!!
Hi. I chose prewired 5-12V SMDs. I’m afraid I have no other info regarding the regulator which was provided by Evandesigns.com. Contact Shelly, that’s who helped me. She can give you more specifics. Hope that helps. Send pics of your completed Nomad. Would love to see it, thanks
@@greighn great to hear, look forward to seeing your completed project. One other piece of advice, wait to glue the top antenna till the very end. I didn’t and it broke twice bt accident. Could’ve been avoided had i just wait until it secure on the stand.
Great Work As Per Usual! I’m Impressed with the Electronics! You’ll have to reconstitute your molecular structure through the Transport Buffers! Ha! Ha! What’s the Bet that your Next Project is Going to be the 1/1000 Enterprise from Discovery? Best
Thanks Eugene....luckily Scotty was able to pull me through with the technique you mentioned. :) Yep Enterprise is definitely in the que, thanks for watching
What a fantastic build Oggie! Although a warning label plate needs to be added: No Red Shirts Allowed. Will the heat from the sound board distort the resin cast?
Awesome job! You've motivated me to build one. One question, what board did you use for the sequencing lights? I didn't see a link to that above. Thanks!
greighn hi, thanks for the compliment. It was custom designed by evans designs so no link available but just tell them you want one like this and they’ll put it together for you.
Would be interesting to try and transplant a google home device, or similar device, into this model. Tie in some blinky lights, hang in it the corner with power, and you have a new overlord.
Dude, your attention to detail is mind boggling. Awesome job.
Thank you
Bravo! Great job! Very cool!
I love how the stand makes it seem like Nomad is floating!
Thank you for the compliment 😊
The reflector trick is genius!

I always felt bad for Nomad. It just wanted so much to do the right thing. But those crazy humans kept getting in the way. :) Very cool build.
Thanks Sam
Another awesome build! Now you are ready to construct the Mothership from CE3K with sounds and lights!!!!

Great idea for the dryer sheet. I use them for other crafts and fire starters, but probably would not have thought of painting it for a screen.
