    South America? to get to a River Plate home game, you have to go through 3 security checks, two of which you have to show your ticket.
    THe truth is, many people realized that ALL Copa America stadiums were vulnerable at the entrance gate. I personally know cases of people who got into games, sometimes even hiding their tickets just to test this, and were always able to breach very easily.
    The final was a smaller stadium, and a bigger game. THey shoulda seen it coming. I think you are right, CONMEBOL bought the "No Frills Basic" package for this tournament.

    What about the awful field situation? The fields are in no way near anything that is of international Football standard. For an international Football tournament be played on a Turf is awful and dangerous to the players.

    I don't entirely agree. There were security forces from Florida on site. So there must be those responsible for security both on the US side and at CONMEBOL who should have coordinated. It's naive to say in retrospect, "Oh my God, we didn't see something like that coming," especially when you've known for decades what football is like in some countries. At last year's Belgrade derby, no one came within 300 meters of the stadium without a ticket. 4 (!) controls from the outer perimeter to the stadium gate. And that was just a league game. And of course a ton of police and securities.

    • @FL1PSID3
      @FL1PSID3 4 місяці тому +4

      Concacaf which is the USA organization offered to handle more security services but CONMEBOL refused so they can pocket more money. USA has done security for World Cups, other soccer matches, football games during the season, and many sporting events. No issues like this before.

    Trying to clean the image of the USA putting all the blame on Conmebol (which is a disaster) but you cant host a World Cup with the fields like they had in this Copa America. If you dont want to protect NFL players and let them get injured is your issue, if this happens to Messi again the organization is going to have a big problem.

    Excluding the US from this debacle is hilarious.Cuz they deserve the amount of blame as CONMEBOL.And this just proves that the US is incompetent in hosting major footballing tournaments.Lastly,Klopp and Mourinho ain't wasting their time and skills in coaching a mediocre USMNT.

    • @jaytwosix1305

      The US has already hosted major footballing tournaments, including a World Cup, which currently holds records for the highest overall and per match average attendance in WC history. Just say you don't understand how any of this works.

    • @insanebe1
      @insanebe1 4 місяці тому

      @@jaytwosix1305 That's because of the bigger stadiums, ultimately many fans couldn't go because of the overly restrictive Visa system of the US.
      While attendance was high, there were instances where stadiums were not filled to capacity, especially for less high-profile matches, resulting in half-empty stadiums despite the record attendance.
      Ticket Pricing was also high with many international fans priced out of the event due to added costs of travel and accommodation.
      While USA 94 might hold the record of fan attendance it also holds the record for lowest proportion of foreign overseas fan attendance,
      Approximately 85% local fans, 15% international fans.
      USA 94 was a Fifa World Cup in America, for Americans with only 15% of the crowds from overseas, stadiums were basically full of SuperBowl fans.
      Compare that to say Germany 2006 which was approximately 50% local fans, 50% international fans.
      This is why people doubt the USA is ready for this, I don't know for certain but if it is closer to 50%, they are could have some problems, but then again international fans might be priced out again in which case the stadiums will be full of Super Bowl fans again.

      Yes, we do. Stop trying to stereotype a country the size of Europe. This has nothing to do with the US. CONMEBOL rented those facilities. They are responsible for the security and operations that happen during the tournament, including the quality of the pitches, the referees, security, ticket pricing, etc.. The fact is, you just want to blame Americans.

    The idea that Argentina would've won more if Di Maria was healthy is laughable. They had to go to penalties to win Messi's one world cup. If the Copa was a strong competition like the Euros, they wouldn't have won either of the last two.

      They had to go to penalties because of a couple of bad late decisions. They totally dominated france and the Netherlands in that tournament. They would definitely be up there with a chance if they played in the euros. Beat a bunch of euro teams that they would likely meet in a euros on their way to win and easily beat Italy in the finalissima. Any of those euro teams would struggle in the copa America because its a very fast paced, tough game where more fouls are let go. This one was even harder because of the smaller pitches and bad surface.
