Singer 2018 is a singing competition in China for established and up and coming singers. That was Jessie J that you saw. Jessie and KZ were the first two international (outside of China) ever invited on the show. The show attracts an approximately 200 million weekly viewers & gives exposure and a chance to tap into the lucrative but near impossible to break in market. If you think about going on stage in a “new” market that’s vastly different (hardly any English speakers) than yours and then to put out a “live” performance like that. Not many established US singers would even “risk” it. To add: KZ was competing against one of her idol Jessie J. So when you say that KZ is “fearless” that’s so true and why she is beloved. About her rapping: There are many videos of live performances where KZ is rapping with other rappers and she not only is holding her own, she literally steals the show!
