- 1. Go to Module A5 (Front Sensors ...)
2. Click on Extended Coding
3. Press the button at the top right which displays a'0' and '1' to see it Bytes
Each Byte has 8 bits (from 0 to 7 included)
4. Press the right arrow down until you reach Byte 16
5. Inside Byte 16 activate bit 4 and do not modify the rest
6 Press the Validate button
7. Exit Module A5 and enter Module 5F
8. Click on Adaptation
9. Search for Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2
10. Enter menu_display_road_sign_identification and change to On
11. Enter menu_display_road_sign_identification_over_threshold_high and change to On
12. Press the Validate button.
13. Return to Adaptation and search for Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2
14. Enter traffic_sign_recognition_0x21 and change to Activated
15. Enter traffic_sign_recognition_0x21_msg_bus and change to ' Infotainment Data Bus'
16. Press the Validate button
17. Exit Module 5F and enter Module 17
18 Click on Extended coding
19. Press the button on the top right that shows a '0' and '1' to see it Bytes mode

20. Press the right arrow until you reach theByte 5
21. Inside Byte 5 activate bit 2 and do not modify the others
22. Press the Validate button
23. Restart the Infotainment by pressing and holding the power button between 10s to 15s and release.
It should work already. In the settings of the driving assistants, the option 'Signal recognition' should appear and the speed signals appear in the frame.

For my 2018 Passat needed to also change =Road Sign Detection Fusion Mode
to ‘Road Sign Detection

Precisava da sua ajuda ao ativar os sinais devo ter ativado algum byte sem querer e agora tenho na tela side assist e o meu carro não tem essa opção e não consigo remover.
The instructions "worked" on my 2018 GTI Autobahn. The options now come up in settings and some tools on my Guage have moved to make way for the new sign but when I drove; the speeds didn't show up.

Great instructions! I'm new to obdeleven. We just bought a 2020 T-Roc Highline with active display, lane assist, front/rear cameras etc. But no Road Sign Recognition. Such a handy safety feature that was disabled by VW. Apparently, it was a €500 option. I'm a controls engineer so I would have a go at this. What Bluetooth dongle / android software should I buy and will this work on the 2020 T-Roc? I've been reading that VW has introduced additional protection etc.
Sorry fot late answer. I use Obdeleven. On obdeleven app, there is no any info about additional protection for newer cars so it should work.

Hi. It does not work on my audi a4 b9. Some of the coding cant be done as some error message pop up. I trying to activate sign recognition for a long time. Many time the problem is sometimes working sometimes not. not sure why.
the limited error message comes out even if you have the serial navigator ??? can't be combined together ??? working for troc is also good for tiguan 2019 true ???

I have Octavia 2022 has these option, but it is locked whether it is possible to unlock it in this way since it is a VW group. Have you tried unlocking high beam assist with long coding also. Thanks in advance for your reply.

@@amdas i put mine on road sign detection but after 30 minutes it stops changing signs. It is frozen at the last sign untill restarting the motor. Do you maybe have an idea what could it be?

@@amdas do you know what the other fusion settings are. I think one is “activated” and the other was a value In my T Cross this is set at 0 and I am wondering if this is why it is not working
