I think Lumion can add RTX feature as an option, such as, if you go with RTX render, it will take longer time (just like Vray or other powerful RTX based renderers), but if you still want a quick render, then you should be able to go with Lumion classic rendering mode. Wouldn`t be amazing though...
With Twinmotion having (some) RTX features now and D5 having them for a long time, Lumion is way behind the curve. I used to like Lumion a lot, used it since Version 3. I still think that the usability is slightly better then the competitors (even with its flaws). But the main issue with Lumion is not the feature set (which is a problem by itself) but the pricing policy. Costing multiples (thousands of Euros/Dollars) in comparison to its competitors, it's priced out of the market, simply said. If they don't change that immediately, nobody will ever care about Lumion, even with RTX. AND: New versions of Lumion usually are being released in November. So it's still 9 months until that new version, which is a loooong time, technologically speaking... The other 2 competitors aren't asleep and will develop further as well. Especially D5 is breathtakingly fast in acquiring new features and getting better and better. Twinmotion, on the other hand, now belonging officially to the Unreal Engine ecosystem, could benefit hugely from direct technology transfer from arguably the most advanced rendering engine.
Great spoiler! For my part Lumion 13 will be in any case the last chance I give to Lumion to switch to RayTracing, otherwise I will change software. Reluctantly because I use Lumion since v3

I can never render correctly objects made of glass or metal, like hanging lamps reflected in mirrors or bottles in a bar scene, and I need to use Photoshop.

@@aaronsmith1246 yes it will, as long as you set up the alpha properly, and give the decal plane model a bit of distance from the main surface to avoid clipping, I have done this before in Lumion 10
Great video. Though very underwhelming update. The most expensive software that charges for upgrades. How ridiculous. I love Lumion, but if this doesn't change fast, along with critical improvements, lots of people will be switching to better viz software's. Seems Lumion is very out of touch with the arch viz community right now.

nice recap. thx! I have one technical question for you. I have a preety nice PC with i9-10900, 64gb ram and radeon rx 6900. Sometimes on some heavier scenes in lumion - especially with very detailed models of furniture - bed with HQ sheets and pillows (around 200mb) it just crashes whole computer - everything freezes and stops and I have to hard turn off pc via power button and restart. Then it is normal in other scenes but this one is just constant crashing. Sometimes its even smaller models. Do you know what is the problem? I thought it might be radeon card but I stress tested it and it works really well in every task I give it. The specs are preety good so it should not be a problem with PC but maybe its a little detail that is making it crash. It is never in the render only in viewport and photo/settings selection. If it was just lumion software crashing or freezeing then I could handle it, but force turning off whole PC seems dangerous for conponents when it happens several times a month. Would appreciate the answer.

No Multiple GPU for Lumion . Even i use the best single GPU RTX3090TI for animation, i still cant render fast for the highest render setup. Lumion like good for teenage & young adult but its not enaugh for adults.

Use a plane model and then apply there the Standard material. Instead of using the Decals. I can make a short video about it.
