17:36 the Return of the Jedi soundtrack. Back when I was a wee lad in the 1980's there was a colouring competition in the local newspaper. Basically you had to colour in a drawing, i cannot remember what it was of, send it into the newspaper and the winner won "something" (again sadly i cannot remember) but the runners up won a copy of the Return of the Jedi soundtrack. I was a runners up(!) and still have it proudly on my shelf in an LP frame. Sadly though its got dozens of action figures infront of it so i never get to actually see it freely, but hey its my pride of joy in my vintage collection. Great video as always Jules.
The Star Wars / A stereo Space odyssey - I had it as a kid in 1977. played it constantly for years. Budget recordings, a few bum notes and odd arrangements but for a long time that was my OST to Star Wars. You can hear it on youtube. Great (but odd) stuff!
Jules…been trying to find a particular LP that I had back in the 70s (I think it was the 70s) and you showed the cover….it was the sounds of Star Wars by Bruce Baxter … thanks very much for uploading this video as I have since found the album soundtrack…it’s brought back many memories 👍

Meco was brilliant. Even John Williams was impressed with Meco Monardo's orchestral arrangement skills, so he definitely wasn't a one hit novelty act. I noticed you didn't have Meco's "Empire Strikes Back". It was a limited edition EP on the RSO label. It has an unusual shape for a record. It's bigger than a 45, but much smaller than an album. George Lucas gave his blessing and allowed Meco to sample anything he wanted from the movie.
Seeing that vinyl was coming back, I searched for one of my favorite records which was the story of star wars return of the jedi, the picture disk version, then I got a new hope, I couldn't complete the set cause they never put empire on a picture disk, they have it, but no picture vinyl.
Hi Jules, I'm an old fart now and actually have both the 1st release Soundtrack and Story LP's. Unfortunately tho, the sleeves are pretty worn out now, but the records are in pretty good condition. . BTW... I recently found and purchased a sealed version of The Story of Star Wars. It's the same version you show on this video. I did some online research (after making the purchase) that this particular LP is a 1983 rerelease by Buena Vista Records. The actual 1977 Release was 20th Century Fox Records that had a doubled-side sleeve and an escape pod image on the backside of the album cover. Well. I only paid $35 for the sealed LP, so I guess I still got a good deal.
I had the original 20ht Century Fox "Story of Star Wars," an original pressing of the "Empire" double album and an original pressing of "Jedi." Unfortunately, thanks to some careless movers, I no longer have any of them. I was trying to find the Sony Classical vinyl reissues, but they're even harder to find than the box set was. But if Disney ever releases vinyl versions of them, I will avoid them like the plague. Given the problems they've had with quality control with "Last Jedi" and "Rise of Skywalker," I would expect them to be just as flawed.
@@JulesBurt Definitely. I have both the blue and black vinyl versions of "Rise of Skywalker" and both have a problem with severe wow. On the Blue vinyl version, only the first disc is tolerable wow-wise, but the sound is a little distorted because of the colored vinyl. The only quasi-playable side on the black one is the first side; all the rest have the wow problem bad. And even if you exchange it, you'll have the same problem as with "Last Jedi"l they're all going to have those problems because they were bad masters, and Disney won't redo them.

Yep, a real classic if it's type🙂 Sadly not got that ESB one you mention. Just never came my way. There's a few I'd like to get but haven't just yet.

Absolutely, sealed LP's are pretty scarce tbh. The Story of Star Wars is classic though, nice find.

Thanks for the warning. I feel a lot of these recent vinyl releases are over priced and not really nessecsary, loads of originals on eBay.
