I honestly don't get why people think they lied. Xehanort's present story has ended, this is just clarifying on his origins and how those characters connect to this new saga we're jumping into.

Guys, I have some interesting details about the end of the trailer.
- The connection between Xehanort and Kairi is far greater than we could imagine.
- Xehanort, using the name of Ansem, wrote some reports after the end of BBS and start of KH1. In the eleventh report he states:
"I've chosen a girl. I don't know if she holds the princesses' powers, but I will find out. She may lead me to the key bearer.
I shall set her free and observe."
The girl is Kairi. That's what being shown on the trailer. Apparently she was "born" to encounter the Keyblade wilder for Xehanort.
- In Kingdom Hearts 1 Kairi is taken from Destiny Islands and gets separated from her heart, which ends up in Sora. She didn't become a heartless, probably because of her princess of heart powers or Xehanort's doing. She ends up getting her heart back and transforming Sora back from the Heartless state 🤔
- In Kingdom Hearts II Kairi gets kidnapped by the organization (which is led by Xemnas) to raise Soras's anger to make him defeat heartless and make Kingdom Hearts.
- In Kingdom Hearts III, Kairi is trained to become a strong Keyblade Wielder and mamages to do that. However, in the final clash between Light and Darkness, she frozes when confronted by Terra Xehanort (Has the same visual as Apprentice Xehanort, who wrote the reports and experimented on her) and gets kidnapped later by Xemnas, gets killed by Xehanort and is brought back by Sora at the cost of his life.
- In Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind, We discover that Kairi's heart has been scattered and Sora must collect these parts to make Kairi whole again. He is successful, Kairi comes back and together they defeat Armored Xehanort. However, Sora vanishes as that is the price of returning Kairi to life. In the Limit Cut Episode we disciver that Kairi is sound asleep and that her heart is being examined as it might hold a clue to find Sora.
- Across the entire KH saga, Xehanort and Kairi are connected somehow. Why is her heart so important? Why did it protect itself hiding in Sora's? Why does she has these amazing powers? Why, by eliminating Kairi, Xehanort was able to forge the last key and forge Kingdom Hearts? Why Kairi's heart is so important that the entire Re Mind scenario revolves around it?
The answers probably lies in Melody of Memory, and, hopefully, in the future Games of the franchise. I love her so much and seeing her backstory being told and her getting awesome character development shows me why I love KINGDOM HEARTS so much. Thanks!

If KH 3 story wasnt so shit, I could get excited by this, but seeing as how this franchise is going and being milked, it will probably be very disappointing.
Kairi's heart hid itself inside Sora's because Aqua cast a spell on her as a child in BBS to protect her heart from darkness and find a safe place to hide.
Xehanort needed a clase of 13 darknesses and 7 lights to forge the true X-Blade. By the time Sora and the gang reach Master Xehanort at the end of KH3, Sora and friends have beaten 12 of the 13 darknesses and he only needed one clash to complete it, which he did simply by killing Kairi himself instead of fighting Sora and the others. Easy way to do it.

@FREDRICK ADAMKIEWICZ I'm not saying that it's a bad console, i'm just saying that making the switch less powerful than the others sucks because makes it so that it recieves less of the multi platform games that i like. Then i have to spend more money to buy multiple consoles. It's not a problem if you only play ninetendo exclusives, but a large portion of gamers aren't like that.
Back in the SNES to Game Cube days people could play Mario, Zelda and the big multi platform games all in the same console because the hardware was on par with the rest of the market.
Nowadays i have to buy two, one console to play Mario and Zelda and another one to play multi platform blackbuster games like Resident Evil. It's freaking annoying.

It sounds more like he just kinda is getting the Player's memories from some external bullcrap, kinda like he has his own Chain of Memories to go through... wait the combat of Dark Road is cards, it's a little different but it reminds ya of Chain of Memories actually. Maybe the plot is the same, where it resembles CoM in a way but also has its own stuff going! It's all connected

I mean, Sora could've easily been in Smash without a game on the Switch. There've been 4 full KH games on Nintendo systems. It's not like Joker was on the Switch before they added him. All he was on was a 3DS Persona spinoff. Hell, Cloud is in Smash and the only way he was on a Nintendo system was through the KH games and Theatrhythm.

I'm hoping they're lowkey teasing another DLC for Kingdom Hearts 3. The juxtaposition between the Melody of Memories visuals and those of the cutscenes is far too jarring. It's also appearing on the Switch which I don't think can support Kingdom Hearts 3's visuals. They could be just be prerendered scenes, but I'm gonna hope for a Kairi DLC anyways.

I am so excited for mom. I have spent countless hours playing Theaterrythmn, just getting lost in the beautiful orchestral tracks. Now I can enjoy them with my favorite video game! As a fellow French horn player is this truly a dream come true.

Just doing Melody of Memories so they can give us 20 mins of new cutscenes without worrying about A. Charging it as DLC for KHIII or B. Giving it to us for free. So they'll make us buy a $60 game of used assets with tiny bite size amount of actual new, relevant content. I'm sure it'll be fun, but the marketing is obvious; SE knows KH's has whales for fans.

SENA wth are this translations? I thought after the debacle with KH3 and the corrections made with Re:Mind, the quality would have improved. Instead all i see are half-assed translations that completely nullifies the nuances of the original dialogues. Kairi says "i will never forgive you", not "i won't let you walk away", those are completely different things with completely different meanings and emotional levels. She also self reflects, she says that her power were not enough so everybody got hurt, instead you make it sound like she was accusing the hooded figure and not taking any responsability, we got the chance to see her emotions and internal turmoils and you choose to deprive us of that agency after years of asking to see her growth and development? Get better.
Glad someone mentioned this. I am no Japanese expert but i can understand a little bit. I was like why Kairi is saying something and it's translated to something else. Well i don't see this happening in the future but i hope Square Enix might give us the REAL TRANSLATION! Because it happens a lot in Japanese games which are localized for us. I played hella lot of Japanese games and most if not all of them have the same problem.
Our only hope is that this is a gaffe like the KH3 non-English trailers, like that bit about Marluxia saying the "real Organization" is also the "only Organization" (an inaccuracy) being corrected in the final game. But given the smaller release gap, there is very little hope in that here...

I've always enjoyed (and possibly laughed at) the creative ways KH finds ways to have characters say "I'm gonna beat the shit out of/kill you" in an E 10+ way, but Kairi saying "I won't let you walk away" is genuinely sick as hell.
I'm just gonna wait in hopes for the Just A Pancake video on this, the KH prophet must give their opinion 💜

Been a fan since the beginning of the series, but I'm so over the half-assed attempts at Kairi focus and shoe-horned character development. After 18 years worth of games, any attempts to develop her beyond a walking deus ex machina that can barely hold a keyblade after being "trained" feels like a long forgotten footnote that Nomura keeps squinting at as he goes along. They did the same thing to Lea/Axel with that "training" amounting to practically nothing and let every other character carry on the grunt work. They should've done this ten years ago. I'm so tired, but the breadcrumbs of story keep being scattered throughout and I must continue to gather every morsel...
