Eric, don't let others stop u from ur dreams by what they say. Ur video's shows a wide spectrum of u , good days, bad days. A journey being told. God Bless U and Jax and ur adventures on the road.
I lived in San Francisco for several years and although I always meant to, never did get up to see "The Redwoods". So I cannot thank you enough Eric for taking me along with you & am looking forward to seeing more of those Giants as you make your way south. Perfect weather for it too!
Eric so nice to see the Redwoods great shots. Taking a vacation with you and Jax's is so fun. The ocean waves so nice to. Thanks again. You have taken your viewers to some nice places.
I've driven by that place plenty of times, never stopped, and I didn't know it has that gondola. I'm sure folks from other places who don't have those kinds of forests enjoy the experience. Nice of you to film it, and the weather cooperated. Happy trails.
Was there as a kid with my parents and the building near Paul Bunion and Babe is exactly the same. Back then Paul Bunion spoke to tourists via a microphone and speaker system. He had funny things to say and historical tidbits about himself and the forest. Of course, there was no gondola ride but the gigantic trees were magical to kids and I've never forgotten this place. I took my young daughter there and she loved it, too. Seeing this place today makes me miss my parents very much ...
+David DeWitt We've never been here...not yet, but I know what you mean about missing your parents. My dad has been gone since 2004 and certain things trigger the fond memories. We still have our mom at 90 years old and hoping she lasts forever.
David DeWitt I totally understand David. There are times when I'm doing something and I think for a second...I'mgoing to call dad to tell him or ask him something and of course I forget for a millisecond he's not there to call. ..and I get that horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. I can only say to all those who still have mom and dad...talk to them now, find time to see them, call them daily before you can't. Life can get REALLY busy & we think there is always tomorrow to talk to the ones we love....but sometimes we don't have tomorrow. :(
+Swaying With The Palm Trees I hugged my dad on a foggy fall morning in fairbanks in 1999. he drove off in my NEW 97 z-28 camaro ( he was ww2 person so this was radical to him:))which I gave him. Drove all way to ft Lauderdale and got cancer. died suddenly. never had time to see him. Yes its sad as they may be takin so quickly.
40belowful I'm so sorry for your loss. My dad was in the Navy in WW 2 & Korea. He was there at Normandy. What was your dad in? My dad died of cancer too. Died in 4 months from diagnosis. My brother had cancer too as well as several other family members. It's a horrible disease.
I took the gondolas in Canada while snowboarding the Canadian Rockies. It really is awesome seeing the mountains and forest covered in snow from that height.
I am now seriously yearning to head out on a roadtrip. Those stops totally make it. I like that you took us, literally, step by step on your pitstop. Good fun! Safe travels!
The Redwoods, was the best vacation I ever had. Those trees made me feel so small. They truly are massive. It just doesn't translate well in film. You really have to stand at the base of one to understand their beauty. I would love to return soon.
Trees of Mystery was one of the places my family took me to when I was 9, I'm 68 now. You will be very unlikely to encounter snow in any month at Trees of Mystery but it can happen.
After reading "The Wild Trees: A Story Of Passion and Daring" by Richard Preston, I have been fascinated by the California Redwoods. I can hardly wait to get up there to see them for myself. Thanks for this small glimpse into that world. Rock On, brother.
Eric,Just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed your latest excursion down Hwy101. I haven't been to my old stomping grounds for almost 20 years now. Drove that hwy uncountable times and always loved every minute. You are a wonderful road host! As for Jax, well he is just a LOT of cat! What a wonderful traveling companion.
Thanks for your amazing videos, I'm enjoying traveling with you, enjoy all the scenery, ocean views & learning how to repair an RV. Because of all the knowledge I've gained from your videos, we recently bought a 1983 Tioga ☺️. Looking forward to hitting the road - retirement is calling.
+TheOldFarmersWife & HerOldFarmer I am glad to hear of others embracing dreams and giving it a go.I for one am thankful for content that is posted, like from NomadicFanatic and others, who are so brave to take the first step, and willing to share it with the world. Safe travels to you. Cheers
your videos make my mind stop running, I just relax and throw a video on. I have got so much going on running a motel. sometimes I need a virtual vacation.
That is a great stop, been there and did all the trails up top, I assume you did the trails that were up top. then not to far from there you have the Avenue of the Giants, a wonderful 15 - 20 mile loop of massive trees a wonderful spot to take pictures with contrast with you standing beside them or your rv beside them
That was really cool I'm glad you took us along with you. I know some may say it's touristy but for ppl that may never get a chance to see in person it's great...thanks:)
Was there as a kid and again on a trip to Oregon in 2004 to pick up a puppy. Glad they had the same bumper plaques they did when I was a kid. Also picked up a Paul Bunion and Babe salt and pepper shaker we got back in the 60's that were long gone. Exactly the same. We even took our new puppy on the gondola ride and through the park.Sad to say the dog I picked up has been gone now for 5 years. A sad reminder of the place. Makes me miss my dog :(
Thanks for the great videos! I grew up in CA and visited the Redwoods as a child. Been awhile since I've been there. There was no gondola ride back then, that's for sure. Also, just had to mention, I will NEVER tire of seeing the ocean so if you film an hour of waves crashing on the beach, I'd watch every second of it. Keep safe and kindest regards.
that water was sure amazing, and I love when you show the beach part, sorry you cant please everyone, right now I'm jealous that you travel like this and happy for you lol
Dude.... Thank you for taking the time to make this.... I made this trip in 96, with my two young sons, '.... But my oopsy daughter, born in 2004, needs to experience this.. I love the redwoods,... We're Washington State people, but the Redwoods are so beautiful.... so is Big Sur...... Love this
Eric, I can speak for San Diego specifically about class C overnight parking is ALOUD in all downtown areas like 4th, Imperial, anywhere near the shelters, you will be amazed to see the THOUSANDS of class C at night. They park in rows by the PETCO park streets towards downtown. I have checked things out and NO problem. I like Rosecrans street, downtown off the main roads where you see thousands of class c with NO problems! Also, WALMARTS are ok with overnight parking from highway 94,5,805 no worries!
Another awesome video by the best in the business. thanks for sharing Eric.
Eric, don't let others stop u from ur dreams by what they say. Ur video's shows a wide spectrum of u , good days, bad days. A journey being told. God Bless U and Jax and ur adventures on the road.
WOW! Another fantastic video! Thanks for sharing... Looking forward to many more!
Nice tour! I would imagine the air was cool and moist, with the smell of Redwoods...lovely! TY
You don't have the Smell o vision?
Always wanted to go there. Thanks for taking me 😃
Thanks, Eric. As a New Englander, my West Coast experiences are spotty. Your videos are a pleasant way to fill in the blanks.

David DeWitt I totally understand David. Great tour! For the life of me I cannot imagine why anyone would give a thumbs down for this. Go figure! Keep up the good work Eric!
The forest is great but the man made sign just makes it feel touristy and corny.

Eric I hope you visit San Diego beaches and large parks too!
+Mike Smith I'm worried about boondocking overnight. I really want to enjoy it, but big cities in an RV are tough.
