    Very good information.
    Not a lot of excess talking, just good user information.
    I wish there was a vocabulary chart somewhere, like a dictionary for what all these
    functions do and what they mean.

      The manual that it came with the charge controller has additional info but if you don't want to mess with manual settings (User) mode then I think the simplest is to use one of the pre-programmed ones that match your battery type and that should be fine for the most part.

    Why are using the battery user setting rather than lithium .I’m having trouble maybe that’s my problem I’m setting to lithium at the extreme right then I can’t set the charge voltage.I called tech support and can’t get it right

    Question - how do you keep the screws from loosening on the terminal connections? No matter how much I tighten them the wires come loose after a few days. Thanks.

      Fortunately I am not having that issue. You may also want to try wiggling the wire after you have tighten down and then tighten down again so that all the wire strands are flattened out.

    Why does the manual only show three settings for the pre-programmed lithium? Is the lithium profile not using the rest of the settings? All you wanted to change is the boost voltage from 14.4 to 13.9 right? But the user profiles forces you to use them like float, equalizer, etc... How do you know what to set them to without a reference from the factory Lithium profile?

      Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries (LiFePO4) doesn't really require a float state but I just didn't want my battery to charge to 14.4v. As you mentioned, User profile do have additional parameters that you have to set and I use the numbers that came with my battery manual. That being said, I think the pre-programmed lithium (LI) setting should be fine as well.

    Why do they call it equalizer voltage? That's a lead acid term. When does it equalize every month? Or is that really the High voltage threshold number, voltage. Or does it reach just the boost/absorb level, then go into float? Shouldn't you set them both to the exact same number? Say 14.2v

      Equalizing the voltage is just to bring all cells to the same level. To be honest, I have not paid that much attention to it. For LIFEPO4, there isn't really a float stage or there isn't a need for it. If you use the LI setting on the charge controller for LIFEPO4, it should work fine. When it charges up to 14.4v, it normally stop charging and current is less than 1amp and I know it is full.

    This same charger won't let me put on Li. Battery setting nor will temp plug fit and now shows E15 error.....I'm lost

      That is really strange. I'm not using the temp plug but it should allow you to set it to Li(Lithium Battery) setting if your battery is indeed Lithium.

    what do you use for AGM batteries?

    • @everythingalternative7048
      @everythingalternative7048  2 роки тому +1

      I don't use AGM but if you are just asking in general, AGM can still be use with solar. They may weight less and less pricey on paper but keep in mind that you can't really deplete the battery all the way down to 0% or you will damage it. You can only use about 50% of AGM listed capacity. Hope that helps.

      This charge controller comes preset for use on sealed AGM batteries. I have the same controller charging 16, 7.2ah sealed AGMs for a year now and all works well here in Jamaica.
