Your game is superb 10/10 for gameplay. Please make DLC and take my money! Add some more challenge... Hades Heat system or something with lots more variation and take that best RL Fps ever made crown
Just got this game on sale 2 days ago for $20 on steam. Was totally worth the grab. the gunplay and movement to this game is so god damn salifying to fuck around in. I never knew how much I needed a hades style type of first person shooter game in my life but here we are.
Can't believe I haven't seen this vid sooner! Thanks for uploading this! Deadlink is one of my favourite games I've voiced in - seeing positive videos about it really makes me extra cheery. :D (I voiced the first 3 main bosses and 2 NPCs - Rutger and Carl :D) A new gamemode released just now, endless mode! Hoping you'll check it out as well! :)
Finished all the difficulties with all the classes yesterday! Love this game so much! Nice review P.S Kirk Lower your sensitivity man and hit those heads with Hunter ;)
If I had a nickel for every cyberpunk-themed, Doom Eternal-inspired indie shooter that came out within the last month, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, right?
Enjoying this a lot. Only class I don’t like is the juggernaut and it’s mainly down to its primary weapon. That shotgun feels weak, especially compared to the soldier shotgun.
His shotgun is more meant as a finisher. I always build juggernaut as a caster, i.e. cooldown reduction and skill power. This results in spamming his abilities non-stop and infinite armor because of constant marking and killing with his second ability. Your biggest issue are bosses, since getting close to them is most commonly a death sentence.
Hey thanks for this, you made me go back and re play this, I completely missed the marking thing. For some reason after the tutorial I thought only the grenades marked enemies and I thought scrambled that enemy texture was when they had been scrambled. I went back with your review knowledge and completely monstered the first levels, now I'm hooked.
I like the game a lot and like you said the mechanics and gunplay are amazing. My frustration comes from the different difficult levels when you reach Area 4. It doesn't scale well and Area 4 is a huge step from the other previous areas. And the last boss fight is very frustrating tbh.
I think this difficulty spike is more apparent at lower difficulty levels unfortunately. Stick with it though and you'll find a game as deep as it is rewarding!
Cool. I opened up steam so I can add this to my ever-growing wish list in the hopes of playing it when I get around to playing the rest of the games on my backlog. But then it turns out I already had it in my library and I have no idea how it got there.
I completely agree that the game shows all its cards too early. For example, by the time you get the Engineer... you basically have unlocked the entire game, since that introduces REDACTED, and the quirk of random scenarios they add. It'd have been more interesting to have them show up at another time (maybe AFTER Act 2?) or have a requirement that feels organic (The Maker has you modding your implants and other functions... maybe the modding brings their attention?). I mean, at the same regard, it feels like things are introduced rather at the right time... but I think it adds too much per step. Getting a new shell AND a new gameplay mechanic is a bit much. Likewise, simply accessing act 2 gives you access to The Maker and who ever the Junkman is. It'd have been more interesting if in Act 1, you could SEE the Junkman getting ambushed in the in between areas and you have the option to help them out or ignore them. Heck, it could even give challenge rooms a purpose for the two. I want to feel rewarded, not simply given more. Having me try something new to get something new would work well.
I bought this one and I dunno. The enemy a.i. was really bad and the rooms were very similar. I didn't really play it very long as it just didn't grab me the way Ziggurat did.
It came out close to the release date of baldur’s gate so it’s understandable that no one knows but man is it a travesty. In any other year this would be in conversation for GOTY.
Appreciate the in-depth review of the game mechanics, Kirk. Love the montage work as well! Thanks for reviewing Deadlink!

@@frankylampard3931 I second this.
Thank you for making it! Looking forward to what you do next!
Been enjoying the hell out of this since before act 3 got introduced. Glad to see it getting more attention.

Excellent, loved your review. Thanks for covering this smaller title.
Thank you! This game was a treat to cover.

P.S Kirk Lower your sensitivity man and hit those heads with Hunter ;)
Hahaha I should take that advice. I'm more of a bulldozer than a sharpshooter 😅
Also congrats!
How much time did it take you? / much game time can I be expecting from this?
@@AsianYCSM took me about 35 hours. Well worth it but honestly they need to add more challenge to the game

Three if you count Sprawl 😆
Been a great bday month for me
@@KIRKCOLLECTS Yeah, I forgot about that.
What are the other games?
@@adrianhazzard6665 sprawl, and turbo overkill
I really enjoyed this game, like... Far more than I expected, and I'm not even finished yet!
I love this game. By far the best shooter 2023!!

Anyone know how this performs on the Steam Deck? Great review
personally couldn't get into this one but if you like doom eternal and anime then its probably worth picking up on sale
Polish games FTW!
BTW "Gruby" means "Thicc" in Polish 😅
Nice 😉
Wish it was on ps5. Great review Kirk but I think it would be more of a mix of Doom and Enter the GUNGEON
july 30th your wish comes true!
It released yesterday. I'm buying it Today
this video reminds me of IGN videos. but 10x more trust worthy

There's a long pause at 8:15 to 8:20
Dang. That must have happened on the export. Thanks for the heads up, I'll try and slice that out.
Now do Roboquest(when it comes out finally)
Wait, this left Early Access?
Yep! It entered 1.0 last month.
yep

Dissapointed with how long it took to get to the rougelite mechanics of the game
