It’s crazy how Michael Barnes sings this so much better live 15+ years later then when they dropped their first record. He must have had vocal lessons or something. He wasn’t bad by any means before but his vocals were strained in early live shows whereas any video I’ve seen of them in past 10ish years his voice sounds really controlled and relaxed.
Yeah, kind of, the lack of control added to the emotion.. it's hard to listen to this new performance as the original one had way more rasp and i've listened to that one like 10 000 times over the course of my teen years xD but yeah he's a good singer, anyways
Vocal lessons and I think he learned how to growl without straining his voice. I honest to god thought he was lip syncing some but his last performance he barely missed a note and one growl fell short. Most people don’t notice but as a musician I did. Actually makes me appreciate everything he hit even more like oh shit it’s real and raw.
maybe it's just me, but he really needs to tune the song down bc he's trying quite hard to get the tone right, just look at him when he gives the microphone at the audience when "FAAAALLING" hits :(
Good to see they still perform it. Might go to one of the UK shows :D
Just saw then a few weeks ago in Philly opening for Alter Bridge. I never heard them before. They blew my socks off. Definitely see them if you can 🤘
Love this band!
