Neal, it was a real pleasure to chat with you and have you on my channel. I’ll let you know when I have our video done! Cheers! And belated happy birthday, again!!
Hi Neal. Found your Channel a couple of weeks ago. Picked up a mandolin for the first time three weeks ago totally clueless as to how this little buddy works. Learned to play piano/organ by ear decades ago but strings are so different from the old ivories and therefore a real challenge BUT that's what makes it all the more fun to learn. Really enjoyed your informal chat with the World as it's all instrumental (no pun intended) 😁 in sharing a bit of happiness. I quote from the little pick I bought - 'When words fail, Music speaks' - so true, let the music play on. Interesting to see you have a Subscriber from one of our Bordering Counties here in the UK - persevere, Charlie from Yorkshire! : )). Thanks Neal.
Hello there - great to meet you! Really amazes me where everyone is chiming in from. I’m a long time piano player as well and after decades of piano and guitar, the newness of the mandolin was very refreshing and it was kind of fun to start at square one again. Hey have a great day over there!
Hi from Yorkshire !! Just bought one of your hoodies, cool top. Keep up the good work, as a beginner really enjoying it all ( I also don’t know anyone that plays)
Great to see you again Neal. You’re so right about UA-cam. Been playing mandolin for decades and LOVE your channel. Also “Trying” to learn piano on YT. You are a trusted buddy to all of us who frequent your channel. Thanks for the references to other mando channels! BTW, love that shirt! Watching this in AM, but when beer thirty arrives, may have to rewatch and have a beer with you.
Good morning Rick! Great to see you as always :) If we're talking piano, be sure to check out Christian Fuchs out of Berlin if you haven't already. He has a gold mine of New Orleans/Blues lessons from beginner on up and is my favorite Piano UA-camr by far. Hey, have a great day!
@@COMANDOLIN , Will do Neal, Thanks. Right now I’m following Flint Long who teaches Boogie Woogie and it a great guy, ( like you). Also, thanks for rock and pop mandolin. He plays a lot of the stuff I do on mandolin, ( but better ). Awaiting your next tutorial. Stay well.
Hi there. Thanks for checking out the channel! Im afraid I’m extremely unfamiliar with eastern/Arabic styles of music. I wouldn’t even know where to start. Can you mention a song title or artist I should check out?
@@COMANDOLIN thanks for the reply :) I came across some solos of Rahim Alhaj. He is an Oud artist. I was wondering if his tunes could be tried out on Mandolin. ua-cam.com/video/osf1gckzf70/v-deo.html Ryan Guelmaoui - ua-cam.com/video/MPdGCmg94AU/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/hh6hoJibHpU/v-deo.html
I know most people think of Minneapolis in January as a warm, sunny place, but turns out, we already have some this year, so you’d better keep it. Might melt in shipping anyway :)
