You can only get prescription drugs with the prescription from your physician even if they are advertised on TV. So you have to go to the doctor's office first where he is supposed to evaluate your need for the advertised drug, and choose the best drug to treat you condition and then write a prescription for it. He is supposed to inform you of risks and side effects before giving you the prescription. He may allow you to decide which drug to used based on the information he gives you. But that is only when 2 drugs have similar effectiveness.

McDonalds was the only restaurant with an official "super size" but they did away with it back in 2004 so it's been almost 20 years since we've had an official super size. Also, Black Friday isn't quite as intense as it used to be because a lot of retailers have started doing their best deals online. Most of the rushes were caused by really good deals but since the stores would typically have less than 10 of that item people would push and shove and even worse to try to get to the deal first. Also Also, car mechanics in the United States have to buy both metric and imperial (standard) tools because for some reason all vehicles use both metric and imperial bolt sizes. It's one of the most irritating things I've ever had to deal with.

It largely went away because Covid broke the cycle. Plus stores have decided to market mostly online sales as a result. I’m sure it’s cheaper too than having to fix broken things caused by an insane mob. Not that I buy anything or was even invested in Black Friday, but I like it better this way and hope it never returns like it was previously. I remember hearing a story in my city that a psycho adult physically injured a child because the girl grabbed the last game. It’s really not that deep. It would have been ok 🤦🏽‍♀️

Don’t put bones or anything too hard in the garbage disposal. It’s more for scraps. For instance when you’re cooking there might be peeled vegetable skins, parts of fruits and vegetables you’re not going to eat and of course just food left on plates excluding bones. You put it in the garbage disposal, run the water, turn it on and down it goes.
This is one of those “don’t knock it until you’ve tried it” kind of things. I wonder if Laurence from lost in the pond likes garbage disposals.

When I was a kid, the next-door neighbors had a trash compactor built-in under their kitchen counter next to the sink. Unlike the garbage disposals under sinks, you placed solid, dry waste in the trash compactor's pull-out drawer, pushed it back in until it locked, pushed a button, and the rubbish inside the drawer was compressed to a much smaller, dense cube, to take up less space when disposing of it later. Now that most homes separate out recyclables, and maybe even sort them by material, trash compactors have fallen out of favor.

You don't have to touch the stuff you're putting in the garbage disposal, you can just use your sprayer. Do you have those in Jersey? They're hand-held sprayers similar to what you'd see outdoors at the end of a garden hose, but instead attached to a hose that retracts to counter level when you are done with it, and is built into your sink base. Most U.S. sinks come with holes placed and sized for, from left to right, the hot water spigot handle or knob, the water faucet or tap, the cold water handle or knob, and then the sprayer. For sinks made to accommodate a faucet that has a swingable handle controlling hot and cold water simultaneously, there would be just a hole for the tap and a hole for the spray head. Incidentally, whenever you use the sprayer, water is cut off to the faucet; they can't operate simultaneously.

On a few of the points made in the video. Garbage disposals in America are mainly to be used for softer foods like pasta, eggs (not in the shell) and similar foods so they do not have to be scraped into a garbage can before washing dishes. You can scrape it into the sink disposal, turn it on and rinse the ground up items down the drain line. Chicken bones, ham bones and other hard objects are not intended to be put into the garbage disposal and will likely clog it up or break the disposal and are not meant to replace a garbage can or bin. Spray cheese is basically mild cheddar cheese in a can that squirts out onto whatever you would like to put it on. What most videos don't show or tell you is that a can of spray cheese is equal to many slices of American cheese and will more than likely make you ill 🤢 if you spray a can of it directly into your mouth and eat it the way it is depicted in a lot of movies and tv shows. In regards to Black Friday it has changed a lot in America in the past five years or so. Online shopping has replaced a lot of the shopping people used to rush to stores to do on Black Friday. Now Black Friday deals are advertised online and can be bought during a certain time frame at the sale prices. While stores still have sales on items in store on Black Friday they also have pre Black Friday sales for a few weeks before the actual day as well. One thing to note in regards to Black Friday sales and electronics is that stores are generally selling their oldest stock and models in stores on Black Friday while if you want the latest and greatest models, brands or kinds of electronics you'll have to purchase these online. As a result of these changes Black Friday is now almost just another shopping day at stores. Any videos of people trampling over each other to get into the store were made years ago prior to online shopping when the only available items were what was available in the stores themselves. Times have changed.

Until the 1980's the legal drinking age varied from state to state. The drinking age was 18 in most states, but in some states it was 19, 20 or 21. Then in the early 1980's there was an effort to curtail drunk driving. Instead of advocating for earlier closing times for bars and nightclubs, (which can be as late as 4am, in my native NYC), or on raising the age for driving licenses, the focus was on the drinking age. Many states refused to comply. So the federal government threatened to withhold highway funds to any state that would not raise the drinking age to 21. That's why every state in the US has 21 as the legal drinking age.

It’s probably been said already but Black Friday isn’t anything like it was when I was a kid! Online shopping with stores worldwide having “black Friday” specials days before our actual day has really hurt most retail stores here and more and more people are just not doing the typical B Friday tradition! Even here in the states for about the last 10 years or so more retail stores are foregoing b Friday and having more unprecedented sales before that. Then stores started opening for the second half of Thanksgiving Thursday to start their deals.

The drinking age wass changed to 21 due to too many drunk driving accidents by those that were under 21. The federal government can't actually change the drinking age within each state, however, they can attach that requirement to federal highway funds so states make that change, which was what was done in the 1980's. States could still have a drinking age at 18, however, they would receive no money for the interstate roads through their states.

Waste disposals are only meant for things like peelings from vegetables, and egg shells. You aren't suppose to put bones in it or packaging
The majority of Americans do not use spray cheese . That's a minor thing ,not a big part of our culture so I have no idea why they would include other than as a way to denigrate our culture
"American cheese" is a name given to a type of processed. It is not meant to be real cheese. It is mainly for melting on burgers or grilled cheese sandwiches. The states of Wisconsin and Oregon are the biggest REAL cheese producers in the US

McDonald's ended the "super size" extra large portions in 2004. That's nearly twenty years ago; WatchMojo isn't keeping particularly current.
Physical Black Friday sales took a huge hit during COVID. Online Cyber Mondays, week, weeks, etc. received a huge boost during the lockdowns. I don't see physical Black Friday frenzies equaling their peak from years ago. I seem to recall fewer stores extending their hours around Thanksgiving for Black Friday in the last couple of years.
Garbage disposals are great because there are inevitably some small bits left on plates, bowls, etc. and on pots and pans left to soak in the sink for cleaning. You obviously want to get the larger pieces into the garbage or a composting bin, but those aforementioned smaller bits are annoying to have to gather up for disposal.
We use US customary units, not Imperial, in the US. A US pint or gallon are smaller in volume than an Imperial pint or gallon. I suspect the UK would retain the (Imperial) pint in pubs even if the US went fully to the metric system. Don't you guys still use the stone as a unit of weight?

Just FYI the drug side effect thing was a joke. Our drug ads usually rattle off the side effects like an auctioneer. Also, keep in mind that the farther down the list the side effect is, the less likely it is to happen. Drug clinical (the tests before release) have to report EVERYTHING that adversely affected the patient while testing the drug, no matter how stupid sounding. If the person steps off a curb and gets hit by a bus, that has to be reported in the clinical patient testing. After a few million test patients take the drug in clinical, the top side effects are placed with the drug paperwork made available to patients at a pharmacy or online. Doctors are given a list of contraindications, medicines that don’t mix, usually in their computers. They ask you every time you go in to make sure another doctor hasn’t prescribed a drug that is causing a problem or to make sure you aren’t taking an OTC drug that causes problems. That happens a lot.

Technically, drinking age is a state law while voting age is in the Constitution (26th amendment). The “national drinking age” is tied to federal highway funding. States can have a lower drinking age, but they lose a lot of their federal highway funds.
States can also lower the voting age. There are some who want to lower the voting age to 16. Some localities actually have 16 as their voting age for elections for that locality (mayor or county council) but not for statewide or national elections.

I think I commented on one video similar to this one. Hate Garbage disposals. It does have a switch on the wall and is loud. Throwing garbage in my sink is not appealing to a lot of us. I’d rather scrape into bag. New dishwashers you don’t have to scrape at all, so I’ve been told. That’s unappealing too. The white bread, I think he meant the fact it was sliced. Maybe that sliced white bread was started here. Who knows. McDonald’s just announced they were ending free refills. Because of the nitwits who use drive-thru and come back with empty cup in the drive-thru and want a refill. All the stupid stuff here is because of the young people, especially the out of control ones. We have a lot of them. Our Health Care system is complex but the hospitals do help you. Some stuff about this country is over the top. We are all different.

Hi guys! I can switch between Metric and Imperial pretty easily. A kilometer is 6/10 s of a mile, an inch is 2.5 centimeters, a foot is 30 centimeters, a teaspoon is 5ml and there are 3 teaspoons to a tablespoon, 2 tablespoon to an ounce hence 30 mls per ounce. 16 ozs. to a pint, 2 pints per quart, and a liter is about a quart, a kilo is 2.2 pounds (when dealing weed in high school, I always thought of the .2 as a bonus), a yard is a little less than a meter and so on. All of our medicine is metric. If you want to get into some really weird measurements, check out apothecaries measurements.

The problem with so many of these lists, is that while these things do exist in the US, they are often far from everyday things. Girl Scout cookies are sold for only a few weeks out of every year, the exact times vary with region in order to even out production. Sure spray cheese exists, I have bought it, but I may also go years without buying the stuff, and even then may only buy it for specific uses, like a picnic travel snack. About the only thing here that most people see on a nearly daily basis is advertisements for prescription drugs, and most people ignore them, or make fun of them, as they rarely even tell you what the drug is designed to treat, instead they show people outdoors being active, and say, ask your doctor if Fakezantic is right for you.

"Sure spray cheese exists, I have bought it, but I may also go years without buying the stuff, "
Indeed, and Europeans will always act like we think that's high quality cheese or something. And they say it with their preachy tone, like they have something to teach us about food. High quality cheese would be the stuff created in Wisconsin, or Monterey Jack, which was created here in California (Monterey, California). Wine from the North Bay, as in the counties of Napa and Sonoma, is known throughout the world to be high quality wine. Personally I can't stand the taste of alcohol, but others like it.
I would also direct the Europeans to our MANY Michelin star restaurants. Michelin is a tire company in France, but they're also known for The Michelin Star Guide, which supposedly lists what the French consider to be good restaurants. We have over 100 such restaurants in San Francisco, New York has a lot more, and most major cities in the USA have many. So yeah, Europe, we know good food as well. It's not just you guys.

The drinking age was lowered at the beginning of the 1970s to 18. I turned 18 in 1974 and was drinking. The rates of drunk driving involving the age group between 18 and 21 really went up. That was when Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (ing?) started raising the alarm, so many people killed. They put the national age back up before the end of the 1970s and grandfathered all the ones that turned 18 prior to the age increase in. They were allowed to continue drinking and the law was phased out.

Yeah our healthcare is expensive. Mostly due to the fact that the more you can pay for the better care you can receive and there are plenty of options to choose from. Things like your tax stubs, current paycheck amount, and criminal history affect what choices you may have.
I could apply for multiple health care insurance plans but the one that makes me pay 24$ per month is the one that gives me more consistant care whenever needed. There are ones that cost less that I could apply for but then I wouldnt be able to receive the same level of health care insurance as often.
For instance, certain surgical procedures or medication refills might be limited to taking off some of the cost on up to like 5 per every 3 months with the other plans. With my current one I get it as often as needed. It just costs me more per month. I also have to pay for certain things out of pocket. It varies for person to person as needed what they qualify for and need. Some people might get sick or have a illness keep coming back. I work with young kids and I do a lot of physical exercise with them. So there is more risk of them getting me sick or me getting injured by accident with them in the gym or on the playground. Mine covers my health care and dental care. It doesnt cover my eye care unfortunately considering I wear glasses. Ideally I wouldnt need to go in for a check up or any reason that often. So I just have it as a security means just in case.
