I bought the early access build to this game with zero knowledge of when the full release would drop. This video is my introduction to the full build, and I don’t understand why everyone just assumed they were going to get a full game for 5 dollars A discount would be nice, and apparently we got that, but how often does buying the unfinished version of a game lead to you getting the full build that’s worth 4x more for free? Apparently they even added a shit ton of new shit, even multiple player. That shit isn’t scratch drag and drop, pay the workers and programmers what they’re due for the game they developed It really feels like people assume they’re entitled to free stuff. Like yeah, I fuck with free health care, but a vr headset itself is a luxury product. You wouldn’t expect an artist to give you a fully rendered drawing for free after you paid for a sketch Look at it in reverse order as well. They’re selling this narrative as if we were scammed out of 12 dollars, but no one would have said anything if there was never an unfinished version sold. In that universe, we lose 3 dollars. Is the implication that the game is still only worth 5 dollars!?!? How will the programmers feed themselves after getting a quarter of what their work is worth?!?!?
I think the issue is more with this information should have been laid out at the very start. I personally don't like Early Access. I don't mind paying for my games. I buy a lot of full priced games or wait for deep sale, so I am not someone who expects things for free. I just think paying for Early Access is very risky. I feel this way with Live service games as well. Especially, if they are paid.
@@Drstrange3000 I see your reasoning, I’m also not a fan of live service games, however, I struggle to grasp at what’s so risky about buying an early access game. And I’m in no rush to buy the second half of the game, so I don’t feel manipulated ether Transparency is deeply appreciated by fans, and we all would of benefited by knowing the exact pricing of what the full game would of been, but who’s to say that they were able to appropriately price the value of their game while it was still so unfinished? @infatan It is okay to defend it and give counterpoints. I was mostly talking about Early Access as a whole. I bought No Rest for the Wicked, but the game is so unoptimized and is going in a direction that I didn't expect when it first came out. I still blame myself for buying it but it made me want more transparency from Early Access. It isn't the only Eearly Access game I was disappointed in.
As someone who played the early access to 100%, just play a fangame for free like attack on quest, they have just as good if not better movement, and some, like aoq, are online multiplayer with opening communities
7:54 - "if we bought the game in beta, then we thought we would be given access at launch, which is not what happened at all" Well yeah no duh you did not get access to part 2, that is saying that when part 2 comes out, you will need to pay for part 2, but do not to rebuy part 1 in order to play part 2, you just need to have both parts. Hitman did the same thing a while ago, and destiny still releases these new raids that you need to pay extra money for, so I am not sure where you got confused in that message.
That's bs and you know it. You absolutely know they promised early access buyers the full release. It was the first thing on the older version of the website for damn sake.
Wtf is up with everyone lying in the comments? A few months back when early access dropped, the whole hype was about how early access buyers GET THE FULL GAME UPON RELEASE, ITS WHY IT SHOT UP TO NUMBER ONE ON THE QUEST STORE FOR LIKE TWO MONTHS. Their website even showed this, they had a whole roadmap section detailing exactly how early access users were gonna get the full game in the future. My guess (because i wasn't there stalking the website before full release) is that they changed that policy last minute so NOW it says "oh just kidding, you were just paying for part one", which is insane, considering RIGHT NOW ON THEIR WEBSITE, it talks about how early access users get a free update... which is completely false lmao.
I dont see how everyone is hating the game, paying an extra 12 bucks isnt that bad if you bought the early access. Your still getting part 2 cheaper for supporting the early access than if you didnt buy it. Also companies need to make money to pay their employees so they can keep developing the game.
@@wrapsnap3044no I didn’t, I paid for the early access build. Dawg they PROMISED WE'D GET THE GAME WHEN IT FULLY RELEASED. THEY CHANGED IT LAST SECOND BEFORE RELEASE. It was number one on the quest store because they promised you'd get the full release upon purchasing early access.
Watch the video ❤ basically they released an "early access" version, which is to say a demo version that is priced lower because it's subject to change and may never be complete. Then they put the price for "Early Access" up and released the whole game... Separately from the "Early Access" version, but still REQUIRES you purchase that demo first. That's not how this is meant to work. That's NEVER been how it works. When you purchase an Early Access product you aren't putting a downpayment on something. You are buying the product, just in the early stages. The total price isn't $8 it's $20. People THOUGHT they were paying $5 for an entire game, but instead they were basically told "no you just pay a quarter up front, the rest at the end". It is most definitely a scam, and pretending it's okay because they're only asking for $20 instead of $60 is yuck. At what point do you consider it to be a problem? If a downpayment of $5 and then an extra $12 at the end is okay, is a downpayment of $10 and then $20 at the end? That's still only $30. Perhaps $15 and $15?
@@time2play961 You have to pay for part 1 and 2 for the full experience that leaves you wanting more because you aren't full, part 1 costs $5 if you got it early but now its $12 for part 2 or $20 for part 1&2 in a bundle
