- One of my favorite RPG themes. I was a little disgruntled that the OST version only went to 2 minutes so I decided to extend it to 3 more minutes.

123doomdoom Pretty much all of Kaim's memories are just character building for him. You do not need to read them to understand the main story at all.

Never played Lost Odyssey (not a fan of JRPGs) but my roommate used to play it while I'd be drinking and reading on the couch and I always fucking loved the battle theme. Fucking epic!
you should try to get into the J-RPG Genre ,, it's a Fantastic genre with Lots of unforgettable games

Final Fantasy 13 + the rest of the trilogy are high quality & stellar games that got absolutely hate trained on because that was the cool/fun thing to do at the time.

Ff13-2 was complete garbage.
Ff13-3 I cannot say anything about because the previous two were so bad that I didn’t even give it a shot.

I think it's around that time that gaming press really started to go downhill, probably because a lot of youngsters that look like attention impaired children with ADHD and have overly political views started that career.

I love it when the second violin part starts playing and the game shows the party's side view. So epic!!
I used this theme in one of my D&D campaings as the leitmotif of the party's favourite npc.
When they were in a bind and heard this music playing... there was literally applause at the table...
Lmao. I'm now imagining just a group of stressed out ND geeks all doing the fucking Gendo Ikari in front of a tough battle-consideirng who they're willing to lose, then this tune comes on and they're immediately like
"YeeeaahhhHHH!! Les' Fuckin Gooo! Gungle McChunglenuts is HERE motherfuckers!" (cause in the games I frequent, the greatest NPCs always deserve the _greatest_ names)

One of the best RPGs i've ever played, and the battle theme is just brilliant and epic.
Its right on par with, "Let the Battles Begin!" I honestly couldn't pick a favorite between these two!
For me FF9 Battle Theme and FF8 Battle Theme (as Laguna Loire) are my favorites
im glad i was introduced to a masterpiece of a game, OST hits hard, was and still is beautiful, and the combat mechanics are amazing. only wish i heard about it more often.
Nobuo Uematsu spilled his heart. What an incredible man. This is the same man who made FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9, and part of FFX. We are not worthy.
Got this game for a free game of the month on xbox, saw it was a jrpg and though "I must get it", fell in love right away this is easily my most favorite battle theme so far in the game but I only just beat the second boss and can't wait to hear more also the thousand years of dreams are so fucking deep made me cry on two of them. Truly an amazing game.

They need to remake this on current gen asap .
the sad truth is lost odessy didn't sell well. On VG charts it's shown that it hasn't even hit a million units sold. which is sad because the game god stomped every rpg at the time and still beats back quite of the newer rpgs as well. I think with mistwalker being a small studio, they have no way to hype games. One of the biggest sins in the gameindustry is Hironobu Sakaguchi, the father of Final fantasy is redused to making IOS and android games.
the problem was that he picked the wrong system to release them on. He made Lost Odyssey an Xbox 360 exclusive and The Last Story a Wii exclusive. While I'm really greatful for that, because I loved The Last Story on Wii, what he should have done is release on a Playstation System (at the time, PS3), or on the DS/3DS. People still play tons of JRPGs on those systems.
VGChartz isn't a reliable source and a game doesn't need to sell a million to be successful. I'm not disputing that it might've not sold very well but still.
Bipolar Bear Mistwalker has said on record that it didn't sell well. There's no disputing it. There's a reason they went to the Wii and made The Last Story (which sold better) and are now making mobile RPGs (which are doing even better)
A company has to go where the customers are.
VG Charts isn't 100% reliable this is true, but it's close enough. A shame those games couldn't get on the PS. If one is into RPGs, one would buy a PS or maybe the DS. Granted those games where published.

For Hironobu Sakaguchi, this game is Final Fantasy XII, Blue Dragon is FF 11 and The Last Story is FF13 ;)

What a wonderful game this was. I loved the concepts it explored, thought the gameplay was super solid and it had such a genuinely interesting and well-written set of characters, too! And those written segments! Ah man this song has me remembering so much... Time to dust off my 360!
Battle themes aren't supposed to be this epic. Ironically, that's part of what made it annoying to fight! Then again, that's every damn theme in this game. The music in this game is the most underrated music in history.

Does anyone else think Kaim looks like Keanu Reeves? If they ever made a movie I think he would be the perfect fit for the role.
As for the theme, my favorite part has to be the counter-melody at 0:45 (Cello/French Horn). I think what makes Uematsu such a great composer isn't just his melodies, but his understanding of the relationship between melodies, harmonies, and counter-melodies. That understanding allows him to create large, flowing pieces that appear to have a much larger apex than it actually does, and it sounds great in the process.

Uematsu is simply legendary,still best Final Fantasy composer even in 2021. He created so many masterful compositions over the years spanning various technologies, too.

This is Dark Souls level of quality, and I mean that. This is truly a masterpiece.
A friend of mine owned thid game for a while.
We were young when we played it and we had trouble with some boss I think.
I regret never playing this all the way through back then.
Lost Odyssey is probably the most underrated Xbox360 game, but the game mechanics and interaction felt like I would eventually play the Final Fantasy game series.
Fantasy series on a different platform with a different story but familiar atmosphere and Feel the gameplay and excitement of themiss this game story so damn and hopefully the latest version or even an improved version coming to a new console or even a sequel would possibly be coming :) because I could experience a great story again and with better graphics.
This is the real ff 13 to me .

i wanna agree... but it's lack of success was mostly due to being shadowed by other games released around the same like gta iv. they're cross platform so sadly lost odyssey would still have been lost in the mess of"bro-games" :\ sad really because Lost Odyssey was fantastic. Makes me happy to own an Xbox :)

Why does this song always make me, a 33 year old man, cry? It just has such a strong triumphant spirit to it. Like a man who fought like hell for his beliefs and this song plays as he’s returning home on horseback with the head of his enemy in a burlap sack.

***** Well from what I've heard that this game was suppose to be FF12, the creator of this game worked for Square when they were in development of the game and he wanted this while everyone else wanted what FF12 is now. So he left joined another company and made this game.
Nope, Sakaguchi left Square cuz FF : Spirits Within was an enormous commercial failure, Square fired him and he founded Mistwalker. He didn't worked with Square since Driving Emotion Type-S, except if we count Kingdom Hearts and FFXI-X2-TA that he only produced.

this is one of the most wanted "remastered" games for me. just get this to current consoles, make it multiplattform.
it's the last "real" final fantasy that was created. has all the soul and heart of the old games, but yet still with a nice freshness to it

+Hitlervania's Bizarre adventure WRYYY only immortal characters can revive themselves. mortal charaters like Jansen Tolten and Sed stay KO'd so u gotta revive them. its a good balance of the battle mechanic for survival against tough enemies. in case you want to keep fighting or run away

Haha so i am not only one then, funny thing is i have never had a chance to even play this but i do like to listen lots of OST's from RPG games. That said this game needs a remaster and it needs to be released on PC as well, been wanting to play this for years now simply because its probably last turn-based RPG that actually looks good.

I only briefly played LO when it came out before getting sidetracked by something else, but this song has lived rent-free in my head for the past 15 years. I hope to one day go back and finish the game.

This game deserves a remaster. Although the game ain't perfect, the story and the memories narrative is amazing. I still asking myself why I sold my physical discs :(
